Staying Warm With You [A GyoTengu Fic]

Sorry for any grammar mistakes! This is my first every Demon Slayer fanfic so I hope you enjoy

It was a calm, frosty night outside the Infinity Castle as winter hung over the country of Japan. Puffy white snow acted like a blanket for the earth and barren trees who have long since shedded their leaves in wait for the following spring to arrive once more. The night loomed in the air but most demons were not active this night due to how cold it was, one of them being Hantengu, who holds the rank of Uppermoon 4 in the Twelve Kazuki. Hantengu was currently shuddering and shaking a bit due to the cold as he crawled around the fortress, due to being so frail and thin his body gets cold very easily. The Infinity Castle’s interior provided some warmth for the dark haired demon but not enough to be fully warm.

As he went through the castle though he noticed a familiar jade pot resting on a platform and approached it, as he got close to it he slowly reached out his shaky, almost skeletal hand to it and gently brushed his finger against the smooth surface. Upon his fingers grazing its surface it shook before a echoed laugh could be heard as several small hands with purple painted nails took hold of the rim of the pot before the demon floated into the air as their many arms swayed. It was Gyokko who occupied the rank of Uppermoon 5. Gyokko would look down at Hantengu “ Oooh why hello Han- “ He began to say before noticing the smaller demon before him shaking and shivering a bit which caught his eye. He knows that Hantengu is a naturally timid and sheepish guy who seems to be consistently in fear, but this was different from him shaking in fear though, he’s known and has been in a relationship with him for almost a century. A worried look spread across Gyokko’s face as he flouted closer to him before finally asking “ ...Hantengu dear are you alright?... “ as he gently placed a hand on Hantengu’s shoulder, he could feel how cold his frail partner was.

Both of his green lips formed into a small frown and slowly wrapped his multiple limbs around him “ You're cold again aren't you? This past month has been quite chilly… “ he said, hantengu would wrap his frail, almost skeletal arms around Gyokko trying to get at least a little bit of warmth as he finally spoke up “ Sorry Gyokko I didn't come to you sooner because I thought I would just be a bother... “. Hearing his lover’s response Gyokko would quietly take hold of Hantengu and using his abilities would bring Hantengu into the pot with him. Hantengu would squeak a little in surprise as they went inside Gyokko’s pot but calmed down as Gyokko wrapped his several arms around him and pulled him close. “ I know my pot isn’t the most practical of places but I hope you don’t mind it “ he spoke as he held him in his arms, he would rest his head against his ( or at least tries to- ) and would float in the emptiness of his pot while holding hantengu. Hantengu would blush faintly at this feeling his lover's arms wrapped around him, despite the pot being almost completely pitch black there is a soft yellowish orange light beaming in through the vase’s opening providing just enough light to be able to see each other.

Hantengu closed his eyes letting out a quiet huff being comfortable in Gyokko’s arms, it felt so....warm and comforting for him, it felt nice. Gyokko hummed quietly as he held hantengu close, giving his frail lover some warmth as they sat inside the pot together. As he sat with him he would quietly cuddle with him as he closed his eyes “ Do you feel any warmer dear? “ Gyokko asked, cupping Hantengu’s cheek with one of his many hands, seeing his lover start to blush more at his touch when he opened his eyes to look down at him. Both of his mouths grin as he looks down at his frail lover, he always loved seeing Hantengu blushing, he found it cute how flustered he can get even when he only gives him a kiss on the forehead. Hantengu would look up at him timidly before looking off to the side embarrassed “ Y-Yeah I feel warmer now…” he responded, he felt warm but now he was also feeling sleepy. His red eyes slowly closed as he rested his head back down against the pot demon’s chest yawning softly, eventually his eyes were too heavy to keep open so he closed them finally and cuddled into Gyokko more.

Looking down Gyokko started slowly stroking Hantengu’s hair, running his fingers through his lover’s dark shoulder-length wavy hair as he watched him start to slowly fall asleep. “ Sleep well Hantengu “ He whispered, watching as his lover finally falled asleep. Gyokko watched Hantengu sleep, admiring every detail of his features. As he gazed upon them, he couldn't help but think of how lucky he was to find someone like him. Someone who loved him unconditionally, no matter what happened. The two have been together decades, as Gyokko watched Hantengu as he slept he hummed thinking back on something “ It felt like it was just yesterday when I proposed to you…years go by so quickly it’s hard to keep track… “ he spoke leaning down to kiss his forehead with both pairs of lips. Yawning himself he leans back against the side of the pot and closes his eyes.

