YESYESYESYES I HAD THIS HC FOR YEARS
If we look at how almost every character in Undertale treats Papyrus, everyone talks about him as though he’s a young child despite him being either a late teen or young adult, and they all think of him as naive and innocent. However, the one person who explicitly states confidence in Papyrus (while also admitting he can be tricked easily by those who aren’t honest about their intentions) is Sans, Papyrus’s brother and therefore the one who knows him best. Additionally, in the neutral ending in which Papyrus becomes ruler of the Underground, we see him showing much more maturity than most characters give him credit for, even insuring a policy that humans can’t be judged all good or all bad–something we don’t see other rulers do.
Papyrus’s experience of being treated as childish and naive by everyone except his relatives despite showing a great deal of maturity is highly reminiscent of autistic teens/adults’ treatment in mainstream society and media. In this essay, I w

This entire post just gives me heartache
I know I said I wouldn't write meta and I will go back to my hermitage after this post, but this is too important for me not to note.
This is Dabi making yet another meta-narrative comment directly in-story. This is Dabi directly telling Deku how empty his words are. How his butchered attempt at sympathizing falls short of real life, because it's based on the wrong prerequisites.
"You're not Endeavor" "haha, anybody could figure that out" ——> it's a direct callback to the "it's your power" scene. And yet. It falls on deaf ears. Because Deku's sympathy is conditional, and it requires the object of it to br emotionally well-adjusted to an extent. It requires the victim to be a "good" victim. Someone who still has something "worth saving" in them.
With Shouto, the words "it's your power" triggered the memory of a loving mother telling Shouto that he wasn't bound by his blood. Shouto went through hell, but for some time he had the unconditional affection of at least one parent to give him some emotional stability. He had a good idol to admire in All Might, someone who was a pro but wasn't as corrupted and cruel as his father. Deku's he said words had an impact on him because they awakened something that was already inside Shouto.
But Dabi is different. Touya didn't have any of that. We never saw Rei comforting him. He had to crawl in tears to Natsuo. The implication is there. There was no adult role model for him who showed him a healthier path. There was no one guiding him. No one to save him in time, and he lost his mind as a result of losing all his certainties.
Saying "it's your power" to Dabi can't have the same effect it had on Shouto, and expecting as much is incredibly naive of Deku. "You're not Endeavor". Well, duh. Of course Dabi is not. Dabi's the victim here, and yet he's not the one Deku is choosing to empathize with. Deku's giving a second chance to an abuser, but he had to know Dabi was his son before realizing he owed some human decency to Dabi as well.
"Everyone can see that." ——> it takes more than stating the obvious to break through the walls of a victim turned perpetrator. This is Dabi's narrative challenge to Deku and to hero society as a whole. Dabi knows he's not Endeavor, but he deliberately adopted his father's methods to show hero society that those methods are inherently villainous.
What can heroes do with their actions, and not their empty words?
Dabi wants hero society to see how he's having so little concern over his family, how he's throwing them under the bus for the sake of getting what he wants, and see that Endeavor. Did. The. Same. Exact. Thing.
"You're not Endeavor."
That's right. Cause every hero so far has been shown to be more willing to give Endeavor a second chance, but not Dabi
And that's the challenge. How is hero society going to fix this when reasoning calmly about it won't cut it? When Endeavor damaged his son's psyche so much that he lost his mind? When Dabi is not a convenient victim who will let himself be saved?
"Don't you pity me at least a little?" will you let me fall through the cracks again, or will you actually do something this time and stop the person who made me like this?

he’d try touching your face too, albeit being shaky and struggling to even try
if he was talking before you touched his face, poor boy would stammer a lot finishing his sentence

“yeah”
after that, he’d try to do it to you too at any idle moment.
Once you both get comfortable he’d just take your hand and put it on his face.

