Week 14: Presentation of Updates
Hello! This blog post is about our week 14 of Entreprenuership subject. During our Monday class, we presented the information we had gathered over the past two weeks. After the presentation, our instructor approved our idea, which revolves around improving the payment and monitoring system of bus terminals. Instead of implementing a bus recognition system, our instructor suggested using RF technology or incorporating QR codes for payment. We are thrilled about the progress and eagerly look forward to the next step in our journey: conducting surveys and determining the best solution for the bus terminal problems we have discussed in previous blog posts. Feel free to visit my timeline to review my past blogs.
Moving forward, we are filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for what lies ahead. The combination of RF technology and QR codes shows immense potential in optimizing bus terminal operations, reducing wait times, and enhancing the overall employees experience. Our ultimate goal is to develop a system that not only addresses the current challenges but also paves the way for future advancements in the transportation industry.

Week 13: Task Continuation
Welcome back to our weekly blog series where we explore the exciting world of transportation technology and innovation. In this Week 13 update, we will summarize our progress as we interviewed bus operators and researched Radio Frequency (RF) technology and its use in tollgates. Following our instructor's guidance, we interviewed a total of ten bus operators from different companies and roles within the transportation industry. We interviewed with three bus operators from Lipunan Bus, three from Rural Transit, and three from Bachelor Tours. Additionally, we had the opportunity to interview a Head Controller, who provided valuable insights into the operational aspects of the bus industry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alongside conducting interviews, we dedicated a significant amount of time to studying RF technology and its importance in tollgate systems. RF technology is crucial in various industries as it enables wireless communication and data transmission. We examined how this technology enhances efficiency, accuracy, and convenience for both commuters and toll operators in toll systems.
Our research provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the advantages of RF technology in tollgate operations. These include seamless vehicle identification, streamlined toll payment processing, and real-time data collection and analysis. By incorporating RF technology, we can reduce congestion and improve the overall user experience. Week 13 was a productive and enlightening phase of our project. Through in-depth interviews with bus operators and thorough research on RF technology, we gained valuable insights that helped us refine our project ideas. The collective expertise and feedback from industry professionals have strengthened our proposal, making it more effective and increasing its likelihood of approval.

WEEK 12: MEEDO Office Head Interview
Hello! It has been a while since I last posted my Week 11 blog due to a busy week. I would like to share with you what we accomplished during Week 12 of our technopreneurship subject. In our last class meeting, which served as our midterm exam, our instructor assigned us the task of interviewing the office head of the Balingasag bus terminal. We needed to inquire about the agreement and budget. Additionally, we were required to interview at least 10 bus operators to gather more information and study the use of Radio Frequency Technology in tollgates.
During the interview with the office head, we presented our bus recognition system idea. The office head shared his thoughts and agreed on the budget. He can provide the necessary funds if the system's price is below 5,000 pesos. However, if it exceeds that amount, he will collaborate with the Local Government Unit (LGU) for support. Overall, he expressed a strong desire for us to implement the system and hoped that we would decide to proceed with creating it for the terminal.
Tumblr media
After the interview, I was delighted that he agreed to the idea we presented. The journey of technopreneurship offers captivating experiences and opportunities for innovation. The interaction with the office head of the Balingasag bus terminal demonstrated the potential of implementing a bus recognition system that could revolutionize operations within the terminal. With the office head's agreement and support, we, as students, are determined to turn our vision into reality. This story serves as an inspiring example of how the fusion of technology and entrepreneurship can bring about transformative change.

WEEK 11: Midterm Exam PITCH DECK
Tumblr media
This is my week 11 in Technopreneurship subject. This week is our exam week in this subject.
Tumblr media
Our group presented to the class an AI-based recognition system for buses, which detects the bus body number and is compatible with existing CCTV systems. The system automatically records the bus body number in the cash ticket daily collection, along with its bus type and arrival time at the terminal.
Tumblr media
However, our instructor provided feedback and expressed his concerns regarding the implementation of the system. He emphasized the challenges of creating a computer vision system, especially when considering that the location of the bus body number can vary greatly. He recommended that we study radio frequency (RF) devices, which are used in tollgates, as an alternative to the AI system we proposed. To further develop our idea, our instructor assigned us a task to interview the head of the office to determine if the office is willing to provide a budget for the proposed system. We were also asked to interview at least ten bus controllers and study the RF systems used in tollgates and how they operated.
Throughout the week, we learned valuable lessons from our instructor that will help us refine and improve our ideas. We discovered that while our initial proposal was innovative and had potential, it is crucial to consider the practicality and feasibility of our ideas. We realized that the success of a business idea not only lies in its creativity but also in its ability to address real-world problems and provide practical solutions.

