Any tips on drawing/learning expressions, Especially in small details?
This is gonna be a bad tutorial but when drawing expressions I just think about ALL the ways I can use the stuff on a face; I tried to make a list here and show it with some examples dshdhdjf
Of course you DON'T need to use everything on that list to properly express an emotion. it's just stuff to take into account
Here's some more examples with other type of feelings and how you can make them more aparent by using stuff I mentioned
It's a broad topic and each artist has their own way and quirks of approaching expressions, for the small details many many artist rely on wrinkles; one wrinkle line placed in the right way can add so much subtlety! A bit of a joke example but:
I hope this was a bit helpful at least! Don't hesitate to study expressions from your fave artists and understand what they did draw to portray an emotion!
