Part 1
Part 2
The air was frosty, puffs of steam escaping from our mouths with each deep exhale. I walked behind Jesper, Kaz, and Inej, looking around cautiously. Until we got away from here, we needed to be very careful. Ahead, as agreed, there was a carriage with horses harnessed. Jesper did an excellent job, unlike the rest of us.
The Sun Summoner slipped from our grasp; we didn't even spend a minute near her. Now, I was sure that none of us had a further plan. Right now, I think we'll head to the city and decide our next move there. Perhaps we'll still have a chance to catch the Summoner, get a million kruge, return to Ketterdam, and continue living a normal life.
Up ahead, the guys are arguing about something, mostly Kaz and Jesper. As we approach the carriage, I look around once again. While Jesper, followed by Inej and Kaz, climb onto the driver's seat, I peer into the darkness, checking if anyone is following us. Getting caught now, when we're almost free from the guards, would be foolish.
"Grace, come on, take a seat," Jesper teases, saying those words with a playful tone because he finds something amusing. I turn my head towards them, inspecting the horses, the carriage, and my friends who have already settled in and are waiting for me.
Yes, I've become quite suspicious. Just ten minutes ago, I killed a person, and even the fact that I saved Inej from her personal sin and Kaz from death doesn't calm me down in the slightest. Now, I sense treachery everywhere, as if there's a threat behind every corner, a Grisha or a soldier. I place my right foot on the step, balance my left foot on the edge near Kaz, and pull myself up using my arms on the roof. I sit next to Inej, tucking my left leg under me and letting my right leg hang down from my side.
Throughout all this, I avoid looking at anyone, keeping my gaze down. I feel Inej glancing at me anxiously, torn between the impulse to take my hand, which I'm currently gripping the edge of the carriage roof between Jesper and Kaz, or to leave things as they are and maybe talk about it later in private. She knows I won't pour my heart out in front of the guys, especially not in front of Brekker. Not my style.
Still, she chooses the second option, leaving me with a genuinely encouraging smile when I look at her. Yes, Inej, you're one of the few who understands me. Jesper is still chatting away to Kaz, until Kaz asks him about the whereabouts of the Sun Summoner. Jesper smiles, as if the fate of the entire world depends on him right now, and releases the horses. The carriage jolts, so I grip the edge of the roof tighter.
Dawn was approaching. Maybe another half hour or so, and the sun would start rising above the horizon, painting the sky in shades of pink, filling the darkness of the night with light. We continue to roll through the streets of Os Alta, checking for any pursuit. Tails are unnecessary now, and changing clothes would be a good idea; dressed as guards, we might raise too many questions.
"Jesper, turn down a less crowded street, we need to change clothes before sunrise attracts attention."
Jesper nods and turns onto another, less bustling street. We tried to head to the outskirts of the city, again, not to raise suspicions from the residents or the guards, since some of them have seen us. We pull under a bridge, and Jesper stops the horses.
"Alright, you guys go first," Inej says, "stuff inside." She pats the roof of the dark carriage. Kaz and Jesper jump down first, getting inside the carriage. Inej and I slowly descend from the roof, stretching our limbs.
I wrap myself in the coat that was part of the guard uniform and exhale with relief. We escaped. Inej approaches me slowly, touching my shoulder. It happens so unexpectedly that I flinch.
"Don't you want to talk about it?" Inej never insisted, not even now, but there was an underlying plea in her voice, like saying, "It'll be easier if you tell." I sigh deeply a few times, swallowing the lump in my throat, and rub my fingertips together. I've always done this when nervous.
- "And what do you want to hear?" I ask quietly because I don't want anyone to hear me at all. After all, I know that Kaz is listening in on us. Inej presses her plump lips together, rubbing my shoulder in support. - "I killed a person, Inej... I never imagined anything like this, never played out in my head how something like this could happen."
Inej listens, nodding humbly at certain moments, and I continue speaking just as softly, not breaking the tone.
