OKAY OKAY OKAY BUT I need everyone to know that it's not done yet (it's almost ready), but for the past few weeks I've been writing a fanfic in which Aventurine adopts a cake cat.

I PREDICTED THIS.

Oh my GOD, I got her at only 50 pity, and won a 50/50 for her, too!! I've never gotten so lucky in Genshin before!! I used Freminet to summon her, lol.

Now to go grind for her stuff because I didn't plan for this at all.

I want this so, so badly, though I don't think it'll actually happen, for various reasons. But God, bias aside that I love him and want him as a main character, this boy needs a found family. He needs to get adopted by people who don't have the intention of using him for profit.

Once the Penacony arc is over, I might just have to write this as an AU.

Some people have theorized that Aventurine might join the Astral Express by the end of the penacony story, and honestly I don't personally think its going to happen because I doubt the main crew will be added to as the game goes on, but Oh My God do I wish it was true lol. Like 1) im honestly just biased because of how much i love aventurine, but also 2) I really think joining the Astral Express and getting away from the IPC would be really good for him. He wants freedom and I think the freedom the express would give him would be perfect, along with the much needed found family he would get out of it. Like? The image of him hanging out with the crew and genuinely getting closer to them is? So good?? Also he and Ratio would probably still run into each other a lot which I think they both do secretly want (this got away from me, I just want him on our team so much and to see him get treated like a person and not an asset for once lmao) And its not like theres no basis at all, since he expressed his desire to leave the ipc as well as the fact that his cornerstone is smashed now

I don't have much hope either, but I would love that! I mean, Aventurine is my absolute hsr fave, so to have him become part of the main crew would be beyond amazing! And as you said, I think it would be good for him too, and I would love to see him interact with the rest of the express. Aventurine definitely deserves to be part of a family again. And the fact that he would often run into Ratio sure is an extra nice added bonus (Perhaps Ratio would also plan his travels depending on where is he most likely to cross paths with Aventurine, although he wouldn't admit it out loud)

Okay, but I love a silly, silly Ratio who just can't understand why he can't stop thinking about Aventurine.

He'll keep popping into his mind while he's trying to have a deep thought, and it frustrates him to no end. Why?! There's no reason for this, it's ridiculous! This has never happened before!

And a lot of his tsundere behavior is because of this "get out of my head!!" mentality.

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

this is a very abbreviated version bc i wanna get this out before going to sleep, but still minor spoilers for aventurine’s story in the 2.1 penacony story

basically, it’s revealed that, while gambling, aventurine holds his cards confidently with his right hand while his left one is clenched and shaking under the table where people can’t see (boiling down to the point that his showy facade is just that… sth that’s not real and that he’s actually terrified)

so after that has been revealed, we ofc reevaluated some of the things we know and saw of aventurine; like him only wearing rings on his “showy” right hand or his hand position in the light cone “final victor” and in his new trailer (notice how in both scenes it’s hidden behind his back?)

so i just couldn’t help but notice that in the idle where he tosses the coin around, he does that exact pose (i don’t have a reference atm); hiding his hand behind his back in a manner that looks very polite, gentlemanly and confident

it doesn’t have to mean anything since some things just become habit if you do them often enough and i don’t think he’s as scared of tossing a coin as he is in those life or death situations mentioned above, that piece of his story is just burnt into my brain and i watch his hands like a hawk

in the animated short he tosses a coin with his left, so it’s probably more habit than his hand actually shaking in his idle; but then again, thinking about the fact that he hides his hand (i.e. trembles in fear) so often that it has become an unconscious action… that would open a whole new world of angsty thoughts (let me swaddle you up and protect you ㅠㅠ)

now on the other hand (literally) in the art where he is just waking up and is relaxed he holds his phone with his left; again probably doesn’t mean anything, and i’m interpreting way too much into that one for sure, but i still think it’s a tiny piece of symbolism that he is actually at peace and with his guard down in that situation

Some Aventurine Pulling Rituals!

For the record, I don't "believe" in pulling rituals, but they're very fun and make the pulling experience more interactive and interesting. So, with my best boy coming soon, I've been thinking of all kinds of little things to do for him! These range from very simple to a bit complex. Feel free to maybe add some of your own, and I'd be really interested to see which was "the one" for you when the time comes!

1.) Take the Trailblazer to the reception desk in the Reverie (reality) where we first met him, and pull

2.) Take the Trailblazer to their room in the Reverie (reality), and pull

3.) Take Dr. Ratio into the model Golden Hour and pull

4.) Take Dr. Ratio to the balcony where we got close to his giant self, and pull

5.) Walk through the curtain at the theme park and then pull

6.) Take a picture at the Hanu standee in the theme park, then pull

7.) Play the capsule machine one time, then pull

8.) Take Dr. Ratio to Aideen Park and keep using his technique until you get the heart-hands statue, then pull

9.) If you have Acheron (I don't), take her to the stage and use her slash technique, then pull

10.) If you have Topaz (I don't), take her to the Jarilo-VI snow plains near the bear cub where we heard his voice for the first time, and pull

11.) Take a deck of standard playing cards, shuffle them, then keep flipping them until you find the ace of spades, then pull

12.) If you just so happen to have a real aventurine stone (I don't think I do? But I should look through that box of crystals a friend gave me once, lol), hold it in one hand while you pull

13.) On the warp screen, hold your left hand to the screen (probably not possible on a phone or a touch-screen monitor), recite the blessing of Gaiathra Triclops, and then pull (this is going to be my last resort, because I might start crying, lol)

And they were "good friends" with "mutual respect"

Reunion

I really enjoy Ratio teaching Aventurine advanced mathematics and science and such, but also:

Aventurine teaching Ratio things about life on Sigonia-IV, and about his culture and religion. Things that have been lost or that the IPC deemed "not important enough" to be documented into history/anthropology. Ratio would actually be fascinated to encounter new knowledge about the Avgins and make sure to write everything down in the hopes of making it well-known and accessible someday.
