You all really should give Terry Pratchett and his version of Death a chance. It’s pretty much everything you have described above and more.
Here are a few choice quotes:

And I literally cried buckets when I read this...

concept: a death god that is actually surprisingly supportive and on the side of the good guys, supporting actions and promoting policies that will lead to the kingdom growing and thriving instead of being destroyed, because the more the kingdom grows, the more people there are, and the more people there are the more people will eventually  die, and when you’re an immortal god of death, you know there’s no need to rush. you’ll get them all in the end

UPDATE/REVIEW/RANT: 22nd of April 2018
So... TV Tokyo recently aired one of the most emotionally painfull moments in the Naruto/Boruto Storyline, Himawari’s birthday, so I thought this would be a good time to remind everyone that this album exists. Head to the PixIV link above to read it in English directly from the artist’s site. Trust me, It’ll be good therapy for you.
What follows is a few thoughts on the recent anime episodes.
Frankly, I think the TV Series handled Himawari’s birthday much better than the manga. the movie, and even the novelization. Previously, Himawari’s birthday was shown as a single mistake, albeit a really big one, and Boruto’s anger seemed somewhat petty.
In the TV Series, this moment is shown to be a part of a pattern, as Naruto becomes more swamped with work and his work-life balance  gets even more messed up. As such, Boruto’s anger against his father is shown to be more justified. He has every right to be angry. He has been shown, in the worst way possible, that his father is taking his family for granted, and that they will never be as important to him as his professional life. For a kid, to be shown that, it’s especially painful. And Hinata really isn’t helping matters with her words which, understandably, sound hollow to his ears.
Also... Naruto broke his ninja way. His nindo.
This bears repeating...
Naruto broke his freaking NINDO!!! He gave his word to Boruto that he would be there for Himawari’s birthday, and HE WENT BACK ON IT!!
All that talk, that he never goes back on his words? That nindo that he upheld for 500 anime episodes, 700 manga chapters, and ten movies of varying quality?
Boom! Gone in an instant. It now means nothing. Especially to his son, who now knows that his father’s word and a dollar will get him three quarters.
Seriously. Is it any wonder the kid gets all resentful, and takes the wrong path?
Anyway, feel free to reply/reblog and add your own thoughts on this.

If the “Birthday cake scene” in “Boruto: The Movie” left a bitter taste in your mouth, you should really read this. It will make you feel all better.
I would like to thank my facebook friend DTNinja for proofreading the Japanese- to-English translation and making sure that I didn’t make any mistakes.
And I would REALLY like to thank @cacatuasulphureacitrinocristata for writing the permission letter for me. Though my self-taught Japanese skills are good enough for basic reading comprehension, they are not good enough to actually write a letter.

How to avoid getting "hacked"
Since I have read that a few of you have had their accounts "hacked" it seems prudent of me to take a break from the normal schedule (you know the one involving me not regularly updating my fanfics) in order to give you some advice on the matter.
First of all, what you need to realize is that your account very rarely gets "hacked". No matter what you see in movies, hackers can't just beat multi-billion dollar security systems via sheer brain brilliance. More often than not it gets "hijacked" through a "back-door" program (eg a trojan or a key-logger) , a "Phishing-site" or a scummy online site that requires registration (like a forum).  With that in mind, here's what you have to do to keep your online accounts safe:
-The first and most important thing: DON'T USE THE SAME PASSWORD FOR ALL YOUR ACCOUNTS! If you ignore all other pieces of advice in here, make sure you at least take this one to heart. It's a really big internet and more likely than not you are going to mess up at some point. You will sign up for a service that is bogus or you will get tricked into joining a forum with scummy admins or... the possibilities are endless. If you use the same password for everything, your accounts WILL get hijacked eventually.
-DON'T put your passwords in simple text, excel, or word files *especially* if you put it on a cloud. And if do, at least DON'T name them "passwords". Trust me on this.
-Relating on previous points, it's highly advisable to use a password manager like Passwordsafe (Windows/Android) or KeepPassX (MacOS/Linux/iOS) to randomly generate and store passwords to the different accounts you are using. That way, if one of your passwords *does* get highjacked it won't be such a huge deal and you won't have to go through the pain of changing passwords for every single online account that you have. And you will only need to remember ONE password, the one that unlocks all your other ones.
-When you are being prompted to log on to your Facebook/Paypal/Google/Other account ALWAYS CHECK THE URL! If the login page has an "http" instead of "https" and/or  doesn't use the ".com" ender then it's definitely a phishing attempt. Don't log in. Remember, Facebook and Google ask you for permissions, they don't ask you to put in your password again. Unless a good reason is offered (like in PayPal/eBay's case) don't do it.
-BE VERY WARY OF PIRATED SOFTWARE! A lot of the software you illegally download for free in Torrent sites contain trojans and key-loggers that send your sensitive information to third parties. So be very careful. And, yes, I am saying this as a card-carrying member of the pirate  party.
-ALWAYS READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE VERY CAREFULLY. Do this whether you bought a piece of software or downloaded it for free. Since a lot of software developers know you never read them, they use them to sneak stuff by you that you wouldn't legally agree to normally. A lot of allegedly "free" software contain adware and trojans, that send your information to others. And you can't do jack to them legally because you agreed to it by carelessly pressing the "I accept" button.
-USE OPEN-SOURCE / GPL-LICENSED SOFTWARE WHENEVER POSSIBLE. That way you won't agree to anything unsavoury when you accept the terms of service. Use sites like alternativeto.net  in order to evaluate your applications and find suitable OS alternatives for the programs you are already using. Who knows? You might even like them more than the ones you are using.
-Check your computer for viruses, backdoors and trojans regularly. If you can't afford commercial software, you might be interested to know that portableapps.com have a good selection of freely available and safe antivirus scanning and removal software like Clamwin.
-If possible, try using Linux instead of Windows. Yeah, you can't play a lot of commercial games and it does require some getting used to, but Microsoft has been getting increasingly snoopy and scummy with its Terms of Service lately (in which you essentially agree to have your documents scanned and your private/personal information violated in all sorts of ways) to the point where you really need to consider using an alternative operating system. If you are using the computer just for browsing, playing facebook games, watching videos, and doing regular office stuff, there's really no reason to not switch to Linux. It really is the safer, more private choice. Furthermore, with distributions like Lubuntu, Mint or Fedora Linux, it's never been easier to get into. Get a Live CD and test Linux out now!
Okay, that's about it! Stay safe! Feel free to reblog and add your own corrections/advice.