- "And I absolutely can't understand myself. At times, I tremble as if with a fever. I remember his body, that dagger sticking out of his head, and a wave of panic engulfs me. But there comes a moment when I don't... I can't..." I pause, interrupting my rapid mumbling, something resembling a confession, and I raise my eyes to Inej. - "I can't imagine what it would be like if you did it... I can't imagine if Grisha had reached Kaz and killed him. And in those moments, I realize that I did everything right, that I wouldn't have done it differently, it wouldn't have worked out differently. And it becomes even scarier from that..."
Tears well up in strong and brave Inej's eyes, I see how much it hurts her to listen to this, but she swallows the lump of tears and says:
- "Why didn't you let me do it?"
- "You yourself said it was a sin..." I smile at the corner of my lips and watch as Suli's face relaxes. - "And I couldn't let you do it."
She smiles, a small tear running down her cheek, which Gafa couldn't hold back. Without thinking about anything or anyone, she turns me completely toward her and hugs me, holding me tightly against her body.
How weak I feel. I'm sure Inej would have held herself together, not showing her emotions, not showing how much she's suffering from what she's done. She would have swallowed it and perhaps forgotten over time, continuing to live on and instilling her faith in everyone. Unfortunately, I'm not Inej...
- "You know what your problem is, Grace?" Inej asks, pulling away from me but not letting go of my shoulders. Our height difference is noticeable now. Not much, but I'm about five centimeters taller than Inej. - "You're afraid that we'll look at you differently. You're afraid that I or Jesper or Kaz will look at you as a killer, accuse you of it. Deep down, you think that our attitude toward you will change, but it won't. It will never be like that."
Inej speaks in a full voice, not afraid to be heard, but apparently, that's so I'll literally ingrain her words into my head.
- "Thank you, Inej..." I whisper words of gratitude to the Suli who looks at my eyes, now full of tears, with a smile. Our brave Suli certainly knows how to move me.
Jesper jumps out of the carriage first, and then Kaz follows, seemingly limping even more on his right leg. I wipe away the tears so the guys won't see. Otherwise, I'd endure a month of Jesper's jokes about women's tears. But even for that, I adore him.
- "Your turn," the sharpshooter rushes to inform us. All this time, he kept looking back, staring at the large chest for belongings attached to the back of the carriage. But I decide not to ask him about it. Who knows, maybe he just imagined it, so I jump ahead of Inej into the carriage, closing the door.
For a few minutes, we don't get out of the carriage, adjusting our clothes and rearranging our weapons. Inej mostly has knives, both long and short, for close and ranged combat, each with its name. I, on the other hand, stick with the usual: a pistol, bullets, and two daggers. One was given to Inej, the other gifted by Kaz.
The spot where Brekker's gift used to rest was now empty.
We jump out of the carriage and approach the guys who are discussing something.
- "We need to find some tavern, stay there for a while, and come up with a plan for our next actions," Kaz says, inspecting Inej and me for readiness, pausing his gaze on my hand that now rests on my thigh with an empty sheath for the dagger. Kaz doesn't reveal anything; he doesn't even frown. He just raises his eyes to me, and we exchange glances.
- "We passed a tavern not far from here; I think we could stop there," Jesper suggested. In the meantime, I shift my gaze from Kaz to Wylan, as I can't withstand the intensity of his penetrating eyes. At another time, sure, we might have even competed in staring contests, but right now, I'm just a couple of steps away from remembering my recent conversation with Inej and bursting into tears again.
- "I think that's a good idea," Inej agrees, already turning towards the carriage.
- "Agreed," I nod approvingly because I don't see any other options. We all head towards the carriage, and then I notice once again how Jesper keeps looking in the direction of the chest. - "Jesper, what are you peering at over there?" He only grins slyly, looking first at me, then at Kaz and Inej, and then shifting his gaze back to the chest.
- "Oh, just making sure we don't lose anyone else's belongings along the way," we all look at him in surprise, I even raise an eyebrow in confusion, - "you never know, maybe the cargo is too valuable."
- "You can check it yourself later." Kaz scowls, responding to Jesper's words with a grim expression.
- "Of course, we will make sure to check..."
