Just an FYI to the avid Rhysand/IC stans: It is completely possible for a bad person to good things, and a good person to do bad things. It's possible for someone to be a victim of abuse, and an abuser themselves. "Rhysand suffered for his people and deserves all the love" or "Rhysand has a need for control because of his trauma utm," is unbelievable.
Yes, I will acknowledge Rhysand is a victim of SA. I will acknowledge that he had good intentions when protecting Velaris, saving Mor, and fighting Hybern in two wars. However, being a victim doesn't excuse your actions when you abuse others. Under no circumstances does his trauma excuse not telling Feyre about the risk to her life with her pregnancy, or threatening to kill Nesta for no real reason honestly.
You could argue that he had good intentions and didn't want to cause Feyre any stress, just like he had good intentions when stealing Tarquin's book (that he never gave back), or protecting only one third of his court (assuming that the NC is comprised of Velaris, The HC, and Illyria exclusively,) and perhaps he even had good intentions when he tried to make that bargain with Feyre (I seriously doubt it though). However, bad consequences to bad actions that have good intentions DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT make those bad actions okay.
No matter how good Rhysand's intentions were in hiding Velaris, people in Illyrian and the HC suffered under Amarantha's reign. No matter how good his intentions were, Nesta was stuck with her toxic, abusive, stalker in the HOW along with a coward who stood by and watched her get abuse against her will until she was mentally broken. No matter how good his intentions, people still got hurt. People still died.
The families of the murdered children probably don't care what his intentions are. I sincerely doubt the people of HC or Illyria care how good his intentions are. It doesn't matter how good his intentions were when he met with the mortal queens, because Nesta and Elain still got hurt, practically murdered, and put back together again before being forced into a life they didn't want. Lucien clearly didn't care about his intentions when he was brought to The NC. He only backed down when he was threatened.
So I'll say this one more time. Louder for the people in the back: GOOD INTENTIONS DON'T MAKE THE BAD CONSEQUENCES INCONSEQUENTIAL ALL OF A SUDDEN!

Could we also get some justice for Clare Beddor while we're at it, please? According to Feyre, she and Nesta were friends, and we've seen how Nesta treats the people she considers friends through Gwyn and Emerie. A part of me thinks she does know, from that meeting at the end of ACOWAR when Feyre decides to share her story or whatever, but it's possible she left the Clare bit out, since we don't hear word for word what she said to them. So there's a chance she doesn't know. I want to believe she doesn't since Nesta isn't the type of girl who'd let someone hurt her friends and get away with it. Though, since SJM seems to have the memory of a chimpanzee, I wouldn't be surprised if she can't even remember who Clare is anymore.

This makes me mad too. I also hate that Amren decides that because the blacksmith brought them to Rhysand instead of Nesta, that it's finders, keepers.
Especially when it's unlikely that he knows Nesta is at the HOW, and likely assumed she lived at the River house with everyone else, since she came in with Cassian too. Either that, or he just couldn't get into the HOW to give it to her himself.
If anything, the cauldron being involved in getting those swords to Rhysand is more likely to be to spite Nesta, because it hates her. I don't get why people or characters forget that. The cauldron is mad at her. It hates her. That's why it took Elain. That's why it searched for her on the battlefield, but it didn't kill her because Elain loved Nesta. It's not going to do Nesta any favours.
Only Rhysand or Amren would be so self important and delusional as to think it Rhysand's destiny or whatever.
The fact Rhys gave away NESTA’S possession (the sword) that SHE hand-crafted and which is imbued with HER magic to Eris (whom he doesn’t even like) while also making her dance for him despite her trauma…

Am I the only one who finds these comments kind of weird? I get Mor and Cassian were likely trying to lighten the mood or be nice or something, but it comes across as really creepy to me. Especially to someone you barely know, that suffered a lot to help them and is still dealing from the trauma of it. It's scarier still when you remember that Nesta is still getting used to this fae body, plus Mor is a warrior so she probably could attack Nesta effectively while she'd struggle to defend herself.
And Mor even has the audacity to use that moment as the point from which she starts verbally accosting Nesta at every turn. This is the first and last "nice" thing she ever says.
It just comes across as creepy and weird, more so since Nesta doesn't know them. You can’t really blame Nesta for how she reacted to it, even though I find her reaction to be pretty mild tbh.
It might've been better received if they were closer friends, but they're not. It's the kind of thing that would make me feel uncomfortable or even slightly unsafe around someone.

