I often get asked about
The great muse behind my poetry
If I write it in truth
Or just spill out pure flattery
Do I write it for the boys
I've loved a thousand times
Or the ones on paper
That exist in my mind
Do I write it for the lovers
Who don't see that love is blind
Or for the hellish female fury
That resides in my mind
Do I write for the demons
Who scorned me in secret
Or for my green-eyed monsters
And my large-hearted miquelets
What I write of
I do not know
But I write it for me
Not for plastic show
Whom do I write of
I do not know
But I love my muses
For they have helped me grow
Why I write
That I do know
It fills my soul
Makes my body glow
Overwhelms my heart
Lightens my mind
And with my parchment and quill
On and on I'll go
