Standing Still

She had been running since the time she could remember.Half of her life she ran away from it. And this half she was running towards it. Always careening. Always bumping. Always bruising. Then one day, she decided. She was going to stop. You might ask, what next? She now stands still in a world of hurtling cannon balls. How does she save herself from catastrophically turning into ash? Ashes of her heart. Mind. Bygones. And beholds? She knows she cannot return to running. She spent that year consumed in trying to protect herself. And then, one summer evening, out of the bluest blue, she knew what she had to do. She is now learning to embrace. But do you know of anyone whom nature has forgiven?