I can only smile, shaking my head from side to side. It's always fun with Jesper around; if it weren't for him, I can't imagine how our heists would go without his presence and his sense of fun for everyone.
And above the rooftops, the sun of a new day was already shining brightly.

Library date
You could only hear your footsteps echoing through out the building as you traversed the bookshelves. You scanned every shelf at least twice, in hopes to spot a book which caught your eye. Eventually, a book with a detailed spine and a colourful cover had your full attention.
Shifting slightly to the balls of your feet, you reached up and gently pulled the book from the shelf, holding it carefully as you made your way to the main area. The main area was an open space, surrounded by shelves of books, which had many seating options.
Weaving your way through the tables and chairs, you walked swiftly to your destination - a table in the back corner, with some of the most comfortable chairs you've ever had the pleasure of sitting on.
Your line of vision instantly focused on your boyfriend. Kaz sat on one side of the table, with his elbows and forearms leaning onto the table, allowing him to stare down at the words on the pages of the book he was currently reading. You had insisted, on multiple occasions before, that he should attempt to fix his posture, to try and reduce the risk of crippling his neck. But, he was adamant that he was perfectly fine.
Carefully, you pulled your chair out from under the table, making your move to sit down directly opposite to Kaz. He seemed too engrossed in his book to even acknowledge your presence. The slightly scraping sound of your chair didn't even cause him to shift his gaze from the seemingly intuiting book he was reading.
However, once you had gotten comfortable in your seat, you looked up and saw Kaz had focused his attention to you. He exchanged no words but raised an eyebrow curiously, looking down you your book and then straight back to you. You interpreted this as him wanting to see which book you picked out. Picking the book up from the table, you turned it around so that the front cover was facing towards Kaz so he could read it.
You watched as his eyes moved, following the lines of the text. His brown eyes met yours again and he offered an approved nod in your direction. He must of found your chose of book satisfactory. Soon enough his eyes drifted back down to his book.
Opening your book to the first page, you took a moment before staring. Attempting to be unobvious, you glanced up at your boyfriend, wanting to cherish the moment. It wasn't often that Kaz had the chance to take you out on a date - these quiet and peaceful moment were rather rare. It didn't help that your boyfriend looked angelic.
The sun reflected off the windows and caught his face just perfectly, enhancing his features and lighting him up. The details in his iris became more prominent and the way his hair shined added to its perfection. As he flipped to the next page in his book, you attention snapped to his hands. You couldn't help but be entranced by the way his hand's delicately moved the page and how the rested on the side on the book when not in use.
Once you relaxed you had been staring for a little too long and snapped out of your daze, you focussed back on your book and began to read. Rather quickly, the book was holding you hostage, and you were unable to stop reading. You had been to engrossed in the book that you hadn't realised Kaz was staring at you.
His eyes darted from every feature onyour face, to the clothes hanging on your body, and the way in which your hair was illuminated by the sun rays. He watched at how concentrated your eyes were and how your facial expressions would change dependent on the next sentence.
If someone had walked by and saw the look in his eyes, they would have called in pure awe or put love. Kaz lived for the simple moments he got to spend with you. Dates were far and few so he enjoyed them while he could. However, if you were to notice his staring then he would quickly deny it and act as if nothing happened.
An hour or so later, you and Kaz finished a chapter around the same time and agreed to get a hot drink. One of the reasons you both loved this specific library, was because it had its own little cafe inside which meant beverages were easy to access. Minutes later, you were both sat down at your table again, drinking your drinks in silence.
It was a comfortable silence - neither of you felt a need to start a conversation as all you needed was each others presence. For a split second you and Kaz made eye contact, you offered him a small smile. His gaze instantly shifted to somewhere behind you and you quickly picked up on the very slightly blush that coated his cheeks. A normal person probably wouldn't notice it, but you were used to picking up on the little details of your boyfriend.
Your smile only grew as you witnessed a tiny smirk make its way on the Kaz's face, it soon disappeared, but you were pleased you got to see it at least once while on this date.
The library suddenly darkened slightly. Looking out the window you saw a few grey clouds have ring over where the sun originally was. Not that you minded, you were sued to the dull and gloomy weather in Ketterdam. It could also be kind of nice on occasions.
