If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

I had a scar below my right eye just kinda at the top of my cheekbone (that has faded in the decade since), that I got when I tripped over my dog and smashed my face into the coffee table at like 3am while studying at college. There was a lot of blood but it was so late and I didn't want to wake anyone too deal with it, so I just kind of shrugged it if and we've to bed. The next day in college, I had classmates asking what fight I got into and who they should beat up. I thought it was hilarious that they had this cool backstory in their heads for me when I'm reality it's like "nah, I'm just an idiot and didn't look where I was going". Gave everyone a good laugh though!
It looked really bad for a while, but it's not really noticeable now.
i think its funny how facial scars are seen as like a major character plot point where they reveal that someone tried to kill their dad or something when i know a ton of ppl (including myself) who have facial scars bc they rlly arent uncommon and all of them are like. from tripping and falling as a toddler

genuinely one of the saddest parts of this new era of the internet is how hard it is to rick roll someone now. with people's attention spans shortening so much, they wouldn't even get through the first few bait seconds before clicking off the video. like i saw a comment that ended with "btw i made all of this up" and the replies kept treating it so seriously because none of them finished the entire 4 sentence comment. and We're no strangers to love You know the rules and so do I (do I) A full commitment's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other guy I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Now, I'm generally not a fan of self diagnosis with no intent to get a formal diagnosis, because I think it can do harm to neuro diverse communities. But obviously if a formal dx is inaccessible or if you'd have to pay for it, fair enough. And I'd not fight you on it.
But absolutely people have to stop trivialising actual mental health issues and disorders by equating them to slightly difficult situations, or people acting like twats. I suffered from actual OCD when I went through a serious mental health drop. It wasn't cute, pretty stationary, ect. It was checking the news obsessively, literally, every 2-5 minutes all day , every day, and looking up specific events repeatedly upwards of 50 times a day. I had serious panic attacks that left me unable to move from one spot for days. So when people say "omg I'm having a panic attack" when what they mean is "I'm really quite worried about x thing" or "lol I'm so OCD" when they mean "I don't like a messy space", it really pisses me off for everyone who actually has to deal with those things every day.
Tbh, I really thought we were past this, but apparently not. Thanks for drawing attention to summer of these, op. I had actually missed the harm that those can do.
Don't trivialises people's illnesses, you never know who you might be insulting. Also, it's just generally a shitty way to be.
“You shouldn’t self-ID as ADHD/autistic, you’re turning a very real mental condition into a trend” Ok then stop saying delulu. Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying “schizoposting” and “acoustic” and “is it restarted?” Stop using “psycopath” and “sociopath” as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying “the intrusive thoughts won” when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying “I’m so OCD” as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying “OP I am living in your walls” without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers you’ve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
You first. If you don’t want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. I’ll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. Which a lot of you are

YEEEAAAAHHHH
I'm also not an alcohol drinker and get anxious around alcohol. A queer cafe or bookshop would be wonderful!
I want to go to a gay bar
However I do not want to go to a gay bar because I do not, nor will I ever, drink alcohol. I do not particularly want to be around drunks.
So instead of a gay bar, I propose a Queer Cat Cafe.
Non allergenic cats ofc
There's a section of the cafe where the cats can't go if you don't want cats near you. That section is the library.
There are lil pride flags everywhere, even the obscure ones.
They sell pride pins for £1.50ish each at the counter.
There are LED lights.
It's autism friendly, lights can be toned down if needed and everything is neatly spaced out
You can have a sticker to write your pronouns on
Mostly queer artists/songs played
feel free to add on

This is beyond stunning! I had the joy of seeing a tiger shark when I visited The Deep in hull last summer, and they instantly became one of my favourite sharks!
I can't get over how beautiful this art is. I immediately went and bought the downloadable zine, which is also filled with just beautiful shark art!
For what it's worth, I think it'd make a gorgeous tattoo, as well (✿^‿^)

My piece for Swim On Vol. 9, a charity zine in tribute to sharks. The zine has 100 artists and many great works, check it out! The shark of my choice was the Zebra Shark. C:

I suppose it fits, given I'm studying marine ecology. Thank you Monterey bay aquarium for always providing the vibes, getting me through my course.

I really, desperately want this to be our future. A lot of my work revolves around climate change. I have to look at current trends, and I have to consider worst-case-scenarios. And those are terrifying, and they need to be stopped at all costs.
But! I also look at what best case scenarios might be. And that gives me hope. If we can spread info about those true scary tend lines , but show those better case scenarios; maybe we can give people some hope and encouragement to make sustainable changes, and demand changes from governments, MPs, and big businesses.
I think we can make this future the reality we experience, I just think it will need a *lot* of effort, and a lot of working together as a community to put pressure on the big polluters.
In the future, children will think our ways are strange. "Why do old people always grow so much milkweed in their gardens?" they'll say. "Why do old people always write down when the first bees and butterflies show up? Why do old people hate lawn grass so much? Why do old people like to sit outside and watch bees?"
We will try to explain to them that when we were young, most people's yards were almost entirely short grass with barely any flowers at all, and it was so commonplace to spray poisons to kill insects and weeds that it was feared monarch butterflies and American bumblebees would soon go extinct. We will show them pictures of sidewalks, shops, and houses surrounded by empty grass without any flowers or vegetables and they will stare at them like we stared at pictures of grimy children working in coal mines

RB for my American friends. Also a reminder to UK folks, a general election is coming up this year, and plenty of this stands, especially with the Tories stance on trans people.
Don't be tempted to not vote because you don't necessarily agree with everything on any party. Vote for what you think aligns best with your worldview and what will help the most people. And remember to talk to/ email / write / whatever to your local MPs about the issues that mean the most to you and what the landscape looks like to them.
