Just finished my first field work experience. It was fantastic the children were wonderful and the school was superb. The teachers were all model teachers and I learned so much; classroom management skills, responsive classroom strategies, lessons and so much more. This field experience at stony brook elementary really reinforced the fact in my mind that I want to become a teacher. I am excited for the future, my next educational classes and my future as a teacher.

Introductions and Reasons I Want to Blog

  My name is Christy Chen and I am a student at Rider University. I plan to graduate in 2016 and become an elementary school teacher. I currently am working at Bricks 4 Kidz where I am a teacher and an instructor. 

Currently I am taking a class about social networking and technology. This class has taught me that social networking and technology are new features that are being included in the education world and I am very intrigued by this. This class has inspired me to create a blog and I already have a twitter account where I share articles and ideas about teaching, technology and the educational world. 

I hope to keep this blog interesting with articles and ideas from other professionals, teachers and educators. I also hope to include my own ideas, experiences and thoughts about any topics that incorporate education and teaching. 

I hope this blog will not only help me keep track of ideas and journal posts but give you insight to new ideas.
