all the time akira had spent being apart of date lottery’s last season, as well as two of the three babysitting service seasons had done wonders in helping him adjust to being in front of the camera in a variety setting, something he was thankful for in this moment. though mafia dance wasn’t something he was use to. sure he knew what the game was, but the only mafia game he had ever done was the regular one that didn’t involve any dancing while you played.

the rules were simple enough, though the execution would be interesting for those who weren’t listening to a type zero song. he wondered what their different song would be, but from the videos he saw online while doing some research, akira assumed that if he wasn’t the mafia, he’d find out. “yeah you’ve got it!” the older leaned slightly closer as minjun spoke up before confirming what the other was asking. “it sounds like it…it’d be fun but i don’t know if i want to try and stay on time with a random song,” he chuckled quietly.

he knows there’s a different rendition of the mafia game, with similar mechanics. nothing about dancing though, which pales in comparison to what they’re going to do. briefly, minjun wonders who managed to come up with these types of concepts, there’s a bunch of creative executives who focus on how to twist these games to be suitable for idols and their viewers—that’s pretty cool, makes him look forward to other variety shows they could take part of in the future, as a collective.

“wouldn’t wanna have to go against you, leader.” he quips with a smile. “but yeah, it sounds like fun. still super challenging, i don’t know if i can time my steps nicely if i’m not listening to the same song... guess we’ll never know if we don’t try!” although if he was part of the guessing team, he’d be okay with that. judging from previous runs of this game, it’s harder to be on the mafia team. maybe nathan would be more interested in that?

“who do you think would be up for the task of being the mafia team then?”

he’s too exhausted to think. his aching body is much too fatigued to move, let alone form coherent sentences—comeback preparations have only picked up in intensity as their showcase draws closer and closer, so much so that nathan can’t help but audibly groan in annoyance at their newest assigned task.

“why do we have to still do this stuff? i mean, aren’t our priorities a little different from the other trainees in the company now?” he asserts, mustering up enough energy to complain. a pencil twirls between the spaces of his fingers, eye glancing over the sheet of interview questions before he outwardly sighs—flopping down to stare at the ceiling for answers and the overdramatic will to live.

“besides, the company already roasted me about how shit my korean is during ‘future dreams’. i highly doubt that out of you, haneul, and akira, they’ll want me to answer any interview questions.”

he understands nathan’s concern, they’ve been grilled through hell and back with comeback preparations alone, being exhausted beyond comparison is practically a part of the job. sure, they could be prepared for it, since it’s expected of them at the end of the day—but it’s easier to think about in theory than to actually live it out.

“well, it’s a little important, i think.” he says as his eyes scan through the interview questions in hand. “if we say the wrong thing, for example, even though we meant no harm—it could still bring about consequences.” minjun can think of a few ‘scandals’ that came about because people said the wrong thing, and were caught doing so in front of a camera.

to be honest, that’s terrifying.

“maybe in their eyes, they’re giving you a chance to improve too?” he suggests with a gentle tone, hoping nathan wouldn’t take it the wrong way. “if it makes you any better, my korean used to just fly out of my head whenever there’s a camera pointed my way, or if someone professional was asking the questions.”

he was a secret member. it was a kind of cool in a way. people knew him but they didn’t know he’d be apart of type zero. and when he debuted, he wasn’t sure if the group’s fans thought that he deserved it. even then, that was the last thing on his mind. his thoughts were on debuting in general.

“sometimes, i wonder if this is correct…choice for me.” isa lifted his head to face minjun and paused the songs. they were at the company today to prepare for debut, he had to learn the songs, he had to learn the dances. “only because i’m coming from a band background, it feels a bit awkward. i’m the lead rapper and yet.” he was a vocalist, he was suppose to be a vocalist and a base player. “i wonder if i fit.”

type zero have gone through numerous changes. he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t worried about how that would look to the netizens, though minjun knows fully well that it’d be impossible to satisfy everyone. many of type zero’s original members have left—this means they’ll have to work harder this comeback, to make sure that everything that everyone has poured their blood and sweat into remains intact.

isa’s worries, especially as a new member, is only natural. minjun musters one of his best reassuring smiles, reaching out to give a comforting pat on isa’s shoulder. “that... i’m sure you’re here for a reason.” that’s the best thing he can give isa, for now. everything else, isa will have to confirm with himself. at the very least, he wants to help isa feel like he fit in, like a true member of the group. “i wasn’t part of the original line up either,” minjun says, recalling the days after future dreams, where he was appointed as a stand in. “in the end, i adjusted. it’s not easy, but it started feeling... right, to me.”

take a guess!

