jason wakes up first, slow and languid, blinking in the early morning light. there’s a small smile on his face as he turns over, staring at the boy beside him. the sunlight catches on his eyelashes and his fringe brushes over his eyebrows in the softest way and jason feels himself fall in love all over again.
leo’s eyelashes flutter open and his lips curve into a smile before he curls closer to jason. his skin is warm to touch— it always is, and jason loves it—and they lie there, curled against each other, nothing in the world but them and the sunlight filtering through the windows.
jason curls his hands against leo and brings it up towards their chests, smile growing at the feeling of the cool ring against warm skin. brow eyes stare into blue, electrifying and all consuming, fire and air meeting in one heated glance. ‘i love you’ leo taps and gods jason loves him he feels like he’s about to burst.
they’re finally here, and they’re finally safe. we made it, jason thinks and leo smiles as if he can hear jason’s thoughts and the silk blankets skate over their skin as they try to get closer to each other.

“Jason.”
Jason groaned. It was so warm. Something was shining on his face.
“Jason.”
It was the sun, the sun was on his face. Jason threw an arm over his boyfriend and hid his face in his chest to avoid it. Said chest started to shake with silent laughter.
“Jason, we have to get up.”
“Do we really have to,” Jason mumbled, and he sighed as Leo’s hand started carding through his hair.
“We do if we want to get breakfast on time. I thought you were supposed to be the responsible one,” Leo said, his words tickling Jason’s ear.
“Meh,” Jason replied lifting his head to squint at Leo. His boyfriend’s curls were haloed by the sun behind him, a spot of brightness in the otherwise drab Zeus cabin. A smile pulled at Leo’s lips, pulling Jason’s gaze as well.
“What’re you looking at?” Leo asked, leaning closer.
“Hm…” Jason pretended to think. Their noses were brushing. He brought his hand up to cup Leo’s face, running his thumb over Leo’s grease-free cheek. Leo swayed closer, and his eyes fluttered shut.
Just as their lips were about to touch, the door to the Jupiter cabin flew open.
It’s Piper. “Where have you guys been?”
Jason dropped his head on Leo’s shoulder.
“Well, before you came in, we were about to go to first base,” Leo said, “After that, I was aiming for a home run.”
“Oh my gods, too much information!” Piper yelled. Jason started laughing. Leo pressed his smile into Jason’s shoulder. “Anyways get up, we’re trying to play a prank on Percy.”
“Huh. Well, I guess that’s a good enough reason. I just need to find my pants.”
Piper slapped a hand over her eyes and shimmied her way out of the cabin, but not before saying, “You guys are disgusting.”
It took them a little while to get fully clothed again, mostly because Leo kept finding excuses to stay naked. Very… distracting excuses.
So distracting that Piper had to bang on the cabin door to remind them she was still waiting. Oh well.