Cassian: I'm sick of these games.
Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that trauma was a game to you. If it's so easy to just stop being traumatised, then you should've said something to Elain about that a whole book ago? Or perhaps said something to Mor 5 centuries ago. Since Cassian made it clear 50 times a day that he's 'seen it before' and 'knows what she's feeling' or whatever, he must clearly be the expert on the situation. Imagine how much easier life will be now that everyone can just stop being traumatised.
Let's be serious for a moment though, if it was that easy, Cassian might have actually stopped making himself the victim in every scenario regarding Nesta throughout all of ACOFAS and ACOSF.
The fact SJM wrote it so Cassian, who said shit like this, was the one in the right the whole time in ACOSF makes me wanna puke.

"We don't treat Elain and Nesta the same because Elain Apologised,"
Elain and Nesta aren't the same people. They can't be compared. While I understand that Nesta said some cruel things in that cabin, so did Feyre. While Nesta could've made things a bit easier on all of them, so could Feyre. They both have reasons to apologise to one another, so if you're going to condemn Nesta for not doing so, then Feyre deserves the same treatment.
But if Nesta did want to apologise, what makes you think it would be the second that Feyre got back? And in front of fae, no less. Nesta is complicated character who carries herself with pride and is considered a very private person, and is described as being queen like multiple times. The two have more issues to work through than just a few mean comments, and the moments they have the most sincere heart to hearts, are when they're alone. Without Rhysand peering from behind a door way, listening in and commentating whenever he feels like.
Looking back, in ACOTAR 1, we learn some of the myths humans tell about the Fae including that they can't lie, and they have to and that if you catch one, then it has to tell you what you want to know. Both of those turn out to be false, since fae can lie, and Ianthe caught the Surreal, but we learn in ACOWAR that it wouldn't tell her anything.
We can assume this means that the rules the fae follow in our mythology are the same ones that humans believe about fae in ACOTAR, meaning it's a fair assumption that one of the many stories about fae include never letting yourself be indebted to them. Saying things like 'thank you' or 'I'm sorry' comes across like as owing them something, and Nesta is, at this point, under the impression that doing so will cause the fae to hold it over her head and use to demand things of her for as long as she lives, if not ask something straight up impossible to make her more indebted to them.
On top of that, Feyre just asked her for a favour that could get her and Elain killed. The Mortal Queens could've just decided to have Elain and Nesta arrested and executed for collaborating with fae, or have them exiled even. It wasn't a small thing that Feyre asked for, and basically peer pressured her into, with Elain. So it's understandable that pleasantries and apologies are the last things on her mind, when her and Elain's life could be forfeit at any moment.
Even if Rhysand offers to protect them, what could he do? Nesta's under the impression that the Fae hate humans, look down on them and would treat them horribly if she crossed into their lands. Moreover, she has a whole life there, that they're suggesting she could drop to move to the other end of the country without so much as a message to their father? Or an idea of what's waiting for them? To abandon their home, friends, family and peoeple?
For what? Potential servitude? Amongst creatures she were taught were slave driving monsters? To live under her little sister's rule (cause even if she wasn't HL at this point, as fae, she has significant power over Nesta. Plus the ruler of said land they're offering to take her too openly favours Feyre, and kind of Elain but hates her, so she'd basically still be living by Feyre's whims) for the rest of her short life? Literally what part of that is appealing?
So Nesta not apologising to Feyre at that dinner, makes sense. Our girl had bigger things to worry about. She probably would have if she Feyre didn't outright abandon her to deal with her trauma alone, only showing up when she wanted to parade Nesta around at parties for her own joy, without considering how it feels to her. Or when her court, who don't like her and whom she doesn't like either, show up to insult her, and blame her for having trauma.
If Feyre and Nesta had more moments like the one in the library, or the one all three had after Az and Feyre rescued Elain, Nesta would've likely healed and apologised on her own. If the IC had just stayed out of it, then all three sisters would've figured things out, on their own. The IC just want something to complain about, so like the CON and the HC, they make a problem, and they complain that it exists.
Also, if I remember right, Feyre herself said she wanted to start over at that dinner. So unless Feyre or Nesta want to bring it up or talk about it, why does any of her family get to hold it over her head for the rest of immortality? Feyre literally just called it water under the bridge and all three of them were going through their own shit at the time, so let them actually work through their own issues privately, and I'll bet that they'll solve it on their own within a year.

