All of this is so fucking wrong! The lawsuit was never against Amber Heard and he never admitted to abusing her and none of this is how this went. The Sun can't be held liable due to the fact that defamation
MUST BE PROVEN TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE STATEMENT WAS FALSE
The Sun was not present in their marriage and took Amber Heard at her word. It was not found that Depp abused Heard, it was found that the Sun could not be held liable due to them taking Heard in good faith that SHE wasn't lying
Amber Heard was not a party in this lawsuit, merely a witness.
BECAUSE AMBER HEARD WAS NOT A PARTY AND ONLY A WITNESS, DEPP HAD NO LEGAL GROUNDS TO DISPROVE OR ARGUE AGAINST HER TESTIMONY AND THUS HER VERSION OF EVENTS WAS UNABLE TO BE CHALLENGED IN THE COURT PROPERLY
And none of that even touches on how the Judge has a family member working for The Sun, how hypocritical his opinions are in which he devalued everything Depp testified and basically ignored it on the grounds of him being on drugs and an alcoholic DESPITE AMBER HEARD ALSO BEING ON DRUGS AND AN ALCOHOLIC. But yeah, this whole post should be deleted. It shows how no one understands shit or tries to understand.
Pretty much every lawyer on and off YouTube anticipated Heard winning the Virginia case because MOST PEOPLE BELIEVED HER. Most lawyers believed her going into this trial. No one thought Depp stood a chance. The fact he won has everything to do with the fact Heard is a MELODRAMATIC LIAR.
Also, our daily reminder that Johnny Depp settled to not pursue her for the 8 million he was legally owed because he wasn’t out to ruin her life. Amber Heard was shown to have attempted to extort him during and after their divorce, but sure, the man who left 7.6 million dollars on the table is obviously the one out for blood.
Not the woman who said she donated to charity and then never did, pretty much lied about everything. Like shit, you can go on YouTube and find clips of Amber Heard’s sister with BRUISES from AMBER. And they even say it is from Amber “kicking her ass”.
“Oh but if Amber abused her sister, why would her sister stand by her throughout the trial” Victim blaming now? Like all of a sudden victims of domestic violence don’t defend their abusers when it’s a family member? Like no one has ever supported or covered for their abuser in their life, even very publicly. Y’all ain’t DV survivors and it shows.

The way that man dropped that mic and looked at her before staring off into the middle distance as she interrupted him.
Just like, "Fine, fuck me then".
do you have the clip of Brandon saying Stolas was supposed to be a villain or antagonist originally? I'm curious about the surrounding discussion
Here it is!

This is hilarious, NGL. I'm just going to take a quote from Dan Olsen for this one:
"It's also [this person] saying [they don't] understand and [they don't] care to. [The content] is challenging and [they] just [don't] have any interest in engaging with it on its own term. [They have] become Comfortably Dumb." (Comfortably Doug 34:02-34:12)
If you think critical thought, the act of engaging with the media as an art and not just dumbly consuming it like an AI algorithm is boring, this is why people should be afraid of AI. If it just has to look nice and have no real depth of emotion, thought or motivation, then AI really will take over the artistic space. Because the only thing computers cannot fabricate is all of that pesky critical depth that comes from art.
Art is nothing but an aesthetic to you, which is why it's also your entire identity that gets attacked when your favorite personality gets picked apart and dissected. You can't stand the idea of being a whole person yourself, living behind a screen and as deep a person as a 2 inch puddle.
You lack depth as a human, you insist on not having any. Don't be mad when we exercise our brains and creativity at your expense.
If you call yourself or your account "[something] critical", please tell me, how does it feel to have such a boring personality that you resort to defining yourself by who your "enemy" is, instead of who you are?
(this is about vivziepop haters but somehow applies to terfs too)