he’s getting better at variety shows, he thinks. legacy gave them many opportunities to work in front of a camera when they were trainees. shows like babysitting services and date lottery made him feel a little less nervous nowadays. looks like netizens really like it when you make a fool of yourself for entertainment! he supposes he doesn’t mind being laughed at, as long as he’s able to make other people laugh.

this mafia dance thing though—from its set of rules, it seems pretty complicated. then again, there’s fun in that, isn’t it? standing idly next to ( @lgcakira ), he wonders to himself whether he’ll need another rundown of the rules. “so that means whoever gets picked as mafia has to listen to a different song... while dancing to one of our songs?” now that he’s saying it out loud, that sounds super tough to accomplish.

minjun hums. “whoever gets to be the mafia must have it rough, huh?” it does sound fun, but there’s a greater chance of that side losing. minjun’s perfectionism might not take it.

「✮ HAPPY BIRTHSARY ✮」

Yoon Shinha could hardly believe it. He had spent an entire year dating perhaps the world’s most perfect boyfriend (at least in his eyes). He had been lucky enough to be with @lgcminjun for an entire year and words couldn’t describe what he was feeling right now. So many emotions flooded through his body as he wait outside at their agreed meeting spot. Shinha had so much planned for the night. After all, not only was it their anniversary, but it was also his boyfriend’s birthday.

Shinha was dressed nicely in dark jeans, a button down shirt and nice looking sneakers. His hair now blonde reflected the lamp light that stood behind him. The male’s hands quickly wrote a message to inform his boyfriend he had arrived before he placed them in his pocket along with his phone.

The blonde looked around. The crowds of people were growing. He watched all kinds of groups. Couples, families, friends, colleagues, all of them. His heartbeat began to increase in speed the more he thought about the fact he was about to meet his boyfriend. It’s been hard for him ever since Minjun had changed dorms as he had become so used to having Minjun by his side always. He waited patiently for Minjun.

it’s a little strange, celebrating two things within a single day, although one is more important to minjun than the other. he knows shinha has a lot planned for the day, his boyfriend had always been the better event planner between the two of them. even though minjun isn’t a stranger to going out on dates, he’d often feel like he has less experiences. then again, as long as he’s able to keep shinha smiling with his own little quirks, then there’s nothing else to wish for.

minjun hears a ping from his phone, he takes a quick glance to see that it’s from shinha, informing minjun that he had arrived. minjun himself is cutting close, all he feels is excitement.

soon enough, he spots the boy he had been looking for. as if on instinct, he starts walking faster, until he’s practically sprinting over to his boyfriend. he gives a short wave before he’s face-to-face with the other, a big grin on his face. “shinha! it’s always good to see you outside of legacy.” they have to keep themselves professional within the building, after all. “it feels like it has been a while since we spoke so freely like this. how are things looking for you?”

a surprise from @lgcjiho !

when the day approaches, jiho is severely underprepared. it had been easier before to give presents to his friends when they were all living in the dorms and using the same schedule but since they’ve been announced as part of different groups, it’s been kind of weird since they’re training for different concepts now.

either way, he wants to at least give minjun something for his birthday even if it’s small and he hesitates a bit on whether he should fall back on the presents he always wants to get minjun—aka plushies—or if he should get him something that’s a bit more special? he decides on a bit of both and puts an airpod case, a set of lip balms (because they were idols, almost, now, so things like this were important!), and a cute panda plush that took up most of the room in the box.

he drops the box off outside of minjun’s dorm’s door, having written a huge HWANG MINJUN written on it in black marker surrounded by cute stickers to make sure that no one would mistake it for someone else’s delivery.

there are a few friends he had missed for a while now. ever since type zero, there’s no doubt that his schedule have been fuller than he’s used to. so far it’s nothing he can’t handle, but he’s finding it even more difficult to spend time with his friends. he knew that this is simply the life of an idol, that it’d be something he needs to learn to adjust to. still, it’s easier said than done after all.

one of the friends that he had longer to talk to again was jiho, who seems to be even busier than usual these days—he hopes that’s a good thing, being busy means that he got more opportunities, right? whatever it is, he knows jiho deserves every opportunity given, he’s completely aware of how talented his dear friend is. minjun knows he’s a kind person too, but that fact still doesn’t mean he was expecting this.

come to find out, jiho left something for him today, a box with his name written in big letters, no doubt in an attempt to grab his attention, which worked. he notices the little stickers surrounding his name and can’t help but giggle—that’s very jiho, really. the presents inside even more so.

