00. an ephemeral encounter lingers
like the glistening stars that adorn the twilight sky, in the cover of the darkness of the venue, a rowdy crowd stand awaiting for the signalling sound of the beginning of the spring. the performers remain hidden behind draped crimson curtains as if hiding a highly confidential secret.
suddenly, a harmony of instruments ranging from the electric guitar to the drums sound from the concealed space. with thousands of curious gazes gawking at the platform, the curtains open. applause, accompanied by numerous screams, welcome the four members of the band onstage. “hello, everyone. thank you very much for attending our concert this evening! this will be the heavenly principles,” greeted the guitarist in front with the delicate wave of his hand. as you look up with eyes that are dappled with the flickering stage lights, his own meet yours. under your scrutinizing watch, he gives you a fleeting smile that shines brightly amidst the dimly lit environment before looking away to absorb the sight of the crowd in front of him. if that brief smile was so short-lived, why did it have such a lingering effect on you? as you gaze up once again at the stage covered by a beautiful lavender, you come to the realization that the guitarist looks way more than what can be described as “angelic.”
with the absence of light at the concert as your disguise, your heart begins to pick up its pace and a flush of pink embellishes your face as you replay the memory in your head, drowning out the voice of your friend, ajax, beside you.

kazuha
third year honors psychology and literature major at the university of celestia. specializes in poetry. main vocalist and rhythm guitarist for heavenly principles. likes to say he’s the guitarist leaving out the rhythm so people think he’s the lead guitarist. note: for image reference purposes he’s gaon from xdinary heroes LMAO.

third year business major at the university of celestia. leader of heavenly principles but wishes he wasn’t because of how chaotic his bandmates are. bass guitarist. everyone (in the band) except heizou left out their schools from their profile for their privacy. has been friends with kazuha since high school.
kunikuzushi
third year literature major at the university of celestia. shares most of his lit classes with kazuha but writes god awful poems. lead guitarist for heavenly principles. has a lot of fans. rolls his eyes whenever someone mistakes kazuha as his role but doesn't say anything about it.
heizou
third year criminology major at the university of celestia. drummer for heavenly principles. roommates with kazuha. guilty of making heavenly principles’ lyrics not so heavenly, your honor. very serious about his studies since he wants to become an acclaimed attorney. his personality doesn't reflect it though.

third year literature major at the university of celestia. up-and-coming author. does not gaf about anything that’s not literature. secretly cares a lot about yn and his friends. the only sane one in the friend group (as opposed to the 2 intense academic weapons and the party animals).
yoimiya
third year chemistry major at the university of celestia which sparked from her fireworks obsession as a child. has decent grades but likes to party more. “queen of the summer festival” at home but “queen of the party” at uni. accompanies childe to most of his parties. friends with like everyone on earth.
ayaka
third year honors business major at the university of celestia. very close friends with yoimiya. dedicated study partners with yn. extremely studious to the point where it’s scary. senior director of academic affairs for the student council and is a part of the disciplinary committee.
ajax
third year international relations major in the university of celestia. this is because he wants to travel (conquer) the world. the mutual friend between kazuha and yn. helps out with kazuha’s band sometimes. has a reputation for intense partying and flirting. does not enjoy studying but does well in his classes anyways.

synopsis if that brief smile was so short-lived, why did it have such a lingering effect on you? after meeting kaedehara kazuha at his band's concert, you feel like you heard the sound the arrival of spring for the first time. then, when your beloved cat goes missing, kazuha coincidentally finds him and you reunite. with two meet-cutes in a row, it was inevitable that you two would become friends. the thing is... whenever you see kazuha, an inexplicable warmth settles within your heart. if you want to capture a heart hanging high in the sky, you must have the ability to climb up the clouds, right? now, you just have to try and win this vocalist’s heart! what you are unaware of, is that he's trying to do the exact same. will you and kazuha continue to rendezvous as "just friends", or will other feelings bloom in the spring?