Vivziepop wants you to see Charlie as a kind, caring person, but her actions say the opposite, making her appear selfish and horrible. In the show, we see:
-Charlie is an awful girlfriend to Vaggie, who runs the hotel for her since she’s too incapable of doing it herself. She doesn’t appreciate, defend, or support her, and she puts little work into their relationship and the hotel.
-Charlie learns about Angel being abused by Valentino but refuses to use her power to free him because she believes it’ll make her “mean and bossy.” She doesn’t even consider having her father and king of Hell, Lucifer, intervene if she doesn’t want to get her hands dirty.
-Charlie doesn’t have an issue with Alastor owning the souls of other demons and using them for his bidding, but does with Valentino owning Angel, whom she still hasn’t done anything about FIVE months later. She’s supposed to care heavily about Angel but is deliberately sitting on her hands.
-During the season finale, Charlie is cowering and apologizing to angels, who are trying to kill her and her citizens during a war. She barely fights despite Hell being heavily under attack and her citizens needing her help.
Charlie is supposed to be a nice character but is instead an annoying and inconsiderate woman-child who acts like she’s helpless and incapable of doing anything.

You cannot blame a consumer when the creator intentionally seeks to bypass mature content filters on the platform. Specifically YouTube. I remember being a kid in 2008 and having to borrow my brother's account to watch an episode of Code Geass because it had one 30 second scene with a bare chested woman. I could not access that episode because I was a minor, and yes I bypassed those precautions at 13, but that did not make them useless. It is the one thing that separates whether a creator is or isn't intentionally trying to appeal to kids. If they aren't, then the work of gaining access is shunted onto the consumer.
There isn't even that much on her Helluva Boss content.
Additionally, adding an audio announcement to the visual disclaimer of the episode could serve to alert guardians and parental figures to their child accessing mature content. "Oh but what if they have headphones?" It's not about that? It's about whether or not it COULD serve to keep kids safe. It doesn't matter if it doesn't work for every kid on the planet. It doesn't matter if the child lies or gets permission to watch the show. It is still an attempt being made to distance that responsibility from the creator onto the consumer.
Otherwise you still can and should be liable for not doing your part in keeping mature media away from kids.
Although I dislike Vivziepop and her shows, it’s wrong to blame her for parents' failure to monitor what their children are watching. She can't control children watching Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss because it’s not her responsibility; it’s the parents who should have put parental locks on their children’s accounts and devices.
You can criticize Vivziepop’s behavior, writing, and character designs, but you can’t criticize her for parents allowing their children to explore the internet and use streaming services without parental controls, allowing them to watch her shows, because that’s something far out of her control.

