𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗚 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘. 𝗜'𝗠 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 ONCE AGAIN
During Winter 2023 the final seasonal lineup, I check out first season of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun anime adaptation based on its "shounen" manga and while animation itself isn't the best and cheapens the quality, it was rather engaging overall.
Immersive world building of Netherworld, intriuging lore involving secrets of all inhabitants, likable protagonist and cast of characters. They have everything in a great show...even some bad cons.
Obviously there is one complaint considered as a disgraceful omen in my eyes: F***KING AMERI AZAZEL.
Introduced as the student council president of Babyls Demon School. Strong-willed, ambitious, domineering, and beautiful. (Though not as elegantly beautiful as Asmodeus. Sorry not sorry) She is based of an exiled angel from showering humanity the forbidden knowledge during Hellenization. It made sense to the Azazels discovering our blue colored paper is human but what bothers me is how the series entitles itself on shoehorning Ameri in EVERY EPISODE OF HER hopelessly falling in an one-sided love with Iruma. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗍𝗈 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗉𝗈𝗂𝗇𝗍 𝗌𝗁𝖾 𝖻𝖾𝖼𝗈𝗆𝖾𝗌 𝗋𝖺𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗋 𝖼𝗈𝗇𝖼𝖾𝗋𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝖻𝗎𝗍 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Like the poor kid just wants friends and enjoy his highschool life without getting forced into romance and out of all the demons in Babyls, Asmodeus means it well as he was sensible enough to sacrifice his feelings for friendship. (I'm deducing that homophobic shounen editors are guilty here and not Nishi. If only this was given a treatment similar to Owl House or Steven Universe)
Kind of gives me feeling of what I called "Marie canon love interest syndrome" *shudders* They downgraded her as one of female love interests makes it kind of insulting.
From season 1, Ameri has really good moments without Iruma and she is awesome out there. However once I begin to watch season 2 in the future, they assassinated her strong personality. GOOD HEAVENS, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO HER!? EDITORS EXPLAIN YOURSELVES.(╯‵□′)╯︵┴─┴
I mostly skip Ameri-centric episodes, because I never care much of girlboss queen being awfully weak for our good-hearted demon king. Strong girls downplayed into love interests is a pet peeve of mine. Butch Lesbians exists, alright!?
I never want to hate Ameri but character-wise, she is never a great female character.

Probably I'm the only one who despise almost every romcom anime existed including the notorious "Love After World Domination. Not joking here, but that alone triggered my internalized heterophobia.🤮
For those who enjoy it, I won't stop you, but my problem is how no single human being address it's flaws. (Though I would admit I was nitpicking, but who cares.)
Here's my hot take:
• Nothing out of the ordinary or problematic happens between the main leads and their relationship troubles had little to no conflict. Rather their dynamic was already been seen before. Breaking them up would be quite exciting in a sadistic manner and I would love to witness that fiasco. (No wonder why people prefer dramas in soap operas despite my mutual hatred to them.)
• Mostly the series recycled every tiresome highschool tropes existed, i.e school festival, beach, etc.
• Less memorable side characters are nothing but one-note or stereotypes.
• Also it's not enemies-to-lovers, but rather leans onto yet another Romeo and Juliet and a combination of rival clubs are at each other's throats
• Concept of the setting and story were rather questionable.
• As a parody itself, it wasn't that good.
• Narrator constantly shouting exposition or explanation is rather cringy plus annoying Nas heck.
• TOO MUCH SACCHARINE.
I know it was meant to make me laugh and turn off my brain, but all what it did is making me more cynical and revolt against too much artificial sweeteners I intake.
So I'm sorry, but I hate Love After World Domination and it will never change that thought.😤

*tries not to vomit*🤢
Honestly if any generic or awful heteronormative romcom animes were to shove at my screen, I wouldn't stop myself from having to puke.

