Yo what the fuck even is time anymore?
This is the first day I’ve had to catch my breath in three months, if only for a moment. It’s time to step back into those good habits for November, because if life has taught me nothing this year, I sure as hell know that holidays are theoretical and time waits for no one ✨⚡️
I’m now at 184lbs but most has been from gastritis for the past 2-3 weeks. Diet kinda falls out the window when my stomach says No to everything but animal crackers. Hopefully the acid-blocking meds I’m on will help me eat normally. Weed is the only thing that gives me an appetite; never thought I’d be one to lose weight from sheer stress!

Finally recovered from my knee and foot injury, so I’m starting back with steps and intermittent fasting. Ate dinner early and plan to fast into tomorrow afternoon, then I’ll likely eat 1-2 hearty meals a day based on protein, fat, and fiber. I’m trying to back off on drinking like a quart of cold brew coffee a day, so I’ll probably be making a lot of hot tea instead.
My overall activity level has been lower since early March when my job went WFH, so I really want to focus on getting 10-12,000 steps a day with at least 3 small workouts. That plus sticking to my meal plan and otherwise taking care of myself should put me in a good place with my health.
I’m also working on a more cohesive report of my experiences with medical cannabis. Overall I have never felt more functional or “normal” (in the best possible sense of the word) since starting this journey in May. My obstacles seem to stem largely from the inadequacies of my state’s program in meeting the needs of patients in the most accessible and beneficial ways.
June looks to be offering points of stability for me, especially if I can establish routines to take care of my mental and physical self before my work and school begin again. Unfortunately a lot of healing and recovery means allowing one’s world to kind of blast all to hell. In the past few months I’ve realized how much I’ve abused myself and been abused by others. In seeking help through the medical cannabis program I was also first told to seek support for what was apparently Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder I’d been burying in stony shame. Now I’m at a point where I can pick up the pieces and be the adult self my younger self needed and knew I’d grow up to be.

One week in and I’m getting into a groove. We still had fast food twice, but every other meal I’ve focused on fat, protein, and fiber.
Veggie scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and berries work well for fast-breaking so far.
I’ve gone from about 206 to 199 in the past seven days from intermittent fasting, drinking a lot of water, and just cutting junk. Hopefully now that I’m healed up from an injury I can start working on my walking goals.

Turmeric Honey Baked Salmon
I just tried this recipe out the other day- great to incorporate turmeric into any diet for its astonishing anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant properties. (That’s only a short list of the amazing qualities of turmeric- I will do a post later about the root soon!)
Total preparation time: 4-24 hours (as you will be marinating the salmon)
Total cook time: 12-15 minutes
Ingredients:
8oz salmon steak, skinless and deboned
Honey
Ground turmeric seasoning
Rainbow peppercorn, freshly ground
4-5 large cloves of garlic, to mince
2 large lemons
Instructions:
If salmon steak is frozen, defrost. Make sure you have a glass, sealable container to put the salmon in to marinate.
Prior to putting salmon in the container, drizzle a medium amount of honey onto the bottom of the container (this should be about 3 tsp of honey). Grind rainbow peppercorn and sprinkle ground turmeric on top of the honey.
Place salmon on top of honey, pepper, and turmeric mixture. Follow the same procedure, drizzle the same amount of honey on top of the salmon, grind peppercorn, and sprinkle turmeric on top of the piece of salmon.
After you have created a nice, honey, spicy mixture for your salmon, cut up one lemon and squeeze juice onto the salmon. Cover your container, make sure it’s sealed, and give the container a nice shake. I like to make sure my salmon is fully coated with the tasty ingredients before I put it in the fridge.
Marinate for 4-24 hours (your preference, the salmon will pick up a stronger flavor if you marinate longer).
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line baking sheet with foil. Place salmon on baking sheet, make sure to pour all of the good honey, spicy, lemon liquid onto the salmon.
Mince cloves of garlic. Coat salmon with minced garlic, ensuring an even topping over the fillet.
At 400 degrees, cook salmon for 12-15 minutes (or to your liking, some people like their salmon more cooked than others).
All done, top with slices of lemon and fresh lemon juice to taste! Pairs great with roasted Brussel sprouts and carrots.

I’ve been consistently doing 18:6 fasting. Slowed way down on walking because I was aggravating an injury.
This mush looks like total stoner food, but it was delicious. Cauliflower rice with heavy seasoning in beef au jus from a previous roast. Topped with hard boiled eggs. Sadly I missed the ripeness window for my last avocado 🥑 rest in ✌️

[ *infomercial voiceover voice* does ADHD make eating/meal-prep weirdly impossible for you?? well here are some easy-ish food ideas to (hopefully) hijack your dumb brain!! ]
banana + peanut butter + honey
deconstructed sandwich (don’t bother making a sandwich, just eat all the ingredients individually)
cheese + tortilla = quesadilla (cook in the microwave for 30 sec, on the stove, or folded in the toaster)
instant oatmeal
hummus + chips, baby carrots, bell peppers, grape tomatoes, etc.
toast + avocado + salt + cayenne pepper or paprika
my brain has trouble connecting the food in the fridge to meals i can eat, so knowing some super simple “recipes” can help cut down the steps and make eating an easier task to tackle. these should take about 5 min or less.
