I havent seen anyone talk about this yet so im making a post.
So lets say you’re researching something for a paper (or just for fun) and the research paper you want to read is behind a paywall, or the site makes you create an account first, or makes you pay to download, or limits you to only 5 free articles, or otherwise makes it difficult for you to read what you want.
Tumblr media
do not fear! copy the link to the article
Tumblr media
go to sci-hub.se         (the url is always changing so its best to check out whereisscihub.now.sh to find what the current url is)
Tumblr media
slap the article link in there

Hi! You don't need to answer this if you don't want to. I was wondering, how do you deal with specially bad days? (Again, you don't need to answer and also thank you in general)

So my friend was telling me yesterday that she got a new Samsung smart TV for her living room. One afternoon she was sitting on the couch across on the TV, which was turned off, talking to her friend about social anxiety.
The next day her Samsung phone, Facebook account, and her son’s Instagram account (which is linked to her phone number) were blown up with ads for social anxiety medications.
She called Samsung up like “WTF“ and they admitted that it was a “feature“ on the smart TV for it to record conversations even when turned off in order to provide customized ads. You could turn off the setting but of course you probably wouldn’t even know about it unless something like this happened because it’s not like they readily advertise “this thing will record your conversations even when it’s turned off“.

01/08/20 ♡ Long time no see! Honestly, lockdown has been really taxing on my mental health, and a lot of my journal pages are stuff I keep to myself. A lot of mental health ramblings and reflections. But I’m finally starting new medication, and I hope this will give me a step up ♡ Here is my August spread - hopefully I can keep on top of things! How are you all? Can you believe it’s already August?

the struggle™
I’m about to finish my current journal (probably will last me for another month or so), and I have this beautiful notebook that I want to use but... its has blank pages. No lines.
I have always struggled with writing straight because I have garbage spatial awareness and it translates into my writing ending up all screwd and ugly when I don’t have lines for guidance. Also my handwriting kinda sucks lol.
Do you guys have any tips on learning to write straight? I don’t want to be using a ruler to draw lines and help me write every single time I wanna use it or plan a new spread, it feels like such a waste of time... but the notebook is so cool... help. lol

Have you ever thought “Man, I feel impossibly shitty and I don’t know why”?
Run through this checklist before you do anything else.
What have I eaten in the last 24 hours? Is it enough? If not, go and eat some food, you butt.
Am I hydrated? If not, put some fluids in your body, fool.
Have I slept an acceptable amount in the last 24 hours and preceeding few days? If not, do your utmost to have a nap. You need a reset, bro.
Have I been outside/partaken in whatever form of exercise I am capable of? You’re stagnating, homie.
Have I communicated with anyone? At all? About anything? In the last 24 hours? Sup, you’re not actually a lone wolf, and even if you’re just shouting BUTTLUMPS at someone over the intertubes, it’s better than shouting it at yourself inside your own head.
So basically: eat, drink, sleep, walk, and talk. If you still feel like emotional ass after that, start looking for more involved explanations.

my mental health has been disgusting lately, so im trying to get back on track.
im going to be trying this new spread for may. i merged my sleep tracker with my monthly spread because i realized i didnt need that much space for my monthly spread either way. maybe i’m wrong but i’ll just find out as the month goes and adjust for next month, as one does. next page is my regular habits tracker spread. whole point is that i only had to write down the days of the month once for all three things, so that’s exciting.
also i think i actually need to write down my long term goals for my thesis because im having issues with time mangement.
anyone got ideas for a long term study plan?

- helpful sites i’ve discovered on my journey to coding !
(✿◠‿◠) hey there pals, i wanted to share a few sites i’ve come across within the past couple of days that have helped me with coding. coding is still something i’m learning but with the help of these websites, it’s slowly becoming easier to do / understand.
coveloping - has a bunch of generators for things like border-radius, shape, etc and provides you the code and you just have to pluf it into your code and adjust it.
w3schools - pretty much my go to for everything coding, provides codes, and tutorials.
remove.bg - i use this to make .pngs for themes, i like it because it smooths the corners of the .png and gives it a very clean edge.
whatismyscreenresolution - this site lets you see your theme and coding on different screen resolutions.
toptal - i use this site to get different patterns for my themes and inspo.
codyhouse.co devices - this section of the site gives you codes for different devices incase you wanna have your theme inside of a device, i haven’t figured out how to do so but figured it might be useful for someone else.
codyhouse.co components - this site offers alot of different coding for different stuff, i just have it to play around with.
code pen - this site offers a lot of tutorials for coding that may be useful to some.
15 best web safe fonts - this article is great when not knowing what fonts to use.
postimage - i use this to upload and get codes for ,png images / sidebar images.
octomoosey theme tutorial - this tutorial is really what helped me get familiar with coding tumblr themes and what not, it’s great for people starting out.
html & css code samples - this is pretty helpful.
icon finder - offers a bunch of icons in svg form, png form and other forms. they have a paid section, but the free section is pretty great.
honeybee icon font by suiomi - my favorite when it comes to adding icons to themes.
css clip-path maker - something i found recently for making shapes, it also gives you the code.