Birthday & Anniversary

Shinha had been waiting for this day for an entire year. Words could not describe how fast his heart was racing while he prepared his gifts for his boyfriend. Not only was it Minjun's birthday, it was also their 1 year anniversary and Shinha still couldn't believe he had been blessed with a boyfriend as amazing as Minjun for an entire year. Every day with his boyfriend was a gift in itself. It was hard now they lived separate, but Shinha had managed to prepare a surprise for his boyfriend with the help of Minjun's dormmates. Waiting for Minjun was a pile of boxes, one labeled 'love' the other 'celebrate', inside one were his birthday gifts. Inside the other were his anniversary gifts.

BIRTHDAY BOX:

Inside the birthday box were wireless headphones, a watch, a portable neck and back massager, a wireless charging station, a bear plushie and a necklace with 'Minjun' engraved on it. A card was on top of all the gifts which read:

Minjun,

Happy birthday handsome! I hope your day is as amazing as you are. I wish I could be with you like I was last year. I just want you to know how proud I am of you and how much I love you.

ANNIVERSARY BOX:

Upon opening the box, a small box can be seen on top. Inside were two long distance bracelets, a date night bucket list, a pile of envelopes bound together by rope, a portrait painting of a couple photo, a custom coupon book and a candle.

Inside the card was written:

My love,

Happy anniversary! It's still hard to believe that a year ago today you agreed to be my boyfriend. This year has been the best year of my life and I only hope for many more. These are only a few gifts as my love for you cannot be summed up with presents but I hope you love these almost as much as I love you. The bracelets are long distance ones so anytime you miss me, just tap it and I'll be able to see and feel your heart (they light up and vibrate). The bucket list sounds like a fun way to have a date. The envelopes are for you to open when you are feeling down, stressed or begin to doubt our relationship. I will forever love you as much as I love you today and have loved you for the longest time.

I can't wait to spend many more years together. I love you with all of my heart.

it's a little strange to have your birthday at the same day as your anniversary with your loved one. for minjun, he's not sure what to expect—although knowing shinha, he's in for another surprise. of course he doesn't mind. shinha's surprises have become an important part of his life, a trait of his boyfriend that he wouldn't trade for the world. whatever shinha has in mind always brings him excitement and joy, he could never get bored of the gifts he receives. that being said, he does feel a little bad at times. he isn't the best when it comes to the gift-giving department, his creative juices don't flow well if it's about coming up with grand presents. he's grateful that shinha appreciates him all the same, but he does want to step it up for their anniversary.

well, it'd be a surprise for when they meet. minjun isn't at all shocked to find out that shinha's already a step ahead of him though, finding a pair of boxes he knew came from none other than his beloved. there's no one else more dramatic, really. minjun smiles at the thought.

the first box he opens is the one labeled love, then he proceeded to open the one labeled celebrate. as he thought, there's an assortment of gifts he couldn't even begin to comprehend where shinha got them from, but there's beauty in not knowing, so minjun usually doesn't ask unless prompted. he tries out each one, each gift just as wonderful as the next, the appreciation he feels not dwindling in the slightest. all he feels is love, requited and secure.

minjun takes out his phone, a smile on his face as he tries to convey how grateful he is. he finds that it's difficult to do so through text, so he decides to do so when they finally meet later.

long time no post, everyone! you may ignore this

hey guys, hope everyone has been doing well. it’s been a while! i sure did drop off the face of the earth. just wanted to let everyone know that i’m super sorry for not writing with anyone or didn’t stay in contact with anyone the past how many weeks. i’m still planning on staying in lgc, although i’ve dropped both lgcyoungmin and lgchyunbin because i don’t see their paths for the future anymore. bon voyage, boys.

that being said—i’m keeping minjun! i want to see where he’ll go. he’s on a good path and i still want to see it through. however, i’ll be dropping all ongoing threads i have on him, for the sake of a true fresh start. and then, hopefully, i’ll be able to give him the time and care he deserves, as well as strengthen the connections he has and make new ones!

i might start tweaking his blog and his background in preparation for when lgc opens back up again, but the progress will be slow. i still won’t be actively writing on him until then either, i’m afraid. i’ll also be unfollowing and refollowing the masterlist (something i’ve dreaded doing) so don’t worry about your notifs.

overall, i’m sorry to everyone i haven’t responded to, whether in dms or in threads. i’m writing this mostly for my sake, so i actually lay out what i want to do next with minjun. so, if you’ve read all this, thank you for reading and thank you for caring! i hope we can continue to write again in the future. i also have ideas for new muses, but that’ll come at a later time.