Eventually he fell asleep as well…laying inside the pot with hantengu sleeping and cuddling with each other on a cold day.

~Karaku Headcanon~

A headcanon where Karaku enjoys a particular type of instrument and how he plays with them

✧[Headcanon Below The Cut]✧

Being a troublemaker and childish he likes messing around but he likes playing wind instruments. Things like the Hocchiku and other wind based instruments. He can play then really well actually and seems to be a natural at it though when he wants to goof around his favorite thing to do is to tie several [ I'm talking at least 20 or thirty ] to a tree and swing his fatsia leaf-shaped Uchiwa to release his powerful wind based demon blood art.

The powerful demonic made winds would pass through the wind instruments he attached to the tree. Causing the most awful, loud, ear piercing noise to come out of them which you can hear from miles upon miles away. If you were too close in the immediate radius when this occurs you could suffer some pretty bad damage to your hearing and potentially experience hearing loss. Animals would be running around and scurrying away.

When Karaku does this he would be having so much fun but the clones would quickly find out what he's doing because of the loud noises he is making with those wind instruments and his weapon. Although he gets scolded a lot by Sekido for doing this, he considers it worth it. He usually gets the wind instruments from the people he and the other clones kill and usually keeps any kind of wind instrument the victim might have. He has a lot because whenever he uses his fan to make that noise with them it tends to break them so the instruments constantly have to be replaced

~Muzan Kibutsuji Headcanon~

A headcanon about how Muzan Kibutsuji found a way to drink tea despite being a demon

✧[Headcanon Below The Cut]✧

Demons can only eat and survive on human flesh and drink the blood of humans to survive. This is because after becoming a demon they are unable to consume human foods and such. If they did try, their bodies would reject it and force them to spit it back out. Despite this however the King of Demons, Muzan Kibutsuji, can drink tea because he found a way to be able to consume it without his body rejecting it.

 This is because over the 1000 or so years he's been alive he managed to find a way to consume tea by either infusing it with blood or mixing blood into the tea and modify his body to be able to eat certain foods. Besides tea though he just eats humans and absorbs demons he thinks could help him conquer the sun [ which is still currently unsuccessful ]. You see even though he's able to technically eat certain foods without his body rejecting it he still prefers eating humans because it's just something he's used to eating for so long. So don't think just because he can drink and eat certain foods he won't eat you, because he would if he wants to.

cute idea my friend and i came up with that i think you'd appreciate gyokko has a pot just for tiny hantengu thats full of blankets to keep him comfortable/warm while the clones fight

That is such a cute little idea! (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

Minitengu would be in his little pot so he can stay safe and warm while the Hantengu clones and Gyokko fight demon slayers.

I see it happening in a mission where minitengu comes up and his immediate instinct is to hide so he would quickly run to Gyokko who would put him in the special pot before putting it somewhere safe before going back to fight the enemies. After the fight he would go back to the pot and gently pick it up before telling Minitengu he can come out and would have him crawl back out onto his shoulder or something

~Gyokko Headcanon~

A little headcanon on how Uppermoon 5 Gyokko makes pots for those he is close to and gives it to them + GyoTengu [ Gyokko x Hantengu ] where we see how Hantengu feels about getting pots from him

Gyokko is known for his pottery and views each and every one of his pots as a masterpiece. He doesn't give his work to just anyone, he wants to make sure the ones who get his special pots appreciate them, he does spend hours or even days making each and every pot. That's why he only gives pots to those closest to him so if you were to get one of them consider yourself very lucky!

For those close to him he would craft the pots with special patterns to fit the person he was giving the pot to. That way each pot/vase is special and unique for the people who get them! He has never made a pot for a human before because he feels they can not appreciate his work so if anything he's only really made and given pots to those who are a part of the Uppermoons or Lord Muzan.

Bonus bit for GyoTengu-

Hantengu seems to get a lot more pots from Gyokko than anyone else, he keeps every pot given to him by Gyokko in his room. He likes them, he really does, but he gets super flustered whenever Gyokko gives him one of his hand crafted vases. He would be holding the vase flustered while Gyokko swirls around him happily while talking to him about how he gave him his ' best pottery piece ' yet while looking super proud of making it. So far Hantengu has about 10 pots, all in various shapes and sizes, that Gyokko gave him and he appreciates them and keeps them displayed in his room.
