Wintering by Katherine May came into my life while I was contemplating the concept of winter as a feeling rather than a season. I felt like life had frozen in 2023 for me, even though I had a drive to move forward I was forced to sit and take stock for the full year. I fully immersed myself in my solitude, learning, and self care, and to fully button up the year I found this book and read it - validating this new concept I had thought was unique to me. It was comforting knowing others have wintered as well.

I can say now confidentiality that I am glad to have wintered, and I am ready for spring.
