What is IV about?
Tumblr media
IV is a story made by me, about a found family consisting of people who are both human/nonhuman living in a strange world and, when figuring out how to pay taxes, decide to become pop stars. IV (4 in Roman numerals, which becomes a very important number)
It gets more complex and less silly from here. It's divided into what I call four "seasons":
Season 1: IV
Season 2: Vices and Virtues
Season 3: Devourer of Moons
Season 4: The Last Thing
Guide!
Characters! Beyonds! Entities! Inspirations!

Character Introductions: Rina Mandurugo!
A manananggal (Filipino vampiric being who consumes the unborn) who went on to study fashion and the performing arts, she lives with Hugo and the rest of IV and is the one to suggest making a pop group/band.
Extroverted and fun to be around, you can consider her to be like your big sister, so please, call her "ate", she won't mind at all!
Little fun facts:
Hugo has a crush on her. She's very aware.
Bisexual
Inherited her manananggal nature from her mother (it's from mother to daughter)
Great at singing
Arene's "ate", and was the one who took him in.
She's like your very annoying but well-meaning older sister who went to study abroad.
Splits into two and everytime she does this, she looses her legs which sends her into a panic.
Species: Manananggal:
"The manananggal (Tagalog: mana'nang'gal) is a mythical creature in the Philippines that can separate its upper torso from the lower part of its body. Their fangs and wings give them a vampire-like appearance."
-Wikipedia
The myths of manananggal differ for every person. For some they consume also the elderly, some say they consume the uterus. I'm just using the information I know about them (eat fetuses, inherited from mother to daughter, will remain a monster forever if you put garlic/salt on their lower half)
In IV, manananggals bear tattoos of demonic wings on their backs, this is where they hide their wings when the time is needed.

Character Introductions: Nori!
Nori is the future. Not a metaphor. Literally. The future. Itself.
Daughter of Time, and bored out of her mind, she takes on the identity of an animation student by the name of, well. Nori. Her story takes place in another project (that takes place in the same universe as IV, "Yesterday")
Little fun facts:
Her little brother (The Past), is referred to as Charles, or Bonbon.
Lives in the "Heart of the Moving Clock", a realm that contains the very essence of Time itself. It's accessible from her apartment.
Has future vision
The neon glass pieces you see in the image above just float around her, able to shift and assemble into anything, from a chair, to a weapon
She can float.
She much prefers a physical form, due to her adoration for humanity, and her desire to live like them.
Her name refers to seaweed but she just chose it randomly
Has an adopted human brother who's a time traveler
Her eyes are static noise. Can also vomit static noise
Turns monochrome when humanity does an action that could cease the possibility of a future.
Species: Entity: The Future
"The future is the time after the past and present. Its arrival is considered inevitable due to the existence of time and the laws of physics. Due to the apparent nature of reality and the unavoidability of the future, everything that currently exists and will exist can be categorized as either permanent, meaning that it will exist forever, or temporary, meaning that it will end. In the Occidental view, which uses a linear conception of time, the future is the portion of the projected timeline that is anticipated to occur. In special relativity, the future is considered absolute future, or the future light cone."

Character Introductions: Lace!
Lace is a sea siren, and in my story's canon, sea sirens looks closer to humans as the sea is closer to human land. Sirens from the ocean or the abyss, look less human and fit more like their environment.
Lace abandoned the sea to pursue her one true love: baking. (You thought it was a human? Foolish! Only food is worthy!)

Character Introductions: Tuzi!
Tuzi is a descendant of the mythical jade rabbit in East Asian folklore. In the Chinese myth, the jade rabbit is a companion of the moon goddess Chang'e. In Korea and Japan, the rabbit is pounding rice cakes. In Vietnam, they once again accompany gods.
Tuzi appears once in IV, then never again. They and Hugo's family have a millennia long conflict that they try to repair via an annual challenge.

Character Introductions: Paradisia!
A pretty minor character, she's the virtue (not the angel class) of diligence, reincarnated into the body of a young Italian girl.
Her name is a reference to the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri: Paradisio. She has siblings named Inferno "Fern" and Purgatorio "Antonio"
