It really sucks that creative people are now also expected become their own marketing team or become experts in business ventures in order to keep making art. Literally cannot think of a group of people less inclined to tedious number punching work than passionate artists.
Body swap movie where one of them has invisible disabilities and when the other one lands in their body they immediately collapse catatonic on the floor from the pain and fatigue and the first one is like 'oh damn guess I don't have to worry that I'm faking it anymore'
I once kept my AO3 username secret from a work colleague for two years (until she found me). There are dear friends of mine who get a haunted look in their eye when I mention my fics. My own blessed father once asked why he couldn't read my writing (I quote), 'Is it not that good, or is it ... rude?' 😏😏 and he went REAL quiet when I just said 'Yes.'
So obviously I learned nothing and started drawing nsfw art to match my heinous fanfics. 👍
“Oh my god you’re a writer? Can I read your stuff?”