WEEK 10: Preparing for Midterm Exam
Good day, Everyone! I'm excited to share with you my journey in my technopreneurship subject for week 10. After conducting interviews in the previous week, my groupmates and I created an idea which is the Balingasag bus tracker app base on the data gathered last week. This app would help bus terminal clerks in Balingasag to keep track of essential information, such as bus arrival times, bus types, payments from buses, plate numbers, and driver names. We need to present our idea on the first day of the week, which was on Monday, April 18, 2023. However, due to an unforeseen electrical problem at school, we were unable to present our idea as planned. Instead, we were asked to submit our presentation on Slack. Throughout the week, our instructor provided guidelines for our midterm exam, which would take place on April 24, the following week. We held a quick meeting on Google Meet to discuss which idea we would choose to present on the pitch deck next week. We decided to go back to the bus terminal office in Balingasag to gather more data. Unfortunately, the office head was unavailable, and we only had the chance to speak with Ma'am Lovely, the terminal clerk, and her two collector personnel.
We were still determined to develop an innovative idea. Instead of the Balingasag bus tracker, we shifted to create an AI-based recognition system for buses. This system would be more advanced and would use artificial intelligence. In our week 10 journey in technopreneurship, we learned that innovation and flexibility are essential in the field of entrepreneurship. We're excited to present our new idea on the pitch deck next week and showcase our group's creativity and adaptability.

WEEK 9: More Interviews
Good morning, everyone! This is my week 9 in my Technopreneurship journey, and I want to share with you our latest interview with a customer. This is a continuation of Blog 7, in which our instructor advised us that it is not recommended to implement systems in public schools due to the long process, but rather to conduct interviews with private schools. We visited Holy Child Montessori, one of the private elementary schools in Balingasag, but unfortunately, the principal was absent, and we only got to speak with the secretary. During our interview, the secretary assured us that the safety of the children is of utmost importance to the school. The school has a process in place to verify the identity of the person picking up the child, and parents are not allowed to enter the school premises. The school is already aware of who will be picking up the child, but if there is an unfamiliar face, the guard will ask the child to identify them before granting permission for the person to leave with the child. We then visited St. Peter school, where we learned that they also rely on the child to identify their parents before releasing them. It's good to know that schools take child safety seriously and have measures in place to ensure that only authorized persons can pick up the children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to the school visits, we also went to the Balingasag bus terminal to understand their process for monitoring buses. The clerk manually records the plate number and arrival time of all buses arriving in CDO or Butuan City. However, there are instances where drivers forget to pay the terminal fees, and it can be difficult for the clerk to monitor all incoming buses, especially when some are obscured by larger buses. Also, there have been cases of lost items on buses, but passengers are unable to provide the plate number for the specific bus, making it hard to track down the lost items.
Tumblr media
My insights for this week are the importance of safety measures, particularly for children. It's good to know that schools have processes in place to ensure that only authorized persons can pick up the children. It's always important to keep looking for ways to improve processes and ensure safety in our communities.

Week 8: Keeping Connected with ALOOTECH
Hi, this is week 8 of my blog. It was supposed to be a week filled with interviews with our target customers. However, because of the Holy Week, we were not able to conduct these interviews as planned. Instead, I decided to attend every mass of the week and participate in spiritual activities in our parish here in Lagonglong. Even though we were not able to work together physically, we continued to communicate through our group chat, discussing what our next tasks would be for the following week.
Through this experience, I realized that it is essential to always stay connected with your group, even if you are busy or unable to meet in person. It is important to keep in mind that even if we were late in completing our tasks, we could still provide our best effort. This week has taught me the value of being present in every aspect of my life, whether it's my spiritual life or my work with ALOOTECH. As we move forward, I am looking forward for seeing what we can achieve together. I am excited to see what the next week will bring and how we can adapt to any challenges that may come our way. Overall, this week has reminded me of the importance of staying positive and stay connected.

