That's A Wrap On The Prompt-A-Thon!
So for the first time doing it, it didn't go that badly. We had three participants get prompts (@mizjoely, @dreaminonao3 and myself) and we had six of the fifteen answers posted during the month! I think this may be a yearly thing we do, as it's a lot easier to give individuals who want to participate prompts then do a week of prompts. Plus I can do it for the whole month of December and still run a weeklong Valentine's Day/Galentine's Day/Singles Awareness Day week in February (which we will be back for, this time with specific prompts for the weeklong fest).
(I'm sorry it took so long to post this...my sleep schedule has been awful lately and I've only been awake a few hours at a time the last few days)

Molly Hooper Appreciation Week Winter 2023 Prompt-A-Thon!
So I figured out what to do for Molly Hooper Appreciation Week literally a few minutes ago so I'm sorry there's no hoopla or time to plan!
For a holiday_wishes gift on Dreamwidth (I linked to the profile in case anyone else wants to participate...it's a lot of fun and my daughter and I are both participating this year), I recently compiled over 1,000 non-fandom/non-character specific prompts. Included in that are 750 sentence starter prompts/text message prompts. So I'm going to randomly give some of the prompts out to you guys!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MOLLY HOOPER APPRECIATION WEEK WINTER PROMPT-A-THON
Send me an ask at @mollyappreciationweek with how many prompts you want (no more than five; if you finish your five you can get up to five more each time you finish five).
Let me know whether you want a sentence starter prompt, a regular prompt (better for artwork/gif sets/etc), a mix or it doesn't matter.
Let me know which blog you want me to send the prompt(s) to; if you have a writing or fandom blog where you post your art, include that username and I will send your asks there from my main blog (@mousedetective...if you have my main blocked and still want to participate, I can DM them to you).
I will send each prompt as a separate ask; please reply to the ask with the fic or a link to it when you're done. Please also @ @mollyappreciationweek somewhere in the ask so it goes on the blog's activity, in case I miss an answer.
I will reblog your fic to the main Molly Hooper Appreciation Week blog. The fics do not need to be themed about winter, Christmas or New Year's, but I will be giving out prompts from December 1st to December 31st. You can answer them at your leisure, even if it takes a while (our AO3 collection is always up to late answers).
RULES
- Any kind of fanwork you can think of is acceptable for this week: fanfic, fanart, fanvids, manipulations, gifsets (please make sure they are your gifs, though, and you’re not taking them from others without permission), meta, headcanons…anything you can think of that would celebrate Molly Hooper that would fit in with a prompt will be accepted with much pleasure.
- Be kind and respectful to everyone participating. We don’t want any wank because this is a week for sharing our love for a character who loves pretty much everyone we’ve seen her meet.
- If there’s something submitted that you like, please like it (or even better, reblog it so others can see it too)! If there’s a link to it on another website, go to that website and leave them love there as well.
- Any and all romantic ships are allowed. Het, femslash, poly…you ship it, we want to see it! We turn no one away. All ships are valid ships. Likewise, all takes on Molly’s sexuality and gender are valid for this week as well. Not everyone shares the same headcanons but we should all be respectful of others.
- If you post something for the day, please make sure one of your first five tags is “molly appreciation week”. We will not be using secondary tags this round as we don’t want to clog the tags this round.
- If you want your work to be reblogged on @mollyappreciationweek you must @ the blog somewhere in your post. I get alerts on the activity when the blog is mentioned and then I will know to go and save your post to the drafts to reblog when the round is over. I will still check the tag but there is no guarantee I will see your post unless you @ @mollyappreciationweek as well.
AO3 COLLECTION
There will be a collection, as per usual, which will be opened as soon as I make it for people to post their works. It will remain open for perpetuity as you are always allowed to answer these prompts even after the posting dates are officially over. When it is created you will be able to find it on the parent collection (so this way the link is sort of up now and not lost in reblogs).

To Rush Headlong/A Flight of Fancy
He stood on the ledge, staring down as the wind blew his hair into disarray, down, down, down to the pavement below where his passion for the truth - and, yes, his own arrogance - had led him.
I owe you a fall, Sherlock.
Moriarty was dead, brains blown grey and grisly on the roof behind him. But the moment had been prepared for - why did that ring a faint bell in his memory? Was he echoing someone else's words, yes, a character from a nearly forgotten childhood favorite show, someone else who was dying, who had taken a fall but was about to be reborn.
Project Lazarus is a go.
Mycroft believed they had everything under control, but what was control, really? Nothing but an illusion. Even now, anything could go wrong; people failed - look, there was John Watson, stepping out of a cab as Sherlock slowly, slowly raised his mobile to his ear and spoke the lies that would cause his friend so much grief.
Lies that could all too easily become the truth; there were so many factors, so many variables in this chancy subterfuge the Brothers Holmes were undertaking...
I don't count.
He steadied himself with a breath.
There was one variable he could absolutely rely upon with rock-solid certainty, bone-deep and undeniable.
You've always counted and I've always trusted you.
Governments might crumble, financial institutions crash, consulting criminals blow their own brains out on a whim, but nothing could shake his absolute faith in her.
What do you need?
"You," he whispered as he flung his mobile aside, raised his arms..
...and jumped.
This leap of faith, in the end, was no leap at all, and he fell, secure in the knowledge that all would go exactly to plan, if only because Molly Hooper had been so integral to those plans.
John Watson would grieve, but Sherlock Holmes would live - because Molly would always, always be there to catch him when he fell.

MHAW Prompt #5:
“Are you SURE I can’t punch him in the face?”
“Yes.”
“What if I just break his nose a little?”
Sherlock rolled his eyes. "Molly, you are freakishly strong for your size. If you tried to 'break his nose a little', you'd end up smashing half his face in."
The woman struggling (futilely) in his hold continued to glare at the smirking man standing in front of them. "Yeah? And where's the downside to that?" she demanded.
"The downside to that," Sherlock replied, wrapping his arms more firmly around her and lowering his head to murmur directly in her ear, "is that I probably couldn't get you out of jail in time for our dinner reservation, and I believe tonight is of particular importance to you."
Molly stopped struggling, craning her head around to give him a quizzical look, completely distracted - as he'd deduced she'd be - by Sherlock's words. "What's so important about tonight?"
Before he could answer, their - adversary? foe? annoyance? - gave an impatient huff. "Because he's going to propose to you tonight, obviously. And no, it has nothing to do with your pregnancy."
That might have been the end of it if Mycroft hadn't had to just keep going. "Of course, he might have deduced it sooner had he not been so distracted by what ring to choose for you - ultimately, of course, he went for Grand-mere Vernet's emerald in a platinum setting, as I knew he would. Don't worry," he ended with a (definitely mock) sympathetic smile. "I'm sure he can have it sized down for you."
This time Molly was the one trying - well, I say trying - to keep Sherlock from being the one to slug his older brother.
(Mummy Holmes had absolutely zero sympathy for her eldest son's black eye when she found out it had all started because Mycroft couldn't help blabbing about Molly's 'interesting condition' just as she was about to tell Sherlock herself!)