Finally, the ever-loathing pest is about to end...for now.
Honestly, I still hate it no matter what and I only hope the author ends it horribly like it should. Attack on Titan had done it, so I might as well witness the turd storm of an ending where everyone dies and the rest of its corrupted clan were dead meat.

I want to address the big elephant in the room once again, because the overall non-con, deranged, garbage is coming up next month of 2022.
Possibly, no one on earth expresses their frustrations on Vantas no Carte and it makes me sick. It's as if they are not allowed to be free confessing their hate or despise. Can I have at least an anti-fan out there?
It just goes to show the fandom is toxic from the start. Everyone praises it, when literally there are other vampire-themed animes that are worth to watch.
I said it before that Vanitas no Carte was awful and it will always be. It's a complete disgrace of what vampires suppose to be.
Go ahead and block me, but I must warn you all that if Vanitas no Carte got blocked outside of countries, don't blame me.😡
EDIT: Not going to say the fandom are supporting or justify r**e and abusive behavior, but it's inevitable. They are downright toxic and horrible.
One last thing, if Vanitas gets killed at the end, I will not take pity nor remorse of his death. He's no longer a human, but a monster possessed by evil.

My Issues With Sam Manson
Or, please stop simplifying legitimate criticisms we have with this girl.
Tumblr media
Lately I've also been seeing these same points talking about how the phandom dislikes Sam for the crime of being a teenage girl. There are legitimate problems with her character and the harmful message she spread. Frankly put I'm so sick & tired of seeing our complaints be reduced to "you only hate her because she's a woman!!"
We don't dislike Sam because she's a teenage girl (anyone who do has serious issues to work out) but because the narrative excuses her flaws and bad attitude.
What I mean by that is, she has flaws, which is perfectly fine, but rarely faces detriments for them and even gets rewarded. She got no chances of growing, in fact with each season she got worse. The writers wanted to put her on a pedestal at the cost of other female characters. ESPECIALLY nonwhite girls.
The writers do not develop her beyond confirming her endgame with Danny. She never learned to open her mind or being respectful of other girls' interests. Despite some episodes that COULD have had her views challenged & she grows from them. She never learned to temper her hypocrisy. Sam never made up with her parents - we don't even see their side of the story - her character remained the same. She ended up rewarded with a guy she called selfish and boring because he gave up his powers - to protect her & his own family. The overfocus of such romantic subplot came at the cost of literally every other girl in the series. They were put down to reinforce "Sam is Right." Heck Danny himself was dumbed down a bit to make Sam a well of wisdom.
In Girls Night Out she talked down to Jazz as if implying the latter didn't know how to handle ghosts. In her very first episode she changed the school lunch menu to food only SHE would eat without any consultation or mindfulness of allergies for that matter. In Phantom Planet she barely contributed beyond screeching at Danny for being just another boring human which only gives weight to the sentiment that she only loved him for his powers (ergo uniqueness). She was never made to held the same level as the male characters. In Fact half the time she had to get involved is a problem she started first. Sam fell in love with a guy because he looked similar to Danny's Ghost Form (again only adding more weight to the "she only loved him for his powers" argument).
Especially at the cost of characters like Valerie and Paulina. Valerie's arc never got completed because at that point the writers wanted to get the cogs going for Amethyst Ocean as quickly as possible. The last we see of her is standing in the background clapping and cheering. No resolution for her and Danny. She didn't even contribute in her Huntress Form. Valerie was a crucial part in the first two season of the show. She was relatable and sympathetic, she had challenges to overcome. Her flaws weren't excused and she had to LEARN and grow from a stuck up brat to a vengeful hunter to an understanding anti heroine. We were so close to seeing her arc get closure. Heck Valerie even gave up Danny because she wanted to protect him for her own secret life as a ghost hunter. Her chemistry with Danielle was also would've done wonders with her arc. But in S3 it was forgotten, she was forgotten, all to push the Sam as endgame. Weird considering she spied on Danny & Valerie out of envy when they went on their date. Then she had the nerve to call out Danny for spying on her & Gregor when the only reason did so to protect her form being targeted by an evil ghost or the Guys in White. Sam didn't even feel compassion for Val when her dad lost his job and she ended uo living in horrible conditions abandoned by fake friends. And Sam's supposed to be the nice one??
Paulina at least got comeuppance for her crappy behavior but again she was demonized as worse than Sam because of her femininity. You could say she and Sam were foils (which they are) but Paulina was written to be worse than she actually was while Sam did truly selfish things and never truly addressed.
The Beauty Pageant episode....boy that was a DOOZY of a plot. She willingly joined a pageant to complain about high beauty standards and shallow girls, when literally NONE of the other models pressured her into joining or bullied her. She even WON yet had the audacity to throw the trophy on the ground in an extremely unsportsmanlike act. The narrative supports her action despite her clearly being in the wrong.
Her having flaws in of itself is not the problem but, the way the show HANDLES her flaws as if they're strengths to be emulated. Yes you could say that Sam herself was wasted potential. Then again she was Butch's intended pet character and the main love interest so of course she had to be Perfect! She should've had a meaningful arc but no. She's still that same obnoxious excuse for a Strong Female Character that the show forces us to sympathise with.
This isn't me saying you should start hating Sam. This is me saying please take the time to read our legitimate complaints before strawmanning us. Sam reinforces the tired Not Like Other Girls Trope, the two biggest victims being WOC, and the show treats this as a good thing. It is not a good thing, seeing interesting female characters esp. Woc be put down to put a very poorly written character on a pedestal.