The Last Novelization: Chapter 4 Part 7
Ok, so, for those who have not seen it, there is now a chapter index on my tag list/index page. I decided to do that instead of a separate master post.
Please do not hate me for the big movie to novel difference in this part.
I do not know when I will have the next update done, so do NOT ask. Seriously, there are around 10 pages left. Believe me, it will get done faster if nobody pesters me about it.

I like this concept.
Rubatosis
Pairing: NaruHina Words: 3,427 Summary: Inspired by this post - Soulmate AU where your heartbeat is in sync with your soulmate. They both speed up together, and slow down together. They share every big emotion, and sense of calm. And both hearts stop together as well. Author’s Note: *appears with a new fic after months in hiding* still unsure about the ending but I think I like it :)
When they touched, it was a series of quick skips.
Almost like the feeling of your stomach dropping while going down a steep slope. His skin touched hers and she felt electricity charge her core, setting her ablaze from the inside out. It was momentary, a brush of fingers as he handed her a bouquet, but enough for her to scurry away with a flushed face and leave her short of breath. She’d sit at home thinking of him all night while staring at the flowers in the vase by her bedside, her heart still skipping happily and unaware of the identical hymn of his own.

Gloss of artist’s notes: It’s finally done. I’ve wanted to try drawing a het pairing from Naruto, so I thought up this story. I hope everyone won’t shun me, if you like it that’s even better. If you’re against the pairing, then ignore this…

I want to tackle this because it's a prime example of how not understanding (or attempting to understand) differences in cultural norms can lead to missunderstandings.
A lot of people call Naruto a bad father because he works himself to death, he hardly sees his children, and spends long hours at the hokage’s office etc.
In the west, we look down on fathers who spend a lot of time at work, and don't spend much time with their kids as a result. We call those fathers, “workaholics”, “neglectful” etc.
In Japan though this sort of behaviour is expected.
Japanese fathers are expected to work long hours at the office (frequently without compensation)
Japanese fathers are expected to sacrifice family time in order to get the work done.
Japanese father are expected to work themselves to death, often at the detriment of their own health.
Oh, what did you say? You don’t want to do that? You actually want to attend your daughter’s birthday instead of working four more hours doing that last-minute request that your boss asked of you? Expect to get demoted from management and alienated from your coworkers (who are making the sacrifices you refuse to make without question), if not outright fired.
And good luck finding another job in this economy.
@thean1meman has a great video on the subject.
So Naruto doesn’t work himself to the point of exhaustion because he is a bad father. He works himself to exhaustion because this is what is expected of him. Because this is how Japanese fathers normally work.
Kishimoto, Naruto’s creator, has certainly had a lot of experience on the subject. As the creator and artist of one of the biggest manga franchises in the world he had to spend long hours working himself to exhaustion trying to get the next Naruto chapter done in time. He didn’t even get to spend a honeymoon with his wife (and mother of his children), until the series ended. He knows what it’s like to work to death and neglect your family because you have to get your job done.
And Kishimoto shows in his work, that he vehemently disagrees with this cultural norm. Naruto’s tendency to overwork is NOT shown in a positive light, and in both the Boruto Movie, and the ongoing manga series we see that it has terrible consequences. His family gets hurt, his son starts resenting him. Boruto ends up making some terrible choices because he is trying to get his father’s praise and attention.
To Naruto’s credit, in the end he eventually realizes that this is wrong and that he needs to eventually oppose that cultural norm...
...and that shows that he is the exact opposite of a bad father.