"Cassian would be such a good father!" "He's such a girl dad!" "I hope we get a Nessian baby in the next Acotar book!"
That would be the start of a horror story. Not because of the risk of death thing, since it was taken care of at the end of ACOSF. No. Nessian are not ready for a kid, and quite possibly never will be at this rate. There are 101 reasons why neither Nesta or Cassian would be good parents at this current stage in their relationship and their personal development, especially if the dynamic we see in the HOFAS bonus chapter is anything to go by.
When you become a parent, you are responsible for your child's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, and should provide for them within the best of your abilities. That goes beyond food, shelter and clothing. It means support, love and encouragement, fostering a safe, nurturing environment for them to grow up, free to be themselves.
Nessian can't give that. Not entierly anyway. I don't believe that either of them wouldn't love their child. What concerns me is if they would love their child enough.
Cassian has proven time and time again that he will chose Rhysand over Nesta, no matter what. If he can't chose his damn mate, how could he chose his child. What would he do if it came down to choosing between his Rhysand and his mate & child?
We've established that the mating bond is likely to be the Cauldron's form of selective breeding based on power, so it's highly likely that their child would be incredibly powerful too. The IC have been shown to go as far as lie and manipulate their own in order to exploit their powers. That is what happened to Nesta in ACOSF time and time again. Hell, it's been happening since the IC met Nesta in ACOMAF.
It's not beyond possibility for the IC to lie and manipulate or guilt trip Nessian's child the way they did to Nesta, so they can exploit that power. The worst part is, Cassian, thus far, hasn't given us a reason to think he wouldn't go along with it. If Amren, or Rhysand decide they need Nessian's kid to do something "for the good of the court" but Nessian's kid doesn't want to, or is reluctant? Would Cassian really stand up to Rhysand for the sake of his child? He doesn't love Nesta enough to stand up for her, why would he try to stand up for his kid?
Even if he did stand up for NK, (I'm calling his and Nesta's hypothetical kid NK from this point on, to make things easier) what's to stop the IC from going behind his and Nesta's back? What's to stop Cassian, from going behind Nesta's back on the off chance that he agrees with the IC but Nesta refuses to allow it (assuming NK isn't an adult, which in this world is about 50-80 years)? I wouldn't put it past Nesta's own sisters, and so-called family to undermine her rights and position as NK's mother by going behind her back and making the kid do what they want anyway.
They might not even bother hiding it from her and, like the intervention, tell her it's happening, regardless of how she feels. What proof do we have that Cassian would stand up for her or NK? Would stop the IC, for his child's sake, and defend his mate's right as Nk's mother? He wouldn't. Current, cannon Cassian, wouldn't. He simply doesn't care for Nesta enough to defend her rights and boundaries as his mate, so we can't believe he would defend NK from the IC, if it came down to it.
Then there's the issue of Illyria. Some people are of the opinion that the bat boys would send their kids to Illyrian war camps because it's their culture, while others argue that they wouldn't because it was traumatising. Personally, I think certain parts of Illyrian culture needs to become part of their history instead, like the child soldiers, and wing clippings, for example, but that's not the point.
Rhysand claims to advocate for change and equality in Illyria by thrusting a sword into a woman's hand, and basically forcing them to train too. Based on the argument with Devlon in ACOFAS, it's safe to assume that some level of force and authority is being used to make the women train. But handing them a sword and making them train, presumably in skin tight leathers, while men gawk and stare at them, isn't Equality.
Tumblr media
Equality, by definition, means that men and women have the same status, rights and opportunities.
Opportunity, by definition, is "A set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something".
Equality in Illyria won't exist until men and women alike have the choice to not be warriors. Women like Emerie are lucky enough to inherit businesses, but the social circumstances mean that while women may, technically, run businesses, social pressures prevent it. They either wouldn't get business, or other Illyrians might refuse to sell business licenses or stock to them.
These same social pressures are what the IC apply to women when they make them train with the men, without considering what they want. These are the same social pressures that the IC would apply to NK if they decided that they wanted her at these camps. Not only would they consent to leaving one of the youngest members of their 'family' with a people who are so openly hostile to them and to women in general, what are the odds that they would hear any objections from NK?
If NK said they didn't want to train, but the IC wanted them to become a warrior, either to help protect Velaris or to, once more, exploit their powers, or their potential strength (Illyrian killing power, whatever that is).
Cassian claims to love his people, but won't provide them with the opportunities they deserve. He doesn't look or listen to find out what they need, and he did the same to Nesta. He forced her to do things she didn't want to, without asking or understanding what she wanted or needed. If his child were to refuse training, or express interest in other areas, would he ignore them too? Would he force them to train as well?
If his child went through something traumatic (which is pretty much guaranteed with the IC as their family), would he resort to the same methods they used to break Nesta? Once again, we have no reason to believe he wouldn't strip his children of their personal choices, all so they become loyal, complacent weapons of the IC.
What's worse, is that those children may even become weapons to use against Nesta. Who's to stop the IC from telling Nesta's own kids lies and stories to turn them against her? They isolated her in an attempt to break her into compliance, what are the odds they wouldn't bar Nesta from her children? They used Elain to strong arm Nesta into doing their bedding, who's to say they wouldn't use her children? Or manipulate her children against her in some way? Who's to say Cassian wouldn't just let it happen, or even actively participate in the manipulation.
Cassian's loyalty and dedication to the IC would always come before Nesta and their potential children. He's not ready to be a father because he could never put his children before his brother or the rest of his family. The truth I'm seeing is that Cassian, clearly, doesn't love his mate, and probably wouldn't love his child as much as the IC. He wouldn't love them enough to stand up for them. He wouldn't love them enough to not manipulate or coerce them into using their body or powers in a way that the IC approves of (yeah, I also never thought I'd have to read, much less write, that a parent wouldn't love their kid enough to not manipulate them). He's unfit, at this point, to be a parent.