Todoroki Shoto
○ Todoroki gets turned into a plush doll and just so happened to be in Uraraka’s room
○ and since she wasn’t aware that the plush was the actual boy himself, her first instinct was to take it to you
○ “Look Y/N, someone dropped this cute plush Todoroki by my room! I’ll give him to you so you can have your own Todoroki,” she says, sending you a wink before leaving you alone with it
○ at first you don’t really know what to do with it, wondering if you should hide it in case one of the boys comes in and accidentally discovers your crush
○ but upon closer inspection of the doll you realize that he’s way too cute to just stuff aside in a drawer
○ so you resort to hiding him under your covers whenever someone comes into your room so they don’t suspect anything
○ there’s pros and cons to his new home under your covers. it almost makes him light-headed to be surrounded by your scent, but he’s not exactly sure whether it’s that or the lack of oxygen from being trapped under heavy blankets
○ the fact that he’s literally buried in your chest when you sleep since you hold him so close doesn’t help calm his racing heart at all, and it’s a fact that Todoroki the plushie does not get enough sleep at all
○ but he’ll definitely cherish the experience while he still can
○ and you would have a lot to discuss when the quirk finally wears off and you wake up to the real Todoroki in your arms fast asleep
Bakugo Katsuki
○ Kaminari and Kirishima were there when Bakugo got turned into a plushie, so they obviously knew that the plush Bakugo sitting in their common room was in fact, the actual Bakugo himself
○ what he was not expecting was for his friends to take advantage of his current state. Kaminari maybe, but Kirishima? Bakugo’s very very disappointed
○ the two of them practically shove the doll onto you when you come back to the dorms, telling you to take good care of doll as if he were the real Bakugo ( “unleash all your wildest fantasies onto that thing, Y/N!”)
○ but he’s way too surprised by the fact that you didn’t deny having romantic fantasies about him to start plotting his friends’ murders
○ at first he does try to still give you privacy even though he practically lived on your bed now, looking away when you’re changing and trying not to ogle at how cute you looked in that oversized sweater
○ it’s not easy though, when you keep on kissing him. He’s glad that you can’t see the burning of his cheeks or the way his eyes follow your form around shamelessly after a few days of trying not to, ogling your exposed skin when you’re clad in nothing but oversized clothing in the privacy of your room (or so you thought)
○ at first he feels a little bad about peeping on you like this, but eventually he figures he’ll either pretend it never happened if you don’t find out or blame it on Kaminari
○ but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t enjoying all the love and attention you were giving him. It’s like a fever dream for him, and he would’ve never thought in a million years that you possibly liked him back
○ with all the sappy things you keep on telling him while you cuddle him close, he’s come to the conclusion that he probably wouldn’t get rejected if he actually did ask you out, so he sets his mind on asking you out when he’s turned back and can actually talk again
○ and you don’t know what surprises you more when you wake up one morning to a full sized Bakugo in your arms, the fact that he was awake and looked calmer than you’d ever seen him before or the way he also had his arms wrapped tightly around your waist
○ “Why do you look like that, idiot? Don’t act like you haven’t been telling me you wanted this every day for the past week.”

this is another tiktok trend and since i’m feeling lonely, i decided to pretend that these bnha boys are giving me the cuddles i desire LMAO
BAKUGOU KATSUKI
Bakugou is doing homework that’s due next week because he’s lowkey a nerd
he’s been busy with hero training lately, so he hasn’t given you much attention
and now you’re touched starved
so you go over his study table and duck under his arm that he’s using to write notes to climb over his lap
“OI, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I’M TRYING TO STUDY HERE.”
you ignore him, making yourself comfortable on his lap. you wrap your arms around him and lean on his sturdy chest, inhaling his caramel scent
he softens at your body engulfing him, his initial annoyance gone immediately
“stupid girl, distracting me from my homework,” he grunts but rests his chin on your shoulder. he’s tired too, and this is exactly what he needed.
“you can still do it,” you murmur against his chest. “i’ll just stay here and be quiet.”
he drops his pen and wraps his arms around you, squeezing you tight.
“well, if i’m gonna hug you, i’m not gonna do it half-assed,” he says, clicking his tongue as if he’s annoyed, but he rubs your back the way you like it
when you’re content, you pull away from him to let him go back to studying
but he pulls you back on his lap and traps you in his arms, placing his chin on your head
“stay,” he grunts, using his hands to wrap your arms around him like earlier
your chuckles tickle his chest. “i thought i was a distraction.”
“shut up and let me hold you.”
you laugh again, but you stay silent after. you close your eyes and enjoy his warmth
he looks down at you and sighs before placing a gentle kiss on your head. he’s happy that you’re in his arms, that he can hold you with such love and comfort.