You were brought out of your thoughts when you felt the texture of leather enclose around one of your hands. You swiftly looked down to notice Kaz's hand, holding yours in a very gentle and loose grip. You looked up to him, only to find him facing away from you, trying to avoid your eye contact.
Moving your focus back to the window, you weaved your fingers between a Kaz's, being carefully not to hold his hand too tight, in case he needed to draw away quickly.
Without realising, you both sat in that same position for the next thirty minutes or so - joined by your hands in the middle of the table, looking out of the window and watching as the grey clouds covered the whole of ketterdam. There was only peace between you and kaz as the rain drops began to fall from the clouds, and small smiles made their way onto your faces.

Hi sorry if there are a lot of mistakes here my english is very bad but i hope you like this story
brief description:Grace kills Grisha faster then Inej and saving Brekker life
The plan went completely awry, so Inez, Kaz, and I split up in the corridor near the main hall. We needed to leave; we had already attracted enough attention, as almost no one had ever seen our faces. We especially raised suspicions, Inez and I, as there were few girls in the Darkling's guard. Silently walking through several corridors, we heard voices of soldiers and panicked, stopping in our tracks.
"We'll have to split up," Inez suggested, and I gladly agreed. Being caught didn't bring me any joy.
We turn left and then part ways. Inez goes left again down the corridor, while I go straight to the end, also turning to the left. My heart pounds in my chest like crazy, and I'm trembling slightly. This kind of venture is new to me; it's not about robbing a stall or pickpocketing from drunks. The Small Palace... If someone had told me before that I'd be running around the palace dressed as General Kirigan's guard, enacting a shaky plan to steal the Sun Summoner, or rather her theft, I would've laughed in disbelief.
But fate apparently decided to have its fun with me, and rather cruelly at that. We're just steps away from getting caught by the guards, perhaps later having a personal audience with the Darkling himself and becoming enemies of the country. This wasn't how I envisioned ending my seventeen-year-old life.
The corridors are eerily similar, all adorned with paintings, large windows, ornate frames, and... everything is so white, it's making me nauseous! I'm used to darkness, the dim light of a kerosene lamp, worn-out walls, and the lingering scent of alcohol in the air. The barrel was a second home for me, after all.
I glance around at every turn, looking back, and even trying not to breathe. Damn, I'm scared, and I feel like at some point, I might start believing in Saints again. I step softly on the red carpet, but then I stop abruptly. I hear a shout from behind, but it's not the voice of one of ours. I decide to take a look, so I carefully step back, pressing against the wall, returning down the corridor through an arched doorway.
I only manage to catch a glimpse of Kaz standing in amazement a few meters away from a Grisha. The second one, ready to attack, has a hand with flames raised. I panic, and that makes me look around. I lift my gaze to my level, turning my head to the opposite balcony where Inez stands. I see fear in her eyes. Consuming fear, wrapping around her like a cocoon, but she's already reaching for the dagger in her thigh pocket.
Hundreds of thoughts race through my mind in a second, and I snatch a dagger from my belt. I won't let Inez kill them; as long as I'm alive, that will never happen. Just like her, I've never killed people in my life. I can't raise a hand against them, knowing the same could happen to me. Inez hasn't killed because she was devout, and her faith wouldn't allow her to commit such a sin.
"I didn't kill because I was scared. Scared to see the last gaze at the sky, hear the final heavy sigh. Afraid to witness the plea in the dying eyes at the last moment. Until that point, I hadn't drawn my knife with the intent to kill. But now, it's a completely different situation. Maybe I'll regret it later, perhaps it's the adrenaline coursing through me, but I have to spare Inej from her own sin and... protect Kaz Brekker.
"No!" I shout, and I can't understand whom I'm directing this exclamation to, but I immediately release the silver dagger at Grisha, aiming for his head for some reason.
So he won't suffer.
I freeze as the blade smoothly enters Grisha's neck halfway, immediately staining the steel with thick red liquid. There will be a lot of blood. I don't move, just watch as the body falls, then shift my gaze to Brekker.