Moving on to Nesta, who still has several unresolved mommy issues, clearly. Her mother raised her to marry a prince and, assumedly, be the perfect wife. Given that the way women are treated in the mortal lands, it's not a stretch to imagine that part of that training would mean obeying her husband (or in this case, mate,) and looking the other way if he cheated, amongst other things.
These values may explain why Nesta isn't as assertive against the IC or Cassian as we'd like. Even if it's subconsciously, some of those values seem likely to be so ingrained in her that she can't break away, as we see when she takes Rhysand's abuse in HOFAS bonus chapter. It's also a fair to assume it may be part of the reason she does what the IC ask when searching for the trove. I'm not saying that those traditions and her mommy issues are the only reason why, there's plenty of other reasons why Nesta acts in these ways, including the brainwashing she got in ACOSF, but it's reasonable to assume that they're at least part of the reason why.
Speaking of brainwashing, Nesta was brainwashed in ACOSF. She was beat down and forced into submission to the point where she even tells Gwyn that she's glad Feyre did that for her. Nesta gave up her dream and desires to travel, her power, her autonomy, and her aspirations just to be subservient to the IC. She became barely a shell of who she was by the end of that book.
That's not to say this is Nesta's fault. Not by a long shot. This is a result of abuse at the hands of the IC, her mother and Cassian. Abuse that left Nesta way more vulnerable and malleable than she was before, stripping her of anything the IC didn't approve of. Meanwhile Cassian did nothing. She thought that she had to earn Cassian's love, despite him being her so-called mate. She seriously thought that she, as her parents' daughter, had to earn their love, for fucks sake people.
What happens if the IC decide that they don't like way NK is growing up, or that they don't like how the kid is dealing with potential trauma? Will they push Nesta into believing her own child doesn't deserve her love? Will Nesta, at any point, consider if her child doesn't deserve her love if they don't have an interest in training or court affairs or training their powers? f
Nesta, like Cassian, is unfit to be a parent, for similar, yet very different reasons. Nesta's self hatred and the lack of ability to stand up to the IC (not saying that's her fault) would bring into question if she would be able to stand up for her children. If Cassian won't stand up for either of them, then how would she, if she feels that her kids deserve better, and that the IC are better. If she feels powerless, and weak, because of their abuse, she likely wouldn't be able to stand up to them. If they come after her together, she wouldn't be able to stand up to them.
I'm not saying any of this is Nesta's fault. She is a victim of abuse. Plain and simple. However, it's also reasonable to decide that she'd be unfit as a parent at that point in time, in large part, due to the environment that was created around her. It's not an environment to raise a child. Especially since Nesta is so brainwashed that it took a stranger from another world (Ember) who knew nothing about her pointing out how messed up her situation was for her to begin considering it as a possibility.
Nesta's own self hatred wouldn't allow her to see anybody but herself as the problem, so she likely wouldn't stand up to the IC or Cassian for her kids, in part because it was so ingrained that she had to obey her husband, but also, in part, because she's less likely to be able to fully understand if or how the IC or Cassian's actions hurt them. Or to consider those actions unnecessary. Even if it came down to mating bond divorce being the best option, if kids are involved, she might not end up going through with it, which can often be worse for kids than a divorce.
Nesta would love her kids so fiercely, but it would be difficult for that love to outweigh the brainwashing, self hatred and abuse that has been engraved into her mind for practically her whole life. She wouldn't love them enough for it to overshadow those voices in her head, through, once again, no fault of her own.
Then the kid themselves. Bringing a child into that mess would be just as torturous for the poor kid.
Imagine what it would do to a child, seeing your uncle threaten to kill your mother, while your aunts, and father and rest of your family let it happen. All because your mother tried to do the right thing?
Or, another scenario, is if NK overhears their aunt (Mor) complaining about how horrible their mother is, and how she belongs in a place you were taught was terrible and evil because she's just like them.
What would it do to NK, to grow up hearing Amren, somebody their Uncle and mother trust and love, refer to their mom in reference to how useful her powers are, or to NK themselves by how useful they are to the court.
NK would likely be forced to do things they don't want to 'show a united front' or to train because it sets an example to the Illyrians. NK would be exploited for their potential power, an initiative likely spearheaded by Amren, and trained to be just as blindly loyal to Nyx as Cassian is to Rhysand.
The child would likely be left to Amren to train, with or without Nesta's consent, and even if she did find the strength to vehemently reject the IC's methods of trying to raise her kid, she'd be punished. She'd be locked up and told she was bad for her own child's wellbeing, while breaking down the poor kid the way they broke her down. They stripped Nesta of her autonomy and freedom. If she had a kid, it wouldn't be long before they stripped her of her role as a mother.
At the end of the day, Nessian wouldn't be great parents, because the IC aren't a great family. They have issue upon issue to work through before they can consider their relationship even somewhat functional or healthy, much less bring a child into it.
So no. Nessian doesn't need a kid. They'd be terrible parents and need to figure their own shit out before they even consider having a kid. Nesta isn't in a good place, mentally, physically, or emotionally, to be able to act with the kid's best interests at heart. Meanwhile Cassian is either delusional enough that he thinks Rhysand's best interests equal everybody's best interests, including his kid's. So, he won't bother to stop Rhys or the IC from using the kid however he wants.
Which is why I'm begging you. Please. No. No Nessian kid in the next book. Not in any book. Not unless SJM somehow fixes the relationship between Nesta and Cassian, and by that, I mean figure out how to fix Cassian's character from ACOSF.
(On a side note, Nesta's basically still a kid by fae standards, and so is Feyre. So why? Why would they not wait anyway? Cause ew.)