baby, baby

for all intents and purposes, minjun wanted to go ahead with the second season of babysitting services. he missed that opportunity though—found himself a bit too preoccupied that he had completely forgotten about signing up. he doesn’t want to do the same this season, although he knew he’d be rather busy this trimester already he wants to experience the fun he had last time when he was paired with king and jueun. this season seems to be slightly different though. whereas they were asked to take care of children while their parents were away, this time around they were tasked within a daycare.

whether it’d be easier or not, minjun isn’t sure. but when he hears the sounds of wailing, a sign that a child is in clear distressed, muffled by the rowdy screams and shouts of the other children playing around—he feels a growing headache. he doesn’t regret this, of course he doesn’t! he’s just chastising himself for being underprepared.

as luck would have it, he isn’t alone with this. giving ( @lgchanbyul ) a sheepish smile after they took a quick scan of they’re current predicament, minjun wonders if they’ll be able to make it out of this ordeal alive. “it’s quite... lively around here, isn’t it?” he blurts out, unsure what else to comment on. with a small sigh, he tries beckoning the crying child over to the both of them. “i wonder what happened... did someone steal your toy? come here, we can play together!” it’s a little hard talking to the child when the other kids are zooming around the room, but he tries his best.

Preparations for Future Dreams had just started and so both boys were getting busier. Shinha knew that once the show began, he would be lucky to run into his boyfriend, let alone spend time with him. If they were lucky to be in the same team then Shinha would be beyond happy. Yet, it was more probable that they were to be split up yet again. These precious few holiday days were like a blessing for Shinha and he had plans. Those plans began with first surprising his boyfriend.

He had been planning this day since he had found out they shared holiday days. He and Minjun had not really had much time together since before Minjun left overseas. Now that they lived in separate dorms, it would be even harder to be with his boyfriend. That’s why today was so important to Shinha. He wanted to show Minjun that he still loved and cared about him. He had gotten a bit of help from his family to set things up and prepare which he was grateful for. Now it was just time to execute his plans. He only hoped Minjun loved it.

As soon as the door opens and he lays eyes on his boyfriend’s handsome face, Shinha grins the biggest grin. He then reached his hand from behind his back to show a small bouquet of flowers. He nodded. ❛ I have a surprise for you. Are you free to come out now? These are for you. ❜

shinha always had a knack for surprising him, no matter what was the occasion. throughout their relationship, his boyfriend had given him many small trinkets and gifts even when minjun isn’t expecting there to be one. he never knows what the other has up his sleeve, each day is never a boring day if he manages to spend it with shinha. today seems to be another special day, he’s able to be with shinha after all. he wonders what the other has in store for him today.

of course, minjun is always eager to return shinha’s kind and loving gestures. he hopes wherever they’ll be going today, he’d be granted the opportunity to do so, whether it be paying for their meal or anything of the sort. he hasn’t been able to properly think of cuter gifts with future dreams on his back. admittedly, he’s rather curious about how his boyfriend is doing too, whether preparations are going well for the other. but that could be a topic for another day. right now, he only wants to go on a little date free from work.

“yeah! and even if i wasn’t, i’d make time for you today.” with that, minjun grabs whatever he needs—his phone, wallet, he doesn’t want to bring a lot with him today—and steps out of his room. “you’re always full of surprises. it’s cute.” he smiles at the other, bright and excited. “ah, another present? you spoil me so much...”

he’s not exactly sure what he can and can’t share with the world—or maybe he’s just overthinking this, because he’s relatively certain that most people don’t need to think out whatever TMI they want to share as much as he’s doing right now. the best thing to do is to be honest, but how honest would that be? enough exaggeration that it’ll grasp the viewer’s attention within thirty seconds? maybe it’s time he stops thinking and simply do what he’s supposed to be doing.

the record button is pushed and it begins. all thoughts leave his mind as he focuses on what he should say now. it isn’t all that hard, afterwards. “hello everyone! i’m hwang minjun, twenty one and currently aiming to be a rising star!” the camera moves and a stack of plushies is revealed to the camera. “i’m an avid plushie collector, here’s just a few—i’ll show the rest when i have more time.” the camera switches back to minjun’s face, a smile placed upon his lips. “i really like dancing, i’ve been doing it since i was small. can’t say the same for cooking, not exactly the best at it even though i try.” he’s speaking faster than usual, but even then he doesn’t know whether he’ll be able to speak all that he needs to before the time runs out.

