Pakistan is drowning, and we need help
Since July of this year, Pakistan has been affected by heavy nonstop monsoons and is yet to stop. It is only getting worse. Rural areas in Balochistan, Sindh, KPK, Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan are the most affected.
As of now, at least 937 people have died and over 500,000 homes have been destroyed along with livestock deaths and ruined infrastructure. The floods have left nearly 30 million people homeless
Most of Balochistan is still submerged. Locals are forced to flee and cannot account for their missing relatives until much later. More than 100 districts all across the provinces have been impacted.
Quetta, a major city of Balochistan, has been cut off from the rest of the country as the roads and highways are destroyed.
We get monsoons every year and we are used to them but this is not normal. We are in our 8th monsoon cycle when we usually get 3-4 cycles.
Two of the worst-hit provinces – Balochistan and Sindh – have received 298mm and 689mm rains respectively this year, which is about 400 percent more than the 30-year average. (c)
Along with the floods, there are also landslides and glacier bursts that have claimed lives and made the situation worse.
People from other cities were unable to get in contact with their affected relatives because they did not have electricity. The cloud cover meant no solar power either.
There are more monsoon predictions till September. I don't know how we're going to come back from this.
This is worse than the 2010 floods and the government doesn't give a shit.
This is going to have disastrous impacts on our economy and society but what does it matter? after all, the people are only there to vote, right? :)
It is the volunteers and NGOs helping, it is the public. There was no help when Karachi flooded and people died and they don't care now either.

General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request in person. But my ship has fallen under attack and my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory system of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.

“We thought he was there to help us. I tried to help them but I couldn’t. I was too weak. When he left, I played dead. Hid with the bodies. Felt them go cold. They were the only family I knew, and he slaughtered them.”

very funny that obi-wan and anakin are brothers, anakin and ahsoka are siblings, but obi-wan is definitely not ahsoka’s brother. he’s her uncle at best

The return of General Obi-Wan Kenobi: an action choreography breakdown
The action choreography for Obi-Wan’s lightsaber scenes in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series episode 4 is SO GOOD. Every one of Obi-Wan’s movements had intentional narrative impact. Every. Movement.
He starts off by striking from the darkness, still rusty and lacking in confidence. He wields his lightsaber like a vibroblade, two-handed, heavy, overextended. It takes four strikes to bring each stormtrooper down.
They run together. In the corridor, the seeker droid starts firing blaster bolts. Obi-Wan instinctively takes up a shoulder-wide stance, lightsaber aloft by his right shoulder. Form IV: Ataru. The lightsaber form of his childhood, his apprenticeship.
He deflects a blaster bolt away from Leia. Then another. Stormtroopers flood in from behind him. He tries to deflect a bolt at the Stormtroopers, but it misses, because he’s out of practice. His body is catching up with his muscle memory. But he parries again, and again, and the next shot downs a trooper. He’s stumbling through Ataru stances like half forgotten memory but each step is smoother and more fluid and then the droid is down. The last trooper is still shooting and by then he can act on instinct - and now the trooper goes down in one hit.
Obi-Wan spins his lightsaber afterwards. He doesn’t know why he does it, it’s just years of instinct, written into his bones.
In the next corridor every single deflected bolt is another trooper down. But Obi-Wan and Leia are pinned on both sides, and he finally shifts his weight and moves into a rapid series of flowing movements, a deadly whirl of light. This is the lightsaber style of ultimate defense, the style that proved in the Clone Wars to be devastatingly effective against blaster crossfire: Form III, Soresu. This is the the style Obi-Wan used in his prime.
This is lightsaber style of General Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This is how you use an action scene to show narrative progression. Obi-Wan walked into the torture chamber as a rusty, determined hermit. Five minutes later, he stood in the corridor as General Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Yk what kills me about this. Obi-Wan really had every right to be just as angry at the clones as Kanan did. Yes he was older and he didn’t witness his master being murdered in front of him BY THE CLONES ANYWAY, but he lost literally every single one of his friends on the Council (aside from Yoda) to Order 66 and Palpatine. Order 66 almost killed him too. He heard Cody asking for confirmation of his death almost immediately after getting shot down. He had to kill members of the 501st just to survive Coruscant and change the signal being broadcasted out of the temple. And then he sees a clone for the first time in 10 years. The face that he first fought in the rain all those years ago on Kamino. The face of his Commander. The face of Anakin’s Captain. The face of every single clone that he’d fought side by side with for an entire war, the faces that he knew killed the closest people he had to a family. And what does Obi-Wan do? He does not ignore him, he does not show any signs of bitterness nor resentment. He gives him money. Maybe in doing so he silently thanks every single clone that ever died for him, maybe he sees a bit of himself in an old beaten down veteran who was once the face of goodness and hope and everything the Old Republic stood for, scavenging in the streets and just trying to survive. Perhaps for Obi-Wan, it’s getting to say goodbye to the friends he maybe never really knew why he lost. Or maybe it really was just Obi-Wan, for the billionth time, being so selfless and kind when almost nobody in his shoes could have done the same.