I'm currently reading A curse for true love for the first time, and it's slow going. In part because I have upcoming exams and in part because I just don't want to deal with Apollo anymore.
I want Jacks to come back and for Evangeline to remember and for us all to be happy again. Is that so much to ask? The worst part is that Apollo has moments of being so nice, and sweet to Evangeline, which I hate because I won't forgive him, but it's also scary.
He's isolating, gaslighting, love bombing and manipulating Evangeline like it's second nature, all hidden under gentle kisses and pretty dresses. He's taking advantage of her amnesia, which is his fault, granted, to mould her into who he wants and maybe a part of her realises it, but his affections and moments of seemingly caring, blind her to it. It's abuse and yet it's so well disguised.
It's terrifying and it gives me some serious trust issues. I've made it to chapter 9, and I wanna cry. Am I the only one who gets so anxious just thinking about being poor Evangeline's situation? I just want Jacks to appear already 😭

Let's not forget that after she told her she wanted one week alone, to think, he ran right to Mr You-always-have-a-choice-even-regarding-the-mating-bond-because-we'll-support-you (well, maybe he only said the support part regarding Elain and Lucien's bond but never directly to Elain or Lucien in acowar)-if-you decide-not-to-accept-it-Rhysand, who promptly makes a special trip across the country so that Cassian can just show up, at her friend's house, uninvited. With the guy who hates her, endangered her life for his gain, kept secrets about her body from her, also from his own wife, and threatened to kill her no less.
Cassian: “Talk to me”
Nesta: *opens up to Cassian for once about why she’s apprehensive about the mating bond*
Cassian:
snarls at her to the point where people give them a wide berth on the bridge
rages loud enough for people to hear it across the river
can’t empathize with why the forcibly made fae is still clinging onto her humanity
tells her he didn’t have a choice in being shackled to her