I think the biggest waste of Blitzo's character was taking away all his agency. It's something Viv does for all her characters to make them sympathetic, which is why her saying she likes characters with flaws is such a joke. They are either wannabe Disney villains (one note and not nearly as fun) or they are just victims of external forces.
Blitzo and Fizz being kept apart by someone else was an awful fucking idea. Period.
It would make more sense if Blitzo left Fizz by his own volition. He made that choice, but it wasn't easy and could still be sympathetic. Like, spoiling my own rewrite here, but I have it set up that Blitzo goes back for Fizz and drags him from the fire. Grabbing Fizz's outstretched, charred and skeletal hand, the embers of which burn Blitzo as the bones disintegrate in his grasp. Explaining the white scarring on his palms. And he pulls Fizz out of the burning tent before it collapses on them. Fizz being in shock and his throat burned from the smoke as he barely managed a grating whisper of "Don't leave me." Blitzo promises not to leave him and keeps begging Fizz to stay awake as the paramedics arrive.
At the hospital, Blitz gets patched up in the hallway because they don't have room for everyone and his injury is relatively minor. He sits outside of Fizz's room as he's in a medically induced coma and in such intensive care. One of the nurses gives Blitzo some change to go get something from the vending machine, take some space from the trauma.
Blitzo finds the vending machine but happens to see Barbie down the hall. He goes to approach her but pauses when a doctor does first and he can't hear what's being said, but the doctor just puts his hands in his pockets and shakes his head. Barbie covers her mouth as she starts crying. The doctor gets pulled away and Barbie is left in the hall. Blitzo wants to go comfort her, but he feels stiff. Barbie collapses on the ground, sobbing into her hands. Blitzo hears her cry for their mother.
And Blitzo realizes their mother is dead.
And Blitzo realizes it's his fault.
And he forgets the candy bar he left in the vending machine and wanders back to Fizz's room. The doctor from before and the whole team inside. The long wail of a flat lined heart monitor drowning out the commotion as the nurse who gave him the money makes eye contact before pulling shut the blinds.
And Blitzo just keeps walking. He killed his mom. He killed Fizz. It would be better if he just disappeared.
And he runs away.
You could still keep the idea of someone keeping them apart too if you wanna. Like Blitzo hears an advertisement for Fizzarolli's robots and he finds out that way that Fizz somehow survived. He tries to meet with Fizz, to apologize and reconnect, but someone blocks his way.
But the story as presented, even with all the information between the flashback and Blitzo and Fizz being like "Someone said you never came/didn't wanna see me" was so dumb.
And I think Barbie should be looped into that story more. They should have been a trip but we never see Barbie. The show does her so dirty. Like having Barbie tell Fizz that Blitzo just abandoned them both when in the hospital. Blitzo thinks Fizz is dead and that Barbie would never want to see him again, but it's Blitzo's internal false belief as to why he leaves them. It's the asshole thing to do, but he thinks that being gone is the best thing for everyone. It's also cowardly, which is a trait Blitzo has portrayed. He's projecting his own fear of having to face the consequences of the situation with everyone hating him.
Like, I don't see why Vivienne is so allergic to letting her characters be human. Make bad decisions based on emotion. The emotional aspects of the show are never for the characters to react to or grow from, but solely for the audience to react to. It's a manipulative form of writing where nothing matters except the creator getting the vicarious pleasure of seeing the effect they have on others to make them feel or respond in a certain way. Every emotional scene can be broken down into Character does X and Audience feels Y. End the whole scene. No consequences, no internal exploration, no world building. Everything is for the sole purpose of manipulating an audience. And I think that's what I hate about it most of all.
This is canon now I’ve decided. And it makes the line “you were all I had left Fizz” make much more sense.
I have no idea where she’s going with the idea that someone came between them. Because whoever that person was, they got what they wanted and it just doesn’t matter anymore. Plus I hate seeing other characters dark pasts and history used as fuel for an “otp” They’ve both already been paired off to royals, why add the unsaid love, the attraction, the protectiveness and the unjust lies and separation. It’s almost setting them up for a love story we all know they don’t get. It would make sense if they were kept apart if some grander conspiracy was happening, pawing them off to royalty for money, and their feelings overcame it. But it isn’t. So now it’s just empty drama and as you said, removes agency.
Neither of them are even mad about being lied to, it’s bizarre. That honestly makes me mad. Yes fizz has a rich royal boyfriend now, he should still miss his imp family and want to see them, he should still mourn his past life even if he has a wealthy one now. Why’s he only looking for love and family from the highest racial hierarchy? And we never see him mourn his past. He probably had a stand in mom and dad. Someone fed fizz the idea that Blitzø, the person who protected him, wanted him gone, that he had it out for him, and was his lifelong enemy. An innocent character like fizz who tries to see good in people, even someone like mammon, wouldn’t just come up with that story alone. That means the past 15 years of his life’s direction, were based on a lie. He’s not upset by that? There needs to be some kind of big impact at some point in that story. Because thats just not misunderstanding, it’s conspiracy.
The scenes aren’t for growth but for reaction.
Extremely true. Moxxies constant inferiority complex being redeemed then reset is a good example. Loona being kind to Blitzø in Bees and taking care of him, being gentle, then never again. Also. Stolas getting stabbed is supposed to be a big deal. But it isn’t. He’s fine the next week. His two grand songs are also just what critics call “emotional farming” none of the themes about unrequited love, and ending a relationship land. You feel sad cause he’s sad but why doesn’t matter, don’t look into it, it’s just to make the big kiss more huge. Hell, the Truth Seekers entire symbolic sequence was scrapped with zero growth, and overshadowed by a kiss, returning to toxic habits. Blitzø is even shitty to moxie again right away. It was all just some eye candy for you to react to.
I also feel like your last paragraph really drives home what made the recent episodes emotional moments so off. It seems like fizz and Ozzie are the exact same at the start and at the end of the episode. Oz just gives him more compliments, and fizz caves and suddenly hates mammon. The themes of success, idolisation, class, and lost/found family are ditched for “awww cute kiss” or “cool song!”
The takeaway is: ‘I’m scared I’ll lose my relationship with my bf. But he’s rich so it’s ok I’ll still have the approval and security from King of Sin Oz instead of from King of Sin mammon. Also all the money mammon took from me? That’s fine too’ And he never puts an end to the abusive ‘pageant’ show either. Just let’s the others take the spotlight. It’s all spectacle and no growth, again.
As for Moxxie in Exes and Oohs, he is about to stand up to Crim but gets tasered and tied up. So there’s no growth, status quo returned, it’s just us saying “his line was cool” and his flashback to his mothers death is never spoken about, it’s just for the audience.