I've never seen him like this. I'm certain that in my eyes, he sees not just incomprehension and fear, but also confusion, definitely not regret. Kaz has such a peculiar look... He knew I'd never take a life. Never, under any circumstances. Kaz knew that killing is as much of a problem for me as it is for Inej. But while she can kill when faced with mortal danger, I'll either defend myself or stand frozen until a bullet or metal pierces my heart.
Kaz looks puzzled. Troubled. And agitated. He stares at me, unblinking, his mouth slightly agape in astonishment, breathing heavily. I see sweat forming on his forehead, droplets rolling down his face, probably tickling his skin, but he continues to look at me. Unwaveringly. I don't look away.
I don't know how much time passes. I have no idea when the guards will catch up with us. I just keep looking at Kaz Brekker, biting my lip out of helplessness. I start to shake. The silence is broken by Inej, leaping down from the balcony, slowly approaching Grisha's corpse. She's not at ease either. Because of the force I used to throw the dagger into the lifeless body, I lean slightly forward. So, when I stand upright again, I instinctively recoil.
A lump forms in my throat. Adrenaline begins to ebb, panic surges with renewed force.
I've taken a life.
Kaz seems to realize I'm losing it, so he starts walking towards the balcony, knowing he won't be able to reach me anyway.
"Grace..."
My name sounds distant, as if I'm enclosed in a dome, in a vacuum somewhere. I step back from the railing, and Kaz takes another step forward, as if trying to stop me. And I retreat, continuing to look alternately at Grisha's body and my friend whose life I've almost taken. Taking away someone else's.
I turn around and continue towards the emergency exit, trying to keep a mental map of the Little Palace. I hear only my own name, shouted from Kaz Brekker's lips, chasing me.
I walk briskly, to avoid being caught by Kaz and Inej, the soldiers. Descending the stairs, I hide a few times behind protrusions to evade unwanted gazes. Ahead lies the final long corridor, and at the end, a small door where Jesper is supposed to be waiting for us.
"Grace!" I hear Inej's voice very close, and I turn towards her. They've been following me all this time, trying to escape just like me. Inej, usually composed, is now breathing deeply, her eyes wide open as she catches up to me, surpassing Kaz. "Grace..."
Inej stands beside me, ready to help at any moment, while I just lower my gaze to the floor, avoiding looking at her. Kaz approaches, limping more heavily on his right leg than usual. I quickly scan him, anxiously assessing his leg and overall condition. He needs help.
"Inej, go, tell Jesper to get ready for departure, I hope he's prepared," Kaz commands, but he continues to look at me. I can feel his gaze on my forehead. Inej nods obediently and gives my shoulder a reassuring squeeze. For a fraction of a second, it feels a bit easier. But then, after Inej leaves, Kaz takes two steps closer to me, leaning slightly forward, trying to catch my gaze.
"Grace, listen to me..."
"I killed him," I whisper to myself, but I was certain Kaz heard. Unexpectedly, he came even closer, stepping within arm's reach.
"Grace, look at me," Brekker asks, not commands, and I only press my lips together, still not lifting my gaze. "Grace!" I can't resist any longer and raise my eyes, meeting his piercing gaze. It turns out we're closer than an arm's length. "Grace, look," Kaz slightly spreads his arms, as if urging me to take a good look at him. "I'm alive. And it's all thanks to you. You saved me, Grace." He speaks in a half-whisper to avoid being overheard.
"Or so that I would hear..."
"Now pull yourself together!"
Now he's not asking anymore — Kaz commands, circling around me and brushing my shoulder. I can only sigh deeply, clenching my hands into fists.
I might burst into tears

First kiss
Short story
So you guys have been in a relationship - for some time now
- Working on his trauma was hard but it was worth it
- Technically you guys were together but you just didn't announce to anyone
- But the Crows knew
- They would always share tiny smiles with each when you guys touched briefly or had those intimate moments that didn't need physical touch
- They would just look at each other and be like 'our ship is flying ya'll!'