Azriel is, canonically, the winner of most snow ball fights, and the most charming, with or without the use of poetry. So let's all hope that by the time the third book comes out, we won't have to sit through him trying to go three for three and outshine both Rhysand and Cassian in this category too. Though, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Cassian in ACOFAS:
“Talk to me. Nesta. Tell me—”
ACOSF:
Elain leaned forward. “You only think you know—you haven’t seen her on the dance floor. That’s when Nesta truly lets the wolf roam free. When there’s music.”
“Really?” Nesta had told him once, when he’d dragged her out of a particular seedy tavern, that she’d been there for the music. He’d ignored her, thinking it an excuse.

Okay, but who owes who, really?
The Ic love to talk about how 'ungrateful' Nesta is and how they do so much for her, and how spending 500 gold marks is so terrible. But Feyre admits herself, it isn't the money that's the issue, it's what Nesta spent it on; Booze and food.
However, the IC are buying whole estates and drinking each other under the table at Rita's almost every night. So it's safe to infer that 500 gold marks isn't that much when compared to what the rest of the IC spend. If I remember ACOFAS right, they all have a communal fun money account too, which Nesta should be given access to, if she was a member of his court since the war ended. Especially since attending those events the IC make her attend, count as court work (as I'll explain later).
For now, I've decided to list everything I can think of that Rhysand owes Nesta.
We can start with paying her rent for the use of her property to facilitate the meeting. (Not letting them die or suffer emotional/physical damages from it should be given).
Paying her for organising and supplying anything needed for the meetings to happen (so like event organisation) since the Ic pretty much just showed up.
Payment for the trips she took to mail the letters.
Paying for the servants to leave during the day Feyre arrived, and during the meetings. This includes tasks the servants would've normally done during those days but didn't because they needed to be out.
Then there's restitution for bodily harm, and emotional damages from being kidnapped (To both Nesta, and Elain)
Payment for new accommodations, including food, clothes and other necessities.
We can also add on restitution for any property damages inflicted when Hybern broke in.
Restitution for emotional damages for when she was attacked in the library.
Payment for her services in training with Amren plus trying to fix the wall.
Payment for her work at the HL meeting, plus a bonus for the emotional tole it took on her.
Payment for her scrying.
Payment for the works she did around the war camp, like fetching buckets and wrapping wounds and stuff (since I bet every other soldier, nurse, healer, or whoever, was paid in one way or another).
Payment for being willing to cross the battlefield with Amren and Feyre, and Elain, putting their lives on the line to reach the cauldron.
Payment for saving Cassian from the cauldron.
Payment for being willing to go as bait to lure out the king.
A reward for actually killing the kind.
Reparations for their fathers' death.
Payment for each scrying session in ACOSF.
Payment for going to The Middle.
Reparations for emotional damages caused by the Kelpi when she went to find the mask.
A reward for actually getting the mask.
Payment for going to the prison.
Reparations for emotional damages in the prison.
A reward for finding the mask.
Payment for taking her made swords, unless the wanna return those.
Payment for every single meeting she attends with Eris, be it in Spring, The Middle, or wherever.
Reparations for being thrown into the blood right, for all three of them, (since the ones who kidnapped them where Rhysand's own soldiers, and given that they're camp lords, we can assume they have decent ranks)
A reward for killing Bryallin (even though it was literally the IC job, since they promised to do that in exchange for her training to fix the wall and find magic items.
Payment for the dancing in Hewn city.
Payment for every dancing lesson she spends her time doing with Morrigan.
Emotional damages for the verbal abuse she gets from each member of the IC.
Payment for her work in the library
Payment for her training (since both that and the library were forced onto her).
Reparations for evicting and demolishing her apartment.
Reparations for the emotional damages inflicted by the Illyrians who stare and gawk at her the whole time, and insult her behind her back and too her face.
Her father's inheritance (If he didn't leave a will, then it's divided up by inheritance law, which Emerie mentions, includes females now, in the NC. We can also assume, based on her interactions with her cousin, that his side of the family got very little after her father's death. So, we can assume his fortune, business contracts, properties, including ships and things would go to Nesta. A majority of it would, anyway.)
Oh, and payment for every party she attends. And I mean more than just rent. Since Amren wants to use the argument that Nesta is part of the court, then every party she attends, from the bridge party, to starfall, to solstice, is considered a work trip, and she needs to be paid in full. For each one.)
Plus, emotional damages caused by the fire, the insults from their court, and the fact that she was on a boat, over water, despite her trauma.
Moreover, we learn in ACOMAF that Rhys doesn't lowball what he pays his court or those who work for him. Meaning that it's reasonable to expect the amount he pays to be from the higher end of the threshold. So, depending of if Rhysand pays from the mid to high end of the threshold, the total amount he owes Nesta would be pretty close to or even well over the millions.
The 500 gold marks that Feyre was so upset about was a first for Nesta, so even if we add that to Nesta's expenditures over the past year, and subtract that from what she's owed, she'd still have a lot of money. Maybe it would still be in the millions too.
That said, this is all just speculation, since we don't know the irl value of a gold mark, or the exact expenses Nesta incurred during that one year. We also don't know for sure exactly how much Rhysand pays his court or his soldiers.

