Okay, for the grand total of 1 followers that I have(hi, I guess), I’ll be posting an update about the book.
Here’s the basic premise and setting:
The continent is named Calavos. It is located in the northern hemisphere of the planet, which is named Folum. Humans populated the continent for a third of recorded history, about 4 thousand years. However, sometime during the 5th era, a majority of the humans disappeared, with only a few select tribes and peoples left behind. Current historians could find nothing in the known records of how, why or even where they left, except one mentioning of something called “The Great Withdrawal.”
Over the years, the information about the humans and their accomplishments significantly diminished, to the point where little is known beyond their architectural prowess, as seen with their impressive cities and temples, a majority of which are ruins.
Now, here’s where it begins to differ from most fantasy settings
For one thing, there are no humans. As stated previously, most of them left some odd 4 thousand years ago. Now, there are the stereotypical races, such as elves, orcs, dwarves, etc. But they are drastically different from how they are usually portrayed in fantasy.
Let’s start with Orcs, shall we? For one, they aren’t absolutely massive. They’re pretty much what would be considered peak human condition, with the average height around 6ft. They do have greenish skin, though. But, and that’s a big but, they aren’t stupid nor inherently evil. They are pretty smart, and are just as much people as every one else. However, they are treated as such by most other races, the High Elves in particular.
Speaking of which, let’s talk about the elves. Now, these aren’t your run of the mill, “frolic and dance” elves. For starters, the dark elves live in a massive underground network of caverns that span all of Calavos. They are actually pretty normal, all things considered. It’s the other elves that are messed up.
The wood elves live in a massive forest that spans for miles. Inhabiting the heart of the forest, sightings are uncommon. Wood elves believe if they damage nature, such as eating plants or building out of trees would anger the gods that created them. So, they eat meat, from animals or people. That’s right, they’re cannibalistic. They make huts out of bones and skins of their prey.
High elves aren’t much better., though they think they are. They live on an island off the southern coast named Saveria. They are a prideful and prejudicial race, believing themselves superior to all others. So superior, in fact, that they are slavers, usually enslaving Orcs. Be it for labor, entertainment or even sexual purposes, you name it, these slaves for it.
Yeah, this is going to be a pretty dark story. No LOTR shit, no TES shit. I’m making it dark. If that stuff isn’t for you, fine by me. I will be having trigger warnings, and I might even do plot synopses after chapters heavy with things such as that.
I won’t be making it so dark that it’s unreadable. I’m making this story as a way to channel my creativity in a healthy way. It will be a journey of growth and acceptance, with all the characters. Most of them are representing facts of my own life, and how I deal with them.

Hello, I am Inanis Vitæ. I’m an author of a sorts. I haven’t had any formal education in writing, but I’ve always been gifted when it came to writing stories.
So recently, I had some ideas for characters and I thought, “hey, maybe I can write a book with these characters and make a story.” That was in the November of last year. I didn’t do much with that, besides write down the basic concepts and world building. I didn’t think about it much until recently, at which point I starting going ham on it. I’m talking magic system, lore, characters, even in depth analysis of flaws that these characters will have.
I won’t go to far into the details, however. I mean, right now at least. While I do have many of the details down, I’m still a ways from actually beginning to write the book. So, until then, I’ll be posting updates on the book about the characters, plot points, world building, etc. Feedback would be appreciated, if there’s anybody that sees this and actually cares.
That’s it for now.
Also, one last important thing: I do have a title for the book. It’s Son of Snow, book one(yes, I’m planning at least three books in the series): Winter’s Dawn.
Again, another thing. Check out my Wattpad(I know, I know) for more details such as the cover and main synopsis.
