so ermmmm does anyone have any cool ideas for alternate genshin regions they want to share? I'll start
Lehtmets - The region of dendro. An area made entirely of forests and some lone swamps adorning the northwest side of the region. The eastern side is more adorned by pine and spruce trees whereas the west is a natural leafy forest. There is a coast connecting Lehtmets to the region of Hydro at the northern border. The region boasts 4 seasons of summer, autumn, winter and spring, each having a festival to go along with it.
The people of Lehtmets live in villages, mostly small and seperated communities connected to each other by forest paths and carriages. Local catlike creatures known as Jumpers are often used as communication and also kept as pets. These lynxlike animals reach up to a humans knee in height and like climbing trees. The houses in the villages are also made of wood, other local materials such as pine needles can also be used in construction. People mostly live off of hunting and gathering, river- and coastside villages also indulge in fishing. There is little space for agriculture.
The technology of Lehtmets is slightly behind compared to other regions, however the forest is all connected by the roots, forming an effective network of life. The archon of dendro, Kimaris, is the only one with full access to this network and is often seen materialising to and from the trees and ground, using said network to travel. The dendro archon prefers to work solitarily, seldom seen by the people. Seeing the archon with your own eyes is said to be an omen of good luck to come.
One thing that stuck with me since Star Rail launched was the fact that, in Japanese, Stelle's go-to second person pronoun is "anta" (あんた in written form).
Like, it's a very laid-back way of addressing someone and it kinda cracks me up every time I hear it from her. Especially since her first person pronoun is the polite standard "watashi".
To use an example from Genshin, Navia and Beidou are two characters who use "anta" as their second person pronouns in JP, but they use "atashi" to refer to themselves (laid-back and feminine).
Where I want to go with this, you ask? Simple: Himeko uses "watashi" as first person pronoun and "anta" as second person too.
Fiction-wise, these differences between pronouns are poignant in differentiating characters and their personalities, so I just imagine fresh-outta-amnesia (? Memory wipe? The hell was that) Stelle wondering how she should address herself and others and then following Himeko's speech patterns. It's a cute thought to have.
i love pearls obsession with being a civil servant. she WILL be a cleaning lady. she WILL have a postal service. shes so determined to put public infrastructure on this server and shes so right
