Writing Process for Texting a Friend
When texting a friend, I do not put much thought into my writing in comparison to writing an essay. I typically just text them based on context of the conversation we are having. I don't worry about using capital letters or proper punctuation, as texting is very informal. I tend to use text abbreviations, such as "idk", "lol", and "omg". I also like to use emojis to express my feelings about a certain situation.

How I Text
When I text a friend, it is very contextual. Sometimes I send messages with very small and short sentences, sometimes even one word answers. This also depends on who I am texting however. When I will be texting my grandparents or other (more formal) figures, such as my boss, I will use more proper and formatted sentences. This is simply due to their older age and how they are texting me. Most of my grandparents do not know what emojis are or any internet slang, so I have to create sentences in a more formal way to ensure understanding. All in all, texting is simply speedy and basic to me. I usually send out texts without proofreading them or putting that much care into the messages.

After Graduation
Tumblr media
My revision process will include grammar checks and making sure that my content makes sense to more than one person. I think that asking multiple people to read your content might help you with revising the main idea. Another part of my revisions is to take out any unneeded words or complicated phrases. A strong approach to revisions helps for after graduation because it allows things to come more natural instead of revising so much at a time.p

My favorite show and why :)
Bob's Burgers is my favorite show ever. I rewatch it and the movie whenever I'm bored or feeling down. I also watch it as new seasons come out. I love Bob's Burgers because it's funny, lighthearted and sometimes it makes commentary on real world issues, which I appreciate and can laugh about.

What does your writing process look like when you draft an essay?
Tumblr media
When I draft an essay, I typically sit down and do my research first. I figure out what the essay is about, how I want to approach it, and make a Google Doc with all my information. This document is usually pretty chaotic, as I'm just jotting down ideas and copying and pasting in quotes or links I think could be good resources. Then, I use that to create my essay in a separate tab. @npfannen

Original Post (Week 3)
@npfannen
"What will your revision process look like? Why does a strong approach to revision matter for you, after graduation?"
My revision process for this upcoming multimodal essay/infographic will most likely be something along the lines of finishing a rough draft and then immediately taking at least an hour-long break before returning to revise. This usually helps me recuperate some energy and brain power after a long work/study session and makes it easier for me to analyze my work from a higher perspective or get a fuller picture before I begin revising.
Tumblr media
My revision process will be lengthy and tedious because I know that I want to create an infographic that can really help me throughout the semester and also through the rest of school and into my career. A strong revision approach will matter to me after graduation since communication skills are an important aspect of Media Arts, and to be successful in this field you have to have strong communication skills.

My favorite tv show is adventure time. I love everything about this show. I watched it since I was a kid and I enjoy how the show developed and grew up along side me. The first few seasons were simple and had a looser storyline, but as the seasons continued it grew into a complex world with interesting characters and a layered history that you wouldn’t expect from a simple cartoon. The show ended when I turned 18, so in a way it feels like I grew up alongside the show. It means a lot to me, to the point of where I have a small adventure time tattoo and I watch it consistently to this day.

What is Content Reflection Content Example
Tumblr media
Above is a rough draft of a content example included in my "What is Content Reflection" assignment. I selected this template from Canva because it organizes each key concept well and provides additional visuals that represent them. As someone who benefits from as much detail as possible, the graphic provides enough information for me to learn from it while still remaining uncluttered. Each key concept is clearly defined in a way that I can easily understand. Additionally, there is an explanation in the context of creating and analyzing web writing for the four key concepts.

Original Post
When I draft an essay, I jot down all the main points I want to focus on, and then write about them one at a time. this helps me gather my ideas and figure out the best way to put it all together when I go to write my final draft. Typically, I write most if not all of the paper at once, and I try to do it early so that I can look over it multiple times if I need to add or take away information.

what will your revision process look like? why does a strong approach to revision matter for you, after graduation?
When revising the first time, I would read it all the way through making sure that sentences flow correctly, my main points are highlighted and that it catches the attention of the reader. I might add useful quotes to places that are lacking evidence, or maybe take out a few words/sentences to a paragraph that could be shorter. I tend to read through my content multiple times before completing it because I catch mistakes even after the first time I read through. This is helpful after graduation because I will double check and even triple check content which will reduce mistakes.

Original Posts #4 Week 3
Tumblr media
I highlighted the key concepts using a separate shape from the rest of the concepts. Although separated, I made sure to connect the shapes to each other at a middle point between purpose and audience. I chose to do so because the 2 other key concepts are all encompassing, and audience and purpose are both closer related to the other concepts on the graphic.

Writing Process for Drafting an Essay
When drafting an essay, I first think about what the assignment is, then research the topic. This includes finding resources and information that contributes to the content. Then, I like to make an outline of my key ideas and supporting details, along with some information that I want to include in my introduction and conclusion. Once I have an outline created, I start drafting my essay, and I make sure to represent each key idea as a new body paragraph. I learned this writing process in late elementary/early middle school, and I have used it ever since.

Assignment Questions
Do you want us to include all of our posts that we used during the reflection twice? Like in the reflection and in the tumblr posts section? Also, how would you like this formatted? In the way of an essay or just as written down thoughts? I would also like to ask how long the reflection assignment should be, is there a minimum word count or just an estimated amount of words? Thank you for answering my questions! @npfannen

Original Content Short Writing 1/2: Drafting an Essay
When I draft an essay I usually start with a thesis and an outline. When I’m writing an essay it helps me with my writing and understanding of the topic when the essay has a main focus and a few main points. I’ll start with a simple question such as “Why is the sky blue?,” and then I’ll add points to that question and make it into a statement such as “The sky is blue because of the size of blue light waves, how those waves travel, and the scattering of light.” After that I’ll make bullet points for my main topic (the blue sky) and my supporting points.
