The Golden Compass movie's faux-LOTR intro is incredible bc it tries to do the dwarves, elves, men thing by going THE WITCHES OF THE SKY, THE GYPTIANS OF THE WATER, THE BEARS OF THE ICE. But the Gyptians are just. People with boats. In this magical world we've got witches, talking bears, and...the Romani?