- Back to the kiss
- You guys have actually had a few pecks here and there that were caused from jealousy, chaos, and fear
- Ya'll just weren't ready so they just - weren't right... And panic attacks commence
- So reminder you guys have been together for a few years now
- You guys were in Jesper and Wylan's - mansion
- You and the Crows had been were visiting before and just decided to stay over for tonight
- And in your own little separate room
- And you were going to go sleep somewhere else
- Maybe the couch you didn't sleep great without Kaz's or at least presence and there was no couch in there just a bed
- And he grabs your arm
And you freeze momentarily because he doesn't have gloves on and you honestly thought that he was kinda exhausted and done for today
- Apparently not
So you slowly turn around to face him
- And he has this look in his eyes
- You just what to melt right on the spot when you see them
- Because it has this pleading look in them, love, and some desperation
- How could you say no?
"Are you okay?"
- By anyone else this would look like a simple question but in reality it was 'what do you need, I'll be there was for ect.'
- And he just takes a step closer to you and takes in a breath
- He's trying to find the words to use and he's struggling a bit and honestly it looks kinda cute
- Finally he's says: "Can we try to kiss?"
- And your just blown away because you didn't think he would want this, or even be able to try and you were okay with that
- Speechless you just nod your head
- And he takes another step closer
-And he shakily places a his hands on your shoulders
- And he leans in a bit and you look him right in the eyes and his breath hitches
- "Are you sure?" It's more of are you ready and please don't do anything if your uncomfortable I won't be mad
- Damn you and Kaz with your basically mind reading
And you never got an answer to that question
- Because he just kiss's you
- It's really light at first but then he deepens it and his fall to your waist (somehow)

-Your kissing!
- And when you finally pull away he rests his forehead on your and yes!
- He does kinda separate your bodies though so their not touching as much

description: everyone knew that Y/n was Kaz girl
Warning: jealous Kaz
It was funny because any possible 'suitors' for Y/n magically disappeared but no one said anything. Of course, they didn't, if they wanted to keep their lives then they wouldn't dare.
That was fine, everyone just kept to themselves and prayed to the saints that they weren't a possible threat to Dirtyhands. What frustrated the Crows is that neither Y/n nor Kaz would admit their feelings towards each other.
The Crows (for once) were all down in the crow club not planing one of their evil heists that usually mess up the world, today they were just relaxing.
Well, maybe not Kaz. Kaz never really fully relaxed, at least not with so many people around.
He saw Y/n laugh with Inej and Nina and he couldn't help the way his eyes travelled down her body or the way that he wanted to keep hearing that laugh on repeat for the rest of his life.
He also couldn't help the fact that he wanted to be the one to make her laugh like that.
Kaz sighed internally, even he knew, the bastard of the fucking barrel is head over heels for Y/n L/n. The girl who would make him dance in the rain with her, the girl who he would gladly kiss if it wasn't for his touch aversion.
She perched her head up a bit and scanned the crowd seemingly looking for something.
Or someone.
Kaz felt something boiling bubble up in his gut but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Why would Y/n be looking for someone? It better not be for a date...
Okay, maybe he did know what he was feeling at the moment because he felt it almost every day when another person was around Y/n that wasn't him.
And fuck, he knew it was because he was no good. She deserved so much more than someone who couldn't even brush his hand up against someone without getting near to a panic attack. But he couldn't, he really couldn't get out of the mood he was in now till the situation was over. Trust him he tried.
A man who was fairly good-looking comes up behind Y/n and tackle's her into a hug. He nearly goes up to stand but she starts laughing and embracing the boy like they haven't seen each other in years.
He grips onto his cane harder than he ever has in his life. Don't make a scene, don't make a scene. Please, don't make a scene.
Y/n giggles and kiss's the boy on his cheek and all his self will goes out and dies in the harbour.
He shoots up out of his seat and walks faster to Y/n and the terrible man than he should with his bad leg and slams his cane in between the two. He glares his worst glare basically seeing red when he looks at the man and all of him wants to bash his head in as an example to everyone. His mind doesn't even think it's a bad plan but he knows Y/n would not like whoever this was to die like that so he would have to somehow come up with another plan.