This is some cool characterization.

One way to easily fix a lot of Asmodeus’ writing problems and bad borderline yaoi tropes, and instead give him depth is that Fizz wasn’t really his first love ever, but the first love that reciprocated, and the first he could keep from leaving him
So many avenues here, from losing Sarah the mortal to her arranged husbands and then losing her again to heaven, to losing Lilith to Lucifer and having to see her face and their child everywhere…
Seems like two perfect opportunities to explain his reputation of resistance to romantic love
If not. If this is his first. Then he’s spent thousands of years shaming others for something that he never had or even tried to understand until now, then declaring his love despite all the torment he caused these other people, would piss them off. Not everyone is a shipper. Oz will have critics just like fizz has critics and his will probably be far worse.

I see a lot of anons commenting things like "oh i hope the leaks are false and the show is actually good!".
I dont, i hope they are real, and that the story gets way worse, that the show sucks and that it flops so bad that Vivzie is never given any other opportunity to work on the industry.
Because, if the show comes out to be good, there would be a LOT of consequences:
If its succesful, then Vivzie will get fame on the industry, not just on the internet, wich will lead to her being allowed to make more shows and proyects. With workers that she will abuse the exact same way with the indie ones, and this time it will be ever harder for the victims to speak out if its against someone who has an important place on the industry. Like i just know that the production of any proyect she is in charge of is a total nightmare for anyone who isnt her rich arrogant ass. Add to that the transphobia, her obbsession with being loved by anyone, the way she expressed to wanting to "destroy" people that she had conflict with, it will def get ugly.
The only good thing that could came out from Hazbin being good, is that it COULD make bigger companies want to support indie proyects from the internet, but i think there are a LOT more indie productions that deserves it than Hazbin.
Anyway, i dont care if Hazbin turns out to be the best show ever, i dont think this Transphobic childish bully with abuse allegations deserves to have her shit OC show to be succesful. I hope it gives negative numbers to the company and she gets kicked out and blacklisted.
High-fucking-five, Anon. My thoughts exactly, and I do mean exactly.