Week 7: Exploring Solutions for School Security and Logistics Issues of buying and selling of crops
Week 7 of my blog was a busy week for us students. Our group met online via Google Meet to discuss our topic for the week. We wanted to come up with ideas that could potentially help address some of the challenges faced in the school. During the meeting, we talked about our plans and strategies for gathering information and interviewing people, as well as how to collaborate effectively in our group.
Tumblr media
This week was an exciting one as we had the opportunity to interview the principal of a public elementary school in CDO. During our interview, the principal shared that absenteeism is not a major concern in their school. Initially, we considered proposing a mobile app to monitor the students' performance. However, after further discussion with the principal, she raised an issue about security on campus. This led my team and me to come up with an idea. We proposed a face recognition system that would recognize the faces of parents and guardians who come and go to pick up their children. The system would serve as a preventative measure against potential security threats such as kidnappers or other dangerous individuals.
Tumblr media
We presented our idea to the class. However, our instructor raised some concerns about conducting a study on public schools and recommended we focus on private schools instead. The instructor also advised us to approach private schools and parents' willingness to participate in a facial recognition system, while ensuring their data is protected.
During the same week, we also presented our Agrifind system to the class once again. This time, we changed the system's focus to better meet the needs of vegetable buyers in Agora. After interviewing couriers, retailers, and farmers, we transformed Agrifind into an app that tracks the location of vegetable couriers and provides an estimated time of arrival for buyers. This addresses a key concern of buyers who want to know exactly when their goods will arrive.
Our instructor provided valuable feedback, encouraging us to better understand the structural logistics and decision-making processes of the couriers involved in the Agrifind system. This will help us refine the app and better meet the needs of all parties involved.
Overall, it was a productive week of research and innovation as we explored important issues in both school security and agricultural logistics.

Week 6
Welcome to my blog week 6! This week, we recently presented the response of our last week's interviewee, where we realized there was a lack of data to support our idea. However, we were determined to overcome this challenge and gather more concise and reliable data to strengthen our proposal. We were not able to prepare a PowerPoint presentation as initially planned, as we only gathered limited data.
Unfortunately, our instructor did not approve our data as he was looking for more concise and reliable information. We acknowledge that we failed to meet our instructor's expectations and did not fully satisfy the requirements for our proposal. As a result, our proposal has not been approved yet. However, our instructor provided feedback and suggested that in order to continue with our idea, we need to interview more personnel in the school to gather more data.
Failure can provide valuable lessons, insights, and experiences that can ultimately lead to greater success in the future. Thank you.

WEEK 5: Mobile App Solution to Address Student Absenteeism and Tardiness in Elementary and High Schools
In my week 5 of our entrepreneurship subject. Our group decided to disregard the proposed AgriFind system and make a new idea. Our group decided to look for a problem in schools that we could solve with a new idea. We interviewed a teacher, who identified absenteeism and tardiness as a significant problem in schools, and a parent, who confirmed that they were not always aware when their child cut a class. Based on our findings, we decided to propose a mobile application that could help schools and teachers control attendance, connect with parents, and track student performance to address the issue of class cutting and weariness among elementary and high school students. Our mobile app solution would include features that allow teachers to monitor student attendance, keep parents informed about their child's attendance and academic performance, and provide tools to help students succeed in school. Parents would also receive notifications about their child's attendance and academic progress, allowing them to stay informed.
After presenting our idea to the class, our instructor advised us to interview more parents and teachers to ensure that absenteeism and tardiness were indeed significant problems in schools. He also conclude that it would be essential to include students in our interviews to get a better sense of their perspective on the problem and potential solutions.
In conclusion, we realized that we needed to gather more information to determine if absenteeism was a widespread problem among students. So, we visited another school to conduct additional interviews with teachers and students. During the week, we had the opportunity to talk to more teachers, and one teacher suggested that we speak with the school principal to understand the depth of the problem. Our experience demonstrated the importance of conducting extensive research and gathering feedback from all stakeholders when developing a solution to a problem.

Additional to Week 4 blog
As you remember during my week 2 of blog, our team presents three different ideas. These ideas included SmartFix, Palawan Express Pera Padala, and AgriFind.
After careful consideration, we decided to focus on AgriFind, a system that connects farmers with buyers to help solve the problem of buying and selling the products. However, we still faced challenges in developing our idea.
We encountered difficulty in contacting the CEO of Palawan Express, which led us to disregard the idea of using their platform for our project. Additionally, we discovered that SmartFix have many things to consider and wasn't a significant problem for many people, so we set it aside as well.

WEEK 4: Finding More Data: Interviewing Buyers and Farmers to Validate Our Idea
Last week, our group (ALOOTech) presented our idea for a system that connects farmers with buyers to help solve the problem of buying and sell the products. Our instructor challenged us to find more data to validate our idea, specifically by interviewing both buyers and farmers.
To gather more information, we conducted interviews with two farmers in Lagonglong and an old woman who sells fruits and vegetables in Agora, CDO. The farmers mentioned that they struggle with selling their crops at very low prices, which can be a major challenge for their livelihoods. This highlighted the need for a platform that can connect farmers with buyers who are willing to pay fair prices for their crops.
Our interview with the buyer in Agora, CDO also provided valuable insights. While she didn't face any major problems in purchasing crops because they only buy in Cogon, CDO where there is a courier that delivers the products. She did mention that the price of crops sold by farmers may be higher due to transportation costs and other expenses.
By interviewing both buyers and farmers, we gained a more complete understanding of the problem we're trying to solve. Our initial assumption that buyers were struggling to find and purchase crops from farmers was not entirely accurate, but we discovered that farmers are struggling with low prices for their crops, which may be influenced by transportation costs.
Moving forward, we will continue to gather more data from a diverse range of buyers and farmers to refine our idea and ensure that it addresses a real problem faced by both parties. Our System will aim to connect farmers with buyers who are willing to pay fair prices for their crops, while also taking into account transportation costs and other expenses that may affect the price of crops.
In conclusion, our interviews with farmers and buyers were a crucial step in validating our idea. By continuing to gather more data and insights, we can develop a system that addresses a real problem and provides value to both farmers and buyers, while also considering the transportation and other costs that affect the price of crops.

