God, I wish I was a better/faster/more comfortable at sketching things, there's a million little doodle ideas I have that wouldn't be good enough for finished pieces but would make fun sketches...

But I'm very bad at sketching, it's something I need to work more on, but, ugh... I'm not even saying I'm super good at inking or polishing my works, but my sketchwork is just so awkward.

I re-read Bone over the weekend and I'm happy to report it holds up well

When it comes to food, neither is a fussy eater. Val loooves visiting different restaurants (and will happily pay for her friends as well) and is sorta foodie-adjacent. Food isn't really a "hobby" or anything, but if you have to eat, might as well enjoy it! Beriith is… not that. He doesn't really "like" like food. Like, he is capable of distinguishing between a badly cooked meal and well made one, but when it comes to types of food, he is indifferent. For him, food is just… there, and he needs to eat because he needs nutrients and calories. He can't really appreciate a good dinner for what it is. This, on the other hand, means that he is willing to go with any of Val's ideas.

Val's least favorite food is red meat; specifically beef. It's not really about the taste (she definitely enjoys a well made meat-focused meal!) but if she eats too much beef, she starts to feel ill. Her favorite type of food is seafood, especially crab pasta. Beriith's least favorite food is anything too sweet -- chocolate and ice cream especially. Actually, he has never tasted dark chocolate, but he would actually enjoy something like 80-90% dark chocolate in small doses. He let's Val order him dessert anyway and they both know Val is going to eat it (eating someone else's dessert is different from ordering 2 desserts for yourself). His favorite food is uhhhhhhh…. yeah. Probably something his mom made for him in his childhood.

As for who cooks at camp, this is boring, and I couldn't really figure out what to draw x) … But it's usually Val, out of her own insistence. Neither of them are particularly "good" good cooks, but they are both capable of making edible, well-cooked food. Beriith's lack of enthusiasm for food makes his cooking kinda… bland, though. He will happily eat a meal that's nothing but unsalted chicken breast and eggs and assorted similarly unsalted vegetables, or eat whatever rations at hand. And Val… who likes food… hates it. Val is kinda mediocre cook -- at home, she mostly eats food cooked for her by servants, and at the Uni she either eats at the Uni cafeteria or eats out in one of the many restaurants in her home city, so she doesn't really have much reason to "learn" cooking beside basics. But she manages. Basically neither of them is a cooking catastrophe, there's not going to be big accidents unless something distracting happens, but Val's cooking slightly more palatable to someone who actually cares about food.

I don't really draw Lady with her son (bet none of you even knew she had one!) and was hit by a need to finally do something about it. Actually, I meant to make this an answer to a character ask, but I ended up changing my mind and making it a separate piece instead.

I'm a bit lost as to what I want to do with the narrative of "Something Borrowed" (that's the "official" name of the fantasy story Beriith & Val are from I'm working on, the tag is "#project:a fantasy setting" because im bad at naming my projects)

Right now I'm kinda working on it as a series of (random order) vignettes (and pictures with lore dumps on), and it kinda works for me because I get to work on the scenes I wanna work on and not have to worry about 5 months of work I'd have to do to get to the scene I wanna work on.

But I would also like if there was like. A real linear narrative. And I think that would be easier for potential readers as well. Not that readers are my main priority (sorry this is my comfort project and very, very, very self-indulgent) but I like sharing my work and when I do, I generally want my stories to be at least somewhat accessible.

I'm not at the stage where I can seriously start any huge project just yet; I'm supposed to be graduating by the end of the year, so I have several large school related things, one of which is my thesis, coming up. So for the time being I will focus on making vignettes or other short and/or sketchy comics anyway.