“i’m an only child, i used to work part time as a library staff. i love reading books, but i haven’t been able to recently. what else, what else... ah, please continue to support me. this has been hwang minjun!” once it ends, he tries to catch up with his breath. although he’s someone who talks a lot, he’s not exactly that fast a talker. having to cram so much information within a few seconds made it difficult, but he hopes he made a mark one way or another.

the barely noticeable smile on gitaeks face grows a little more at minjun’s response. the older male is so easy to work with, and has made gitaek feel so at ease doing this with him. it was nice–considering he had been worrying about this whole recording thing since it was announced. not so much worried he would do bad but more along the lines of ending up with someone who he doesn’t know as well and it turning into a difficult session.

he’s never been good at the whole social interaction thing and he’s also not a big talkative person. though the influence of his more extroverted boyfriend has helped gitaek to be more open–it’s a slow process.

“that sounds good to me.” he replies easily, and relaxes a little. minjun wasn’t going to be hard to work with at all, and gitaek already knows he likes to listen to the olders voice which would make this all the more fun. plus isn’t it kind of important in his line of work to well–work with a number of different people. “the back track is ready when ever you are.”

the last thing minjun wants is to put pressure on a junior producer, especially someone as well mannered like gitaek seems to be. he’ll have to work hard—not that he doesn’t most of the time, but that’s beside the point. minjun’s gentle smile remains as the two of them talk and decide on what exactly to do next. he’s sure if they’re both in a good mood and build a capable teamwork between each other, this recording session will finish within the blink of an eye.

he’s happy to get started, singing may not exactly be his thing but he does want to improve. getting help from producers would be helpful too, give him a better direction with his voice.

“thank you! listen well, i’ll need your guidance.” minjun takes in a deep breath and channels everything he has learned so far. even before the session, he obviously listened intently to the song itself and practiced on his own. he hopes he won’t mess up too bad, although he knows gitaek is capable of pointing it out if he does. so, he begins after another breath.

recording sessions have been an interesting experience for gitaek who has only really ever been on the other side of it. the producer track – which he was very glad to be on – had given him new experiences that he hadn’t thought he would ever get to do. he likes being on this end of the session. to be the one directing it and helping the person singing do their best. while gitaek likes to sing. he prefers it this way. to be able to deal with the techincal side of it all. plus its allowing him to work with people he might not have been able to.

“sunbaenim?” he calls quietly, making sure to raise his voice a little bit so he wasn’t whispering like the normally might have. the teens normal volume a low one that he knows he needs to work on. always getting called out for being too quiet. “was there something specific you wanted to focus on today or?” he questions, leaning back in his chair after having made sure the settings for the mixer were in the right places.

it’s surreal—that he’s able to stand here as a future dreams contestant, and then to have that change to an official type zero member. he’s not sure what plans there will be moving forward, there’s a mix of fear and excitement within him that he’s not sure how to sort out. he wonders whether he’ll have the time to do so, not when there’s still lots of things to do for future dreams itself, such as recording new songs. he believes it’ll be a fun time regardless, even if he won’t be participating fully in future dreams as a whole, he wants to see it to the end—maybe as an audience.

right now though, it’s time to focus on recording. when he’s called out by the young producer, minjun turns with a soft smile. he’s not very familiar with the other—gitaek, was it?—but he wants to dispel whatever awkward tension there is, if any. “well, maybe we can start with raise the roof?” he suggests, going through the lyrics and notes in hand. “since it’s the intro... not that the outro isn’t as important. i’m not used to this type of beat though.”

year end awards !

word count: 316 +4 dancing, +4 notoriety

so how was he able to get to this point again?

no matter how many times he replayed the events that lead to this very moment—that he’s standing on stage, facing an audience with a group that he knew he learned a lot from, where they’re receiving an award—he still can’t believe it. as he’s looking across from face to face, he can tell that there are others who feel the same way. the overwhelming support that they were graciously handed over throughout their time is truly inspiring, minjun can’t describe with words just how grateful he is for this experience. but he has to try, since he’s fairly certain the mic will be in his hands soon. the few seconds he does have to prepare aren’t enough.

this isn’t permanent, he knows that after this, the members of project origins will have to go through something else for a debut with a permanent group. there’s sadness in that fact, if it’s possible he’d like to continue with everyone else. he knows that legacy has bigger plans though, he just hopes that after this project that everyone will be able to walk away with something special, like he believes he’s going to. with these awards marking possibly their very last performance as legacy boys, minjun finds himself with another resolve.

he wants to be able to do this again.

“hello! it’s hwang minjun.” he’s greeting everyone with a warm smile. “there’s a lot i’d like to say, but first and foremost, thank you so much for all the overwhelming support. we wouldn’t be able to win this award without all of you—our fans. from the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing us this chance to stand on this stage.” then, he gives a short bow, happy to hear the cheers before handing the mic over to the next member.

he will be here again.