World building, Characters, and Plot. Oh My.
Everyone has a bit of a different approach to these things, however my plan of attack tends to focus on what the story is going to be. Before someone even starts drafting the ideas of what is going to happen beat by beat, we should know where the focus is going to be and commit to that. In serialized fiction, there is always the possibility of that to change, but that change should be organic and natural. When things change, the characters or their story, it can't be a sudden turn. It needs to be logical to the direction we are already going in, and it needs to happen when the time is appropriate.
You don't turn around and sail towards England when you are already heading to Hawaii. Additionally, if you were heading to Hawaii and decided to continue to England, you need to account for the extra time and work it'll take to get there.
Is the show about an underdog group of assassins carving out their business in Hell while growing closer as a found-family? Or is the story about starcrossed lovers of a prince and an assassin who are brought together by happenstance? Or is it about this one guy who is deeply complex with a tragic past and a warped sense of identity reaching self-actualization as his views of himself and his world are challenged?
The story itself could be all of these things, but only one can be the centripetal force. To balance multiple plot threads, the main story needs to be very firmly established like the black hole in the center of the Milky Way. Then like the solar systems in the arms, they can ride the gravitational force, while structures and stories that exist are independent and yet intrinsically reliant upon that center plot. Without a central focus everything would scatter and fall apart when put under even the slightest force, including its own trajectory.
My personal preference leans hard into character-driven stories, but in a particular way. The show is called Helluva Boss, so Blitz is obviously the gravitational center.
There's a reason why I bring up the concept of a galaxy, like the main story needs to be the most dense. Black holes are gravitational sinks in the fabric of the universe, they are infinitely dense. On the outskirts are the solar systems. Every solar system has its own gravitational pull in the form of a sun, and around those are the planets.
When people say "world building" they aren't joking. There are many ways to build a world, but this is mine. Each step of this concept is a character to me.
The best way to visualize is to simply make it visual, so here ya go.
Tumblr media
There are people who have a scenario premise and build from there, and that is never a wrong move. However, what makes the story isn't the premise, but the characters. This is why I focus more on character stratification, dynamics and arcs rather than just a scenario. The primary ring is for characters who directly affect the plot. Secondary characters influence the plot but work more directly to affect the characters, and tertiary characters influence the characters but work more as world building qualities.
I personally don't like trying to write out a Character's personality in any way. In my opinion, it results in characters feeling less nuanced and rigid, it lacks substance and just becomes a banal laundry list of descriptors that doesn't leave room for circumstance. Instead of trying to define a Character's personality, I focus instead on their history. Personality is a mixture of nature and nurture, so by focusing on the Character's past and upbringing, we can define the parental structures they grew up under and how that influenced the decisions and events of their life. It also says far more about their own image of themselves than any list could. By building a personality out of a story, it automatically fills the character with nuance, motivation and depth.
The plot dictates the angle of the characters, dictates the needs of the world building which then dictates the progression of the plot and it keeps going around.
In considering the plot, especially for a rewrite, it is best to isolate the primary characters of import. There absolutely are ways to have a large cast. Arcane is an excellent example of a series with a massive character-driven story and cast that balances all branches of the narrative through appropriate supporting characters and extensive world building. if the world feels lived in, the story has more room to spread out. The larger the cast, the more room needed.
In the case of Helluva Boss, this is a disaster situation. Granted not inherently, but in terms of a serialized fiction, yes it's a bit of a mess. There are too many minor characters who have nothing to do with the plot aside from showing up once or twice for the sake of conflict. So like a bonsai, this needs to be trimmed down a bit to the major players. There is always room for someone to come in later in the story, but in serialized fiction, they require that dedicated time to establish them in the story.
Tumblr media
For the plot, I'm focusing on Blitz as a character and how he grows and changes to be the focus. Going back to the galaxy analogy, this means he has to be the most fleshed out and well defined character at the very start before anything else. The densest part of the narrative.
Tumblr media
The primary characters are those characters that could feasibly have their own chapters and not break the bank so to speak. Their stories are both separate from, but integral to the goings on of the plot. The thing is, all these characters should be able to hold a story of their own, but the main plot may not always benefit from that style of writing. Primary characters have more leeway because things that happen separately to them, while being outside of the main plot, are more likely to influence how they interact with said plot.
There is also this idea that anything directly connected to the primary circle will have more influence than the items that have a secondary or third connection.
Tumblr media
Moxxie and Loona carry more weight as characters, despite being secondary, than Stella and Octavia. Moxxie and Loona will be more involved with the primary story of Blitz, but Stella and Octavia stay mostly relegated to interacting in Stolas' chapters. They don't have much influence, except through Stolas. However, Stolas, Barbie and Fizz have their own stories that tie into the plot, whereas side stories of Moxxie and Loona would be more about character exploration.
Tumblr media
And here are all the story concepts based on plot lines I have considered right now. There are more and it is left open to move things around and reorganize, but it's already complex from the start and tins out as we get further from the center. Now that doesn't mean the characters necessarily get less screen time or characterization. It just means they have less pressure to tie back to the primary story.
