Heracles - the Mightiest hero. I made this a little while back but I still love it. My favourite hero in Greek mythology is always a good opener for a new social media. Hello everyone!

Perseus and Andromeda In a lot of classical artwork, I always see Andromeda depicted as white/greek, and since she's the Princess of Aethiopia, I wanted to try and make a more authentic, historically accurate depiction. I hope you enjoy! In other words: She's everything, he's just Perseus. (Nah jk, Perseus is a really solid dude overall, I just had to make the reference)

A bunch of doodles of Hera’s youth bc I really enjoy the variant where Hera wasn’t eaten by Kronos and was raised by Oceanus and Tethys. It just has so much potential y’know?

Yasuke - the African Samurai One of the most fascinating historical figures of all time imo; a former-slave (likely) from Mozambique who was sent to Japan by Portuguese Jesuits and became a retainer under Oda Nobunaga. What a story! I hope you guys enjoy

I just crossed paths with these illustrations by Peter Connolly and I must share 🙊.
Look at Athena and Hera and Odypen at the top, all rocking mycenian garments I'm screaming crying doing the worm.
(then in the back there's Aphrodite, Apolo, Poseidon, Ares and others who are not named).

Athena - Patron of Heroes
I wanted to draw Athena next to the heroes in Greek myth she helps out the most, in this case I decided on Diomedes and Heracles, both were gifted immortality after death.

Heracles and the Buddha
This is based on the fascinating fusion of cultures after Alexander the Great invaded India, otherwise known as Indo-Greek or Greco-Buddhism. In Gandharan sculpture, Heracles is depicted alongside the Buddha as Vajrapani, the Buddha's protector. The pairing of two figures so iconic in their mythologies seemed perfect material for art. The Buddha would help Heracles with anger management, while Heracles would help with clobbering evildoers. Business as usual.
