Stancy Week - Day Three - Badass Couple
Nancy and Steve are so determined to protect their entire found family, sometimes with their signature weapons in hand, and they’re always the first to put themselves on the front lines of a bloody interdimensional war… and I love how that’s juxtaposed with their shiny, artfully tousled hair, a variety of carefully chosen shoes and accessories, and all their iconic, classic yet trendy, midwestern 80s teen outfits. They’re a preppy, killer cinnamon roll battle couple with giant eyes like cartoon deer. They’re hidden badasses who do damage at The Gap.

stancyweek2024: day 4, badass couple

“Do you think we’re cursed to always fight these monsters?” Nancy asks with a huff and grateful grab of the beer Steve’s offering.
“Probably. But maybe we’ll get a flamethrower or something to help us.” The axe and shotgun that only had three shots left that the pair used to fight off the demadogs that’ve decided to torture their colleges campus was less than ideal.
“I’ll call Hopper tomorrow and see if he can get us some better equipment.” That conversation should be fun after Nancy spent an hour alone assuring Hopper and Joyce that her and Steve would be absolutely fine off on their own at college. With the Wheeler parents too focused on Holly and moving out of Hawkins and Steve’s parents fucking off to who knows where, Hopper and Joyce have become pseudo parents and have the gray hair to prove it.
“Dustin’s gonna kill me.” Steve buries his face into Nancy’s shoulder as she laughs lightly and hums in sympathy before threading her free hand into Steve’s hair.
“It’s not your fault those dogs showed up, we were just trying to have date night.” Pizza and a movie got rudely interrupted by the shrieking of Nancy’s poor roommate seeing one of those things through the window and nearly giving herself a heart attack.
“You think your roommate is feeling better after having Johnathan comfort her?” It’s asked with a smirk that Nancy grimaces at. Johnathan had rushed in just when her roommate screamed and had whisked her off to his dorm on the other side of campus for some “comfort” that Steve and Nancy both shook their heads at. Argyle being back in California and Johnathan staying in Indiana has caused some weird midlife crisis for him or something.
“I might buy him a plane ticket to Cali myself.” It wouldn’t be the craziest thing Nancy’s done for Johnathan.
“Who’s gonna help us keep the college safe?” If the dogs are already here after only a few months of Steve and Nancy attending, this college is so screwed.
“A bomb?” Steve snorts at Nancy’s joke before leaning forward to press a kiss to her lips.
“I bet we can get one off Murray.”
“Mm or I build one in the chem lab and you help me steal all the ingredients I need.” A slightly concerned look crosses Steve’s face as he pulls back.
“Are we actually gonna build a bomb?” He asks in far too much concern that Nancy can’t help but stare back seriously at him for a moment longer, just to freak him out, then she’s bursting into a laugh.
“You’re an idiot Steve Harrington.” She says between laughs that leave Steve gapping at her but the expression quickly falls as he begins to laugh too.
“And you’re beautiful Nancy Wheeler.” The side of Nancy’s jaw is caught in Steve’s hand as he pulls her into a smiling kiss that only gets broken by Nancy giggling more.
