I just realized what the term "country mile" comes from. I understood it meant longer than a normal mile but it never clicked that it's because a mile in the country would be considered boring. "Time flies when you're having fun" yeah? But it slows down when you're not which means, while traveling, it feels like the distance is greater. I guess it's referring to the flatter, more blank country roads like when you imagine Idaho.

i don’t get why people want the ao3 character tag names changed (like instead of it being “charles | grian” it’s just “grian”) like that would be a HUGE amount of work for the tag wranglers to change the name of pretty much every persons tag, for what? not seeing someone’s real name? it’s not like they are doxxing anyone it’s public info what their names are and for people like Etho who’s names ARENT public there it’s just “Etho”

And you can not use the real names if you don’t want to! The tags “Grian & Mumbo” and “Charles | Grian & Oliver | Mumbo” are both synced up! Just use those if you are so upset about the tag names!

Same goes for things like “[Character] (Video blogging RPF)” IT WOULD BE SO MUCH WORK TO CHANGE THEM ALL JUST USE THE SYNCED TAGS

I can’t stand sibling headcanons on the hermitcraft server minus skyblings a bit due to Pearl stating in the past that she didn’t want to be shipped with Grian (and at point being shipped in general cause people saw a woman being friends with a man and immediately speculated their relationship)

Like I’m seeing headcanons mostly with Gem that she’s siblings with Grian and Etho and most recently a non-hermit aka Jimmy solidarity. Hell I even saw some people call convex brotherly like. I don’t know why these headcanons are popping up but they’re becoming annoying.

You know that they don’t have to be siblings right? Like when two people prank or fight that “omg they’re so sibling coded!” it’s kind of eh?

At least skybling fanon has evo to support them.

Maybe I should spin a wheel and make a random duo siblings, maybe that’ll give me a laugh.

I haven’t seen anything making Gem and Grian siblings (posts saying they have a sibling like relationship? Sure but only with the snails, fics of them being siblings who grew up with each other? Never seen, do they even exist??) but if ya’ll are gonna complain about people doing that, draw them making out, write them being freaky and spooky, post headcanons of them that’s not sibling related.

Like I said, I haven’t seen anyone say they are siblings so I’m convinced that these people have made it up in their minds and are trying to gaslight hermitblr to not write them with this headcanon.

this is a very small grievance but it’s something that annoys me simply because i’m a huge fan of the game dredge, and that is: the purple fish at gem’s lighthouse is not just a purple version of the gold fish, it’s meant to be similar to the aberrated fish in the game dredge! those fish are almost alien in their appearances, and exist because there is something evil corrupting them!

i assume most people just don’t know about this, but i’m sure that if they did, it’d make gem’s base even more interesting as it implies there is something that is affecting the waters around magical mountain!

I miss the old fandom so fucking bad bro. The main tag was not so overrun with hermitshipping because most people were reasonably uncomfortable with it. Must have been the rise of other SMPs that actually are story and roleplay driven that made people think hermitcraft was the same. Now everyone seems to have convinced themselves the hermits are only characters to be played with and the dehumanization is deeply unsettling. Does nobody else find it disturbing how common theres comments like "I forget these are 30 and 40 year olds with degrees and families"? But of course people will make any justification they need to keep up their own fun. People will also read this and think I just need to step out and thats fine, I've already found the broader fandom uninhabitable for ages. I just wish that maybe one day people would take their own step back and think a little harder about how they treat hermitcraft and the hermits.

Like gay rarepair: harder to find people to share it with, but you can admit you like it and try to convince people

Like straight rarepair: I feel like I've broken with my roots. Very few people see it and now straight songs with 'he' and 'she' fit. Do I just like it because they're a guy and a gal who are friends? No, I rarely ever ship F/M. I don't ship based on gender. I actually have a full reasoning for it. But what if I'm stripping the female character's identity by linking her to a male character? Am I making it all about the male character? Am I putting expectations to conform to a straight society? I'm not even straight nor see the characters as such! It'd be much easier if I shipped her with the gal everyone ships her with so I wouldn't be overthinking it even a fraction of this. I'm going insane over a rarepair of a man and a woman and it feels wrong.

Every so often when I vaguely hint at shipping them, I feel like I'm doing something wrong ;A; I wouldn't feel this way were the ship well-known or some form of slash.

Anyway, thank you anon who said they want to see MORE F/M. Making me feel less guilty.