Great, the utter non-con degenerates are back.😒
Next time whoever made this filthy adaptation, give it a strict parental rating, please?
It's no longer a shounen if you are fetishizing r**e that is meant to be portrayed as evil and it's common throughout other countries facing the exact same abusive scenario.
Hate me all you want, but I warn you all, don't take it as a joke.😡💢

Since the fandom brought nothing but shame and you all tolerate abuse and non-con, The Case Study of Vanitas/Vanitas no Carte is now one of most overrated anime I hate.
I will never condone such abominable behavior of yours.😡

Got to acknowledge the big elephant in the room since part 2 of this dumpster fire is coming next year.
Or I would like to call it, an abomination.
One time, I rant about "The Case of Study of Vanitas/Vanitas no Carte" for it's convenient heterosexual romance, which I'm allergic to, but now I can see the whole picture.
Both the anime and manga showcases abusive behavior, non-con, and s**ualized scenes, but the fandom praises it!?🤬
It's a shounen series, but seriously why on earth the author have to include those stuff if you are publishing with that rating? (I can tell they want to trick the audience just to sell their manga, but I don't know...)
I get for psychological reasons, though I think it's still wrong. They should have put an age-appropriate warning before the network airs their anime, otherwise some consequences will arise.
At first, I was expecting an action-packed vampire, steampunk-themed anime with only platonic relationships that I will cherish, but what I get are disturbing scenes, unlikable toxic characters, and unhealthy relationships, which are unacceptable in my opinion. (No offense to Jun Mochizuki, but their works are considered problematic.)
Not to mention the ship wars...JUST WHY!? I'm not here for this atrocity all over again ever since Hamefura stirred up another catastrophic storm! 😠
Won't get any apologies at all and that is fine by me, because Vanitas no Carte does not deserve the praise, rave and attention from the fandom, nor all the casual audience.
Whenever I make a negative rant about this trash, anyone who is a fan told me to NOT WATCH IT and not complain, but guess what, YOU CAN'T! (In fact, you are being a hypocrite towards freedom of criticism.)
Good thing there are fewer people who confessed their repulsion and frustration onto the series.
Do continue tuning into the series and I won't stop you, but DON'T EXPECT ME TO CHANGE MY MIND. Any excuses of why it's great should be thrown out to the garbage can.
Even when they offer a new chapter, it was never good to begin with...🥴