The IC have a terrible track record...
Every notice how the NC are bad at keeping their promises, specifically to Nesta and Elain?
They promised in the human lands that if they helped facilitate a meeting with the mortal queens, no harm would come to them, yet they were stolen from their beds and hurled into the cauldron.
They promised no harm would come to them in Velaris, yet both Nesta and Feyre were attacked in the library.
They promised to protect them (again), giving them a safe place to heal during the war, yet Morrigan verbally accosted at every opportunity a traumatised Nesta, and they decided to take them to the war camps too, where Elain was abducted.
They promised the Mortal Queens' heads in exchange for Nesta's help during the war, yet, by ACOSF, they're still alive.
They promised that if Elain didn't want the mating bond with Lucien, they would protect and support her in it, but they, if anything, push Lucien on her.
Cassian promised Nesta time, and proceeded to forget about her after the war, and only spoke to her to insult her.
They promised that Nesta would always have a choice, yet ACOSF happened (need I say more?).
I get how some of these aren't really their fault, since they couldn't have known about what the mortal queens would do, that The King of Hybern would manage to infiltrate the library or that the cauldron could take Elain. However, you also can't blame anyone, much less Nesta, for not trusting or even liking them since they don't exactly have a great track record. Then they have the audacity to act as if she owes them something.

Justice for Nesta recs (Tumblr)
Most, if not all, of these recs are in the Justice for Nesta/ ACOSF rewrite/fix-it vein. It will be updates as I find more fics, but feel free to send any recs you have.
TRIGGER WARNING! Some of these fics will be very dark, with references to suicide, ptsd, misogyny, and IC BS. However, I'll be sure to add specifics where applicable.
Too by @sayosdreams A quiet conversation with Elain over dinner inspires Cassian to man up and visit Nesta with a genuine attempt to help her. Said visit leads to him making some startling discoveries about how she's been living/coping since the cauldron. Nesta x Cassian. TW for depression, suicidal thoughts, self deprecating words, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, bad parenting.
Because You're an Asshole by @vvidalinai Nesta has given up fighting, and at this point, is just silently going along with IC demands. At one such dinner, Cassian decides to ask her out publicly, only for Nesta to reject him, publicly (and quite spectacularly, might I add). Anti Nessian/Nesta rejects Cassian.
Letting things get too far by @vvidalinai Nesta puts the IC in their place, spectacularly. (No ship)
Nesta's smile is the sun by @vvidalinai Nesta has a bad mental health day so Cassian stands up for her to the IC (as he should have a whole two books ago).
House vs. Cassian by @vvidalinai A funny little fic where the HOW is sad Nesta is gone, so it decides to put Cassian, Rhysand, Amren and Mor in their place. I wish it did this in the book, honestly.
Personally, I'd recommend looking through @vvidalinai 's entire masterlist.
Standing up for her by @dreamersinthedaylightinspo Cassian, for once, does what's best or Nesta, and stands up for his mate. Plus a smidge of spoiled Feyre.

