Salutations! For anyone who seeks to know I'm a fandom heathen looking for a place to shitpost and make art, I'm mainly ENA trash and have my own show in mind so yeah, and no, I'm no sjw why did you even ask? What are ye a clod? If y’a wanna know since it’s tumbler custom ; I’m just a bisexual dipshit looking to have fun. :) (I turned 18 on November of 2021) please be patient, I have autism & 0 tolerance for bullshit.
One night and one more time thanks for the memories thanks for the memory for day it is like you only sweeter!
Man....I can be critical about Laserhawk but I cannot deny the absolute energy blast it has given to the Rayman fandom. All of a sudden the tumblr tag is overflowing with art and messages, and headcannons and fancharacters and amvs and ANIMATIONS. I'm overwhelmed by the variety of things I find in the tag EVERY DAY. A year or so ago I'd be lucky if the tag has one or two new posts every week.
'Ugh but it's just people obsessed with Edgy Rayman/Ramon'
Sure there is a LOT of trenchcoat edgebean content (a lot of it VERY GOOD and FUN) but I am seeing just as much wholesome, old school Rayman content appearing too. People rediscovering the games and trying out ones they haven't played. People discussing the past versions of Rayman. Fanart of older characters. Rabbids content and OC's. People making OC's who just want to chill out in the Glade, NOT in Eden. Selfshipping and OCxCannon shipping and AU's galore!
AND all the Laserhawk related stuff on top of that? Honestly, we're spoilt for choice :3
It's like people came for the edgelord but stayed for the sunshine, and that's really cool. I hope those people hang around and help keep this fandom alive with their amazing ideas :D

Holy fucking shit dude, this makes way too much sense!
The fact you can get Xanax as a prescription means it’s easier to access & wouldn’t taint his reputation as much as cocaine might.
I was wondering why it was this minty green color. He probably was already on the medication & decided to let go & just snort the fuck out of it cuz he’s literally having a panic attack unlike any other he had since.
although I wonder if it makes the scene where he does vomit less significant because it’s from his benzodiazepines intake rather than sheer disgust at what he has covered up over the years. On the other hand, I have a solution, the classic bisexual maneuver.
“Por que no los dos?”
Hi! This is your drug TW!
Okay, so, I've deduced what Rayman is snorting in this scene:
It's benzos. he's snorting straight xanax.
How do I know it's benzodiazepines? Here we go:
The blue color
Originally, I choked the blue color up to being a stylistic choice. I didn't think the blue color mattered, and that he was in fact snorting cocaine. However, the blue color does matter—cocaine is white, and benzodiazepines (in the hard pill form you can crush up and snort) are colored, usually blue.
The red eyes
For a while, I was like "Is this a Breaking Bad reference? Is he snorting biker meth?", but I did more research, methamphetamine doesn't make your eyes red. So we look at the (common) drugs that abuse causes red eyes: Marijuana, Cocaine, Crack, Benzodiazepines, Depressants, and Inhalants. And when we look at which one of those is famously blue, we get benzos!
The symptoms
Some symptoms of benzodiapines are: shaking (like the twitching seen after he snorts it, which can also be choked up to the act of snorting itself), confusion and thinking problems (he's having trouble calming down, has racing thoughts, etc.), aggression (most commonly when used with alcohol), and nystagmus (repetitive, uncontrolled movement of the eyes)
(Check the beginning of Episode 5 at these points for twitching and nystagmus)
Why he's taking them.
Cocaine gets you excited, but benzodiapines are calming. Rayman is stressed and scared, taking cocaine would only make that worse for him. He's taking something meant to calm him and relieve stress.
What about the alcohol?
Rayman has mixed benzodiapines with alcohol, very clearly. This comes with it's own host of issues: impaired judgement, unusual behavior, and increased risk of violence. All of these can potentially be seen during episodes 3 and 5, and 6.
Other evidence:
Benzodiapine abuse can leave to nausea and appetite loss. When Rayman throws up later in the episode, we can see that he's not eaten anything that day, and the only thing in his stomach was the juice Bullfrog gave him:
He likely didn't have an appetite, either because of stress or because of the drugs he was taking.
It’s kinda easy to see him get super attached to Bullfrog, and or fall in love with him.
Also Rayman is as much a representation of what autistic folk might face in the mainstream entertainment industry or just in general, as much as he is catharsis to disgruntled old Rayman fans.
also also, Bullfrog might have at first contemplated whether or not to utilize other methods to get him to change i.e seduction into the creed like they always fantasied about cuz if they’re gonna die they’re gonna go out with a *bang*
So this tweet made a real good point and got me thinking about this scene:
As mentioned in their tweet, "you don't 'beg for mercy' for a job," and here he sounds so scared and desperate, like he's had to do this A LOT before with the directors and it's so... sad.
(more under the cut)
Before he finds out the truth about Eden, he believed they saved him from his former life and gave him new opportunities to continue his dreams, but do you think having to needlessly beg to keep your position as literally being the face of Eden out of fear you'll be replaced and thrown right back out to your old life is a so called dream come true?
Eden even made a trailer for a movie about his life to fame, showing how everyone was rejecting him as a person, which they definitely made it more simplified like I KNOW he was getting way worse treatment than what was shown.
My main point is that despite believing in Eden's motives (before knowing the truth), he still wasn't truly happy deep down. He was STILL getting rejected and slandered by society, and he knew that deep down, so it's not surprising how the possibility of him losing his job made him have a whole breakdown and do the things he did to try and cope.
He quite literally has no one to lean to and hasn't had anyone since showing up to Eden besides the directors (because he probably believed they were treating him fairly and with respect), but... yeah.
He wanted to make a difference, to give hope to hybrids, and he thought he was doing just that. Despite the way the directors and everyone thought of him, despite how alone he felt, he still thought he was achieving his dreams and sharing that onto others
and yet... he was being used this entire time. None of it was true, all the hard work and the things he went through was for nothing.
Everything that Eden has done, and he was the face of it all... it's just devastating.

I'm sorry, but I'm absolutely enamored with the idea of Ramon pulling this on Bullfrog to soothe him to sleep; particularly whenever he's having trouble falling asleep or just outright refuses to. Bullfrog wasn't able to protect his other comrades, and something tells me he doesn't want to lose anyone else and is willing to miss out on sleep if it meant keeping Ramon safe. Little does he know that Ramon can be just as stubborn, if not more-so.
Doing this to a frog puts them in a very vulnerable position, but I think Bullfrog would come to a point where he trusts Ramon and wouldn't have the heart to be too upset once he wakes up. Even if it was a bit of a nasty trick to pull, the intentions were sweet. <3