"If you dare look at her again you won't ever see again," Kaz says lowly and icily calm contrasting to what he's really feeling inside. Red hot rage burst's inside him becoming an ugly green that grows and infects him.
"Kaz!" Y/n semi-yells trying not to make a scene, but he was sure eyes were already on him. He was Dirtyhands after all.
He turns to her sharply knowing his expression isn't one that even a spider would want to see but it sits on his face all the same.
"What." He growls out trying so hard to not snap at the angel before him.
Without thinking his gloved hand goes to lightly touch her neck and he doesn't feel nausea and sickness. He only feels the warmth of the girl that he loves even with the gloves on. Fuck he loves her, and he had to admit it to himself right now?
She visibly shivers at his touch like she enjoyed it but her face quickly turns back to the angry one that she was wearing before.
"He's my brother!"
Now that he thinks about it he did look similar to Y/n, and the context of everything looked more sibling-like more than anything. How the hell did he not see it? He groaned on the inside, he was never doing anything without thinking it through first again. He guessed that plan was shit though because he could barely think around Y/n.
Speaking of Y/n...
The young woman growl and he feels his eyebrows raise. Oh shit. She balls her hands into fits and stomps off. He tries not to run after her but because of his leg,he can't go nearly as fast as she can and he quickly falls behind.
"Y/n!"
He gets to her room and she slams the door in his face.
Great.
He picks the lock of the door for a few minutes as he curses himself for letting her use one of the harder locks to get into. But after just under a minute he hears the familiar click and he slides open the door.
Luckily the girl is in her room and he's happy that she didn't run off right away. Though her arms are crossed around her chest and even someone standing two buildings away could tell this girl was pissed beyond hell.
"What the fuck were you thinking?" She says lowly trying not to yell at him.
He wasn't thinking, all he could see were his arms around her and her lips on his cheek. Kaz was surprised he managed a sentence when he decided to make a 'scene'
"I haven't seen him in years! Kaz, years! All I wanted was a happy reunion but you had to screw that up too!" She throws her hands in the air in exasperation.
Kaz knew that she wasn't planning on staying in Ketterdam at first and he didn't even know why she did stay, but his friends (or the closest people he could call friends) told him it was because of him. Brushing off that topic before was easy, but now look where it got them.
"I wasn't thinking." He finally finds the right words and breaks the silence that was washing over them both.
Don't screw this up Brekker.
"I didn't think he was your brother."
"So what? I was just another investment you had to protect because you thought I was stupid." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. He swallowed trying to find the right words. But he couldn't, there were just no words how he could describe how he feels for her.
So show her dumbass.
Slowly taking off his gloves he place's a hand on her cheek. It's feather-light and barely there, but he doesn't feel the cold or the waves and he doesn't feel like he's drowning. Her skin feels warm and it makes him feel alive, he hasn't felt like that in what seems like forever.
"Oh." Is the only thing that comes out of her mouth and she smiles a bit?
He rolls his eyes at her and takes his hand away. "Ya, oh." He rasps.
Y/n reaches out and carefully takes his left hand in hers and slowly but surely they intertwine their hands together.
Her smile slowly fades away as she looks at their hands.
"What are we?" The question hangs in the air creating more space in between them than ever before. Kaz close's his eyes for a second and lets that hungry feeling wash over him. The feeling of jealousy and the feeling of possessiveness when he thought she was with another man.
But then he lets the little moments warp him in their warm embrace. The moments when she offhandedly mentioned that what her favourite flower was, so then those flowers would just appear in her room. Or when she saved him and he couldn't think of any moment where she looked more beautiful, more saint-like, more like herself than ever. He sucks in those moments never letting them go.
"You are mine." His other hand goes to her neck again. "And I am yours." He lets his eyes rake her body committing every single little detail to memory and he sees her blush faintly a bit as he drinks her in.
They stand there in silence just enjoying each other's presence till Y/n looks un at looked more beautiful, more saint-like, more like herself than ever. He sucks in those moments never letting them go.
