I know there's not many of you following here but for those of you who are, I'm sorry I disappeared for so long, life has been extremely overwhelming lately. I have updates and they're not very good. Still trying to wrap my head around what has happened. This isn't even an emergency anymore, this is genuinely life or death. Chris was attacked by another homeless man and was nearly killed. I don't even know what to say, this still doesn't feel real. He lost all of his front teeth and his nose was broken. I'll make another post when I feel a little more coherent and stable. I'm still reeling over all of this.

Hey guys, I'm getting desperate. Keep reading to help a homeless disabled dad -

I'm getting pretty desperate. Our gofundme is at $50/$3,000, our wishlist hasn't been touched, none of our posts have gained any traction. My pinned post has all the details of our situation, but the rundown is one of my closest friends Chris became homeless a few months ago, he's chronically ill, disabled and can barely function on his own and now he's living in a car that barely runs. He can't clean up, do first aid on cuts and scrapes, make food, he barely sleeps because it's so uncomfortable, there's no heat or AC, the wiring to the locks is faulty so some of his doors don't lock, the car is unsafe to be on the road, but we can't afford anything better right now. We desperately need funds to get him a van that we can convert to a real living space. If you can't donate, PLEASE reblog, this situation was dire to begin with and it keeps getting worse and worse. Tell your friends, share our links, anything. I'm begging at this point.

Chris is ok! Luckily he didn't get very sick, thank god. However this heat wave is a wonderful new threat. No new donations and pretty much no interaction in the past few days. A boost would be greatly, greatly appreciated ❤️

UPDATE 7/18

So, we were going to have Chris come over again this week but we just found out today that he has covid. This doesn't exactly have any bearing on the current situation but I'm kind of terrified now because he's at high risk of complications, and he's completely alone right now with no access to basic sick-time necessities. I'm crossing my fingers everything ends up okay.

We found a Dodge van in good shape on Facebook marketplace for $1100 that I'm planning to look at this weekend. The gofundme is still at $50/$3,000 and we don't have the funds to purchase anything yet, but I'm crossing my fingers and putting what I can of my own paycheck aside. My posts haven't really gained any traction anywhere but I'll still be here, trying.

I'm not a religious person, and I know a lot of the people reading this probably aren't either, but if you could just keep Chris in your thoughts right now and wish him an easy and speedy recovery it would mean a lot. Thanks ❤️❤️

UPDATE:

I got to spend the day with Chris this past Tuesday! It was nice and I finally got to get him a blanket, some pillows and some new (thrifted 😅) clothes, and he got all of his things washed and was able to shower and clean up. I got him a few meals while he was here and gave him some nonperishables too.

Bad part:

Car is absolutely falling apart.

The biggest concern, and the thing I can't get a picture of, is the front left ball joint. It's worn out almost to its breaking point. If that fails while driving it'll essentially cause the wheel to detach from the car. At any decent speed this will almost certainly cause total loss of control to the car and cause an accident. At a high speed the car might flip or spin out uncontrollably and cause a fatal accident. This car could potentially harm not only Chris but others if something isn't done soon. This whole situation seems to go from bad to worse every week.

We are looking at a few vans locally this weekend. We obviously don't have the funds to buy anything yet, but I'm holding out hope. Thank you! ❤️
