The situation of the Congo Genocide is complicated because we are all implicated in it. We can’t ascribe it to a foreign policy state interest as we can regarding Palestine. It is something we, as consumers, all have a hand in and given the ubiquity of the resources involved, a lot of us are caught off of guard by this premonition of the type of wars to come. This is that nasty intersection of neo-colonialism and hyper capitalism that pits the Global South against the Global North. It’s a war of sustaining a way of life means imposing slavery and genocide on others. This is an instance of global capitalism and hyper consumption as a lifestyle and convenience is being pitted against the humanity of those we deem expendable.

Dr. Areej, Dr. Ahmad, and their child Sarra are a Gazan family who have been suffering from displacement, hunger, and lack of medical care throughout the genocide. Along with three other members of their family — Dr. Areej's mother and Dr. Ahmad's mother and father — they are seeking to evacuate to Egypt.
Please donate what you can and share. Donations have been slow — as of March 10, they have not yet raised even $2000. Can we try to raise at least $1000 in the next few days?

My one friend group can't stop saying, "See you in hell!" in a cheerful voice instead of, "Talk to you later!" and my other friend group can't stop calling things "penis" instead of "cool" or "good", so I just unironically uttered the phrase, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," as I got off the phone.

I understand that there have been talks about an Israeli invasion of Rafah and I understand how absolutely catastrophic that would be for what is potentially the most packed area in the world, but I just want to point out that it feels like everyone is anticipating with fear a potential assault on Rafah whereas attacks and airstrikes are already happening and in fact they never even stopped for over 6 months now.
Keep talking about Rafah and keep talking about Gaza. There are absolutely no "safe zones" in Gaza and there never have been.

finally getting around to posting my not-quite-finished nandermo x handmaiden bathtub scene comic that I made a little over two years ago. I don't think I'll be finishing it in full anytime soon, so I decided to just post what I did finish because I still really like the art style I ended up using :) my sketch for what would be the next panel and a page of warm up sketches for nandor and guillermo are below the cut.

In this video from 2015, Democracy Now! covers Israel’s “Operation Protective Edge.”
“The Israeli veterans group, Breaking the Silence, released testimonies of more than 60 Israeli officers and soldiers which it says illustrate a “broad ethical failure” that “comes from the top of the chain of command.” More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed in the assault, the vast majority civilians. On Israel’s side, 73 people were killed, all but six of them soldiers. During the 50-day operation, more than 20,000 Palestinian homes were destroyed, and hundreds of thousands of people are still displaced. We hear candid video testimonies from the soldiers and speak to former Israeli paratrooper Avner Gvaryahu, director of public outreach at Breaking the Silence.”
Please listen to the soldiers who participated in this routine “lawn mowing” operation, as they testify about a fraction of the war crimes that were casually committed by the Israel army against Palestinian noncombatants. These admissions show a persistent state of mind, and that Israel has always intentionally and indiscriminately targeted civilians, and proves that the IDF is knowingly committing war crimes against the residents of Gaza.
This did not begin on October 7th. 🇵🇸

most people watch the x files because they either want to see aliens or watch mulder and scully kiss. coincidentally the x files is a show that is well known for avoiding showing us aliens at all costs and also not letting mulder and scully kiss.