WEEK 3: Rejection Therapy and Idea Presentation
I. Hello, it's me again Nathan. This is my week 3 of my subject Technopreneurship. The previous weeks up into now, is increasing in challenges. We had given an activity in partners. We should record ourselves asking or convincing the full strangers to do or follow what we want to ask for them and they should response "No" or rejects us.
You can check or watch our clip:
II. This week, we presented our 3 ideas to the class. There are a lot of questions to our ideas but our instructor did not reject our ideas but instead he wants us to add more data and information to make it concise and flexible. I was happy hearing that to our instructor because he is a good person and understands the situation of every students.

WEEK 2
I. Introducing the Technology Technopreneurship.
II. Choosing of Group Members
Hello, Good day. This week is our second week. We did meetings twice a week for Technopreneurship. During the week, we had learned a lot of things to remember in technology technopreneurship and this is interesting. The Startup helps us in shaping small things into bigger ones. It stands for scalable, repeatable, and business model. When we compare a company and a startup, we see that they have distinct characteristics. The Business, for example, is creating brands and has a well-known business plan, whereas the startup is a short-term organization with speed and focus. There are a few crucial ideas that I needed to keep in mind in order to shape my small company concept with big goals to consider in order for me to become a successful entrepreneur. We also learned about the well-known companies that are now present.
Tumblr media
A person's mindset may have a significant influence on their performance in business. A growth mindset, a positive mentality, a and a continuous improvement mindset are all significant to us because they impact behavior, decision-making, problem-solving abilities, and adaptation to changing situations. Developing these attitudes helps prepare people for success in business.
Tumblr media
I had chosen my group members together with Ricci Jane Abao, Marck Laurente and Jevan Christopher Orina. We named our group "ALOOtech" that comes with our first letter of our lastnames. Our instructor told us to generate atleast three ideas. We brainstorm Ideas and come up three ideas. Those are AgriFind, SmartFix and PEPP. The idea of AgrFind is a communication channel between the buyer/customer and the farmer. They can easily see each other and have some good conversations on how to deal with the products.
This is what it means:
Tumblr media
Next is SmartFix
The SmartFix is a mobile application for online repair shop for devices to make people easily see the nearest and best repair service.
Tumblr media
Lastly is the PEPP or Palawan Express Pera Padala
The PEPP can lessen the waiting time of Palawan customers because it provide fast and easy way to fill out the sender and receiver form through a mobile application.

After completing the Innovation Index exam, I received 74.40 out of 100 for my own innovation mindset level. The highest score I have is 100 in the Innovation Zone. This signifies that this is my area of interest, and I am really motivated by innovation and entrepreneurship. My collaboration received the lowest score of 47.5. Maybe I used to be more independent or capable of doing more things on my own, which is not a good concept because the most essential thing is that we collaborate with people to obtain additional ideas. My trust scored 62 which is good for me because we don't need to trust directly to people because they might cause harm to your plans. Based on my scores, I had realize that I'm strong enough to innovate but I need to collaborate more to my team because is the most important for innovation and entrepreneurship.
My Personality Test
Tumblr media
This is the result of my Personality Test. I am a Protagonist type of person. It says that I am a inspiring optimists, readily taking action to do what they feel is right. Which is really right.
Tumblr media
I got 71% Extraverted. I enjoy doing outdoor activities.
Tumblr media
I got 52% Intuitive. I am very open minded. I value what are the future possibilities.
Tumblr media
I got 57% Feeling. The sensitivity is very important to me because it leads to good connection.
Tumblr media
This is my Identity and I got 51% Assertive. I use to be a confident person rather than worrying.
We individuals have many unique differences. We should embrace it and always good to others to matter what. Always Humble and Kind. These are things that we can be called a productive person.
I enjoyed a lot with these tests. I am so grateful to my instructor for allowing me to know my personality and how did I interact to others.