IDGAF that Elain's Feminine
"You hate on Elain because she's traditionally feminine,"
No bitch, I hate Elain because she's a self serving, ungrateful hypocrite, as I've explained in many previous posts. I hate her for how she abandoned Nesta, pushes her boundaries and never once returned the love Nesta gave her. Nesta coddling her the way she did was wrong, admittedly, but could've been solved with a basic conversation about boundaries. Many characters could benefit from one, and a lot of problems would solve themselves if they just respected boundaries.
Perhaps there are a few who don't like feminine characters, but there are just as many, if not more, who are simply indifferent since we know little about her or her opinions/thoughts. Others don't like her for the reasons I mentioned above. So saying she's hated for being feminine is a bit extreme.
Especially since my favourite characters in many forms of media are the traditionally feminine ones. Evangeline Fox is my favourite FMC, and don't really think I'll be able to move on from her when I finish A curse for true love. She's my fictional role model, from her aesthetic to her bravery to her determination.
I also adore Tohru Honda from Fruits basket, Anne Halford from Sugar Apple Fairytale, Adora, Bow, and Glimmer from She-Ra, and the Sailor Scouts (Sailor Moon).
I grew up on the muted, pastel hues of Care Bares G1, My Little pony (G1) with a hint of action from Transformers and Avengers. So as much as I love a kick ass heroine, riding off into battle or saving the world, I love the ones who want to spend all day dressing up in pretty gowns. baking and petting cute animals just as much, if not more.
So, no. I don't hate Elaine for 'being too feminine'. I would've actually loved Elain, if not for the way she treated Nesta. If nothing else, I there's a chance Elain is only doing it to avoid being nest on the IC's chopping block, in which case, I'll understand why, view her as a victim, while insisting she needs to make some serious apologies, and advocate for her to receive some serious apologies too. But until we find out what's going through her head, we can only have the version of her we see through the eyes and experiences of other characters.
(P.S if you have any recs for books/shows with feminine fmcs or that might generally fit my vibe, feel free to let me know)

This 👏 Right 👏 Here👏
I'm sure the time she spent days/weeks holed up in her apartment, hoarding enough jewels to to single handedly bring prosperity and infrastructure to Illyria, wandering the streets at night to scare kids and collect blood offerings, has kept her pretty busy. After all, it's a miracle she finds time to flirt with foreign princes, and give her two cents in random conversations as it is. So, when did this bitch get a medical degree and license to practice during all that time? Between that and having a level of audacity that should be considered a war crime (cause the NC don't already have enough of those under their belts), it's a wonder she has any time to "reevaluate" Nesta.
I know Amren is meant to be one scary mother fucker, but Lucien described her best; As a cranky aunt.
Not the ones who secretly care so much though. More like that one aunt that's been divorced several times, can't stop giving unsolicited opinions on everybody's lives, and acts personally offended when anybody has the gaul to disagree with her.
I don’t know why this isn’t the most talked about but when Amren said that if Nesta followed the plan to stay in the house of wind they’d reevaluate where and how she lived … LIKE GIRL STFU, it’s crazy how people will still say Nesta wasn’t being forced when they’re literally evaluating how she lived and where, should have stayed in that cauldron DON’T BE MAD CAUSE YOU HAVE NO POWERS.

"Nesta was cruel to them first!"
Did they seriously take one or two mean comments from a traumatised child (pretty much) so personally that they hate on her from the moment they meet, behind her back and to her face, over it?
Yet, when Feyre finds out her so called friends hid vital medical information from her, she's laughing with Cassian ten minutes later over punishing Nesta for, what I see as, a cry for help from one sister to another.
How the hell they run a court when their priorities are so damn skewed and any sense of empathy and compassion left the chat centuries prior?
