I totally love the way Sam protectively supports Dean. Those big hands trying to be as gentle and soothing as big brother's ones used to be for him all his life.

If Dean weren't so overwhelmed with embarrassment because macho big brother must not be weak, he could give himself the luxury of being helped and cuddled by his loving baby brother. He could lean into that embrace and let himself be warmed up and soothed.

It's too early for him, though.

I’ve been following you around my entire life! I mean, I’ve been looking up to you since I was four, Dean. Studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So yeah, I know you. Better than anyone else in the entire world.

dean is so loaded with guilt and self-loathing, taking care of sam is who he is so he'd never in his life act on his selfish desire and take advantage of his brother like that, it would break sam, it would ruin what they have to the point of no return, he won't even allow himself to think about it VS dean is actually so absurdly obsessed with sam, he'd like to own him in every sense of the word, and if sam wants to give him this one more thing he'll take it and fucking drink deep and it won't even be about sex, and he'll think, let big brother take care of you, sammy

it’s ok sam we know you just want your big brother to pick you up and hold you like you’re small again we know you desperately want to fit in his arms again and that it rips you to shreds that you aren’t his tiny little brother anymore it’s ok we know