and sometimes, when you remember that, you have the sudden urge to make him feel all your love
so when he was reading a book on the couch, you sneak under his arms, leveling your face with his
“y/n?” he blinks, his face getting as red as his hair on the left side. “what are you doing?”
you grin up at him and pepper his face with kisses before settling on the crook of his neck, smiling against his skin. after wrapping your arms around his body, you squeeze him tight, wanting him to feel your overwhelming love
“hug me back, Shouto,” you whine when he just sat still
the poor boy’s just surprised that you’re showering him with affection, but he snaps out of it to embrace you
he melts under your hold and runs his hand through your hair. it’s supposed to calm you down, but instead, it calms him
you always do
“are you upset?” he asks because he really doesn’t get why you’re being like this
not that he’s complaining
“no,” you look up at him again to kiss his lips. “i just love you.”
he blushes again, so he gently pushes your head back to his chest. “i love you, too, y/n.”
you guys stay like that for a while, just holding each other as if it’s only the two of you in the world, and you guys don’t need anyone else but each other’s touch.
KIRISHIMA EIJIROU
you already know that this guy is busy playing his PS4
you’ve been at his room for hours, but he only keeps playing games with Kaminari and Sero
he keeps saying “one more game,” and yet he never comes to you
tired of waiting, you stand up from his bed and walk over to you. he barely even glances at you and you huff at him
he still doesn’t look at you
finally, you go under his control and settle yourself on his lap. his computer chair rattles at the added weight, but he sturdies it easily by shifting you on him properly
you smile at how unfazed he is as he continued to play his game with you hugging him. he rests his head on your shoulder and whispers, “i’m sorry babe, let me just finish this game quickly.”
but you just look so damn irresistible nuzzling against his neck, so he makes himself loose, causing Kaminari and Sero to yell at him through his headphones
he throws them off and grabs your face, showering your face with light kisses. “damn it, y/n, why are you so adorable?”
you hide your blush by finding the comfortable spot at the crook of his neck again, breathing in his scent.
“sorry for not giving you attention, y/n,” Kirishima says, rubbing your back soothingly. “i’m all yours now.”
“really?” you peer up at him.
he chuckles at you, kissing your lips. “yes, gorgeous. you have all my attention.”
from then on, Kirishima makes you sit in his lap whenever he plays games.

Todoroki Shouto
Todoroki likes to interlock his fingers with yours when you both hold hands.
So the fact that you manage to successfully slither yourself out from his loving python-like grip is talent in itself.
Occasionally, you like to switch sides when holding hands with Todoroki due to the temperature of his quirk. Which made him think that you were doing the same for this situation as well.
So, he tugs you over from his left side to his right and in a casual manner his knuckles would brush up against yours as he moves in to intertwine your fingers once again.
But when you slip out from his hold on that one too? Well, fuck.
That has never happened to him before, so why now?
Todoroki would give you a look that gives off vibes of “What are you doing…?”
You’d even take it a step further to cross your arms across your torso, putting your hands out of sight to show that you weren’t going to hold his hand.
But if you think that’s enough to stop him? You’re sadly mistaken.
Todoroki is not ashamed to stop you both in the middle of a bustling crowd, to pry your arms away from your chest just so he can hold your hand again.
Todoroki would keep his gaze levelled with yours while he grasps your hand.
“Stop that,” he’d say, if he feels you trying to let go once more. His tone of voice was soft, yet the command was stern. Almost as if he were scolding you.
And what do you do? Exactly that because, wow. Yeah ♡ .
Bakugou Katsuki
Bakugou at first would be confused as to why you slipped your hand out from his hold.
Was it because of his palms? How they had the tendency to slightly attract sweat due to his quirk?
That couldn’t have been the case though, because you’ve held his hand on numerous occasions before this so those were out of the question.
Which makes him come to the conclusion that you were poking fun at him. Teasing him, if you will.
So he’ll try again, just to see if he’s right. And if you reject Bakugou’s efforts at holding your hand the second time, he’s peeved and won’t try again.
He’s not one for heavy acts of PDA, so the fact that he’s going out of his way to at least hold your hand speaks volume in itself. Be grateful
Your actions have dampened his moods and have definitely stomped on his ego.
Bakugou would ball his hand into a tight fist and exaggerate his movements of shoving it away into his pocket to show you that his physical affection was now being shut off completely.
You can’t help but laugh at this. However, the tables have turned and now it’s you who’s trying to hold his hand.
“C’mon Bakugou, I was kidding!” You’d say as you try to pull his hands out from his pockets, but he’s too stubborn to give in. “Let’s hold hands now, yeah?”
“No, let go of me.”
It’s okay, you can always get him to try again next time ~
Midoriya Izuku
Midoriya wouldn’t understand why you’re rejecting him so much?? (He does not and would not stop trying to hold your hand, he won’t give up)
He keeps going at it, you’re surprised that he’s managed to go on for so long to not pick up on your playful retort.
It’s on the sixth try when Midoriya’s pride gets wounded once he makes a sly attempt to hold your hand, only for him to miss it completely.
The times before that though, he conditioned himself into believing that you simply didn’t know that he was making a steady effort to reach out to you nor did you feel the light brush of his palm against yours.
Are you disgusted to hold hands with him? Were you embarrassed by the thought?
Of course, Midoriya already knows the answers to these questions and deemed them to be false. He was your boyfriend after all, so of course you wouldn’t be embarrassed by him.
He just has the tendency to overthink is all.
“Uhm, (L/N)?” He’d say after he has built up the courage to politely ask for your hand.All he has to do is be verbal with what he wants, and it should be bound to work out. “If possible, can- may we please hold hands, please?”
Poor baby is so nervous that he doesn’t even realize that he’s used the word ‘please’ twice. In the same sentence.
Spare him and just hold his hand, he’s begging you. That’s all he wants
