I teach 1st grade.
I get called momma 5 times a day. I stick on bandaids, give insulin shots, and put baby teeth in baggies. I get to work early and stay 1-2 hours late. I plan lessons and experiments and use different voices to make learning fun.
Yes, I get summers off, but I teach summer school and even if I didn’t, do you think a bare classroom decorates and organizes itself to be ready for the next school year? I spend my date nights at school events and come home exhausted. But I wouldn’t trade it for any other career.
I clearly didn’t become a teacher for the fortune and fame. Everything I do is for those kids. I am lucky enough to love on and teach those kids every single day!
I wake up and I don’t dread going to work because the people I work with (my students) love me as much as I love them.

We are 5 months away from our wedding day and we moved into our first home together 3 months ago! You are most certainly my best friend and the joy and laughter you bring to my life is undeniable. I hope I can forever keep that smile on your face.
But let’s be honest, you leave dip cans laying around and I have hormonal mood swings each month (which you handle with such patience). We both have our downsides, but we are only human.
We aren’t perfect, but we are perfect for each other. I cannot wait to officially become your wife on October 26th, 2019!
