did i tell u guys i got into an argument on twitter bc i said foxes are dogs and someone tried to bring up their actual fuckin. classification or whatever and i just said “foxes are dogs cause they are fluffye” and they kept arguing with me. the entire time i was like “you will not survive the immigration to tumblr you are lucky we are not there right now”

ermmmm here’s why i think the different project sekai groups have the popularity they have
this isn’t based on their event stories or main stories. i haven’t read any for any of the groups.
leo/need (least popular)
the characters are fairly normal looking. unlike the rest of the groups, the characters (apart from saki) have hair colors that could be considered natural hair. (ichika’s on thin ice.) don’t get me wrong, i LOVE leonii’s designs. but most people want something more stylized.
unfortunately, there’s some misogyny to put into perspective here. especially when you consider saki has a brother who is infinitely more popular than she is.
the school theme. most people are sick of school, so to have a band whose unit outfits (especially post-3rd anni) are very school uniform-esque will hinder its popularity.
more more JUMP! (less popular, but moreso than leonii)
again, there’s a bias against the girls of the game. they aren’t connected to any male characters, so people unfortunately tend to blip over them.
having a group of internationally (?) known idols isn’t super relatable to the average person. i know that’s not what momojan is about, but post project sekai players have no clue how to step into the shoes of an idol.
they’re slightly more popular that leonii, i believe, because they’re not school themed. that’s all i can think of.
both leonii and momojan deserve more attention, to me
vivid BAD SQUAD (average popularity)
there’s guys in the group. i’m just gonna state it now. there’s two guys, and people care an unhealthy amount for the yaoi.
anhane is one of, if not the most canon relationships. that’s not to say there are no relationships in leonii or momojan (because there definitely are), but anhane is one of the most explicit.
as i stated just now, people like the MLM/WLW dynamic in the group. unfortunately the fandom (and the game to a degree) tend to divide this unit into the vivids and the bad dogs.
the characters are, generally, more relatable just due to their casual style of dress and speech. kohane and toya less so, but akian are especially casual and many people, i can imagine, would relate to that.
wonderlands x showtime (tied with niigo for most popular)
like i said about vivibad, there’s men. this fandom has some sort of misogyny problem.
bright colors.
the fabled disbandment arc draws a lot of people in, since it’s the only group that doesn’t focus on staying together.
rui is one of the most blatant autism allegories in the game. (i had a rui hyperfixation, so there may be characters who also present this allegory but he’s the most explicit to me)
rui also is viewed in an extremely gender-neutral way by the fandom. he’s the fuckgender little meow meow.
nightcord at 25:00 (tied with wansho for most popular)
the use of discord as their get-together platform. it’s a situation many of us could put ourselves in, and likely one some of us are in.
mizuki is a trans girl. now, you can view the other characters pretty much any way you like, but mizuki is canonically trans. a transgender character this explicit in this style of media isn’t common.
the shinonome siblings. ena and akito have the sibling dynamic that, of the three in the game, most people will be able to relate to.
the depression. niigo’s story weaves a tapestry of, like the aptly named event, elpis at the depths of despair. they all need serious help. they’re the most angsty group.
i really wish i had more to say here but i physically cannot sit through the stories so i have to scratch the surface
