Moon, Sun and the Nighthawk
In ancient times, the sun and the moon were human beings, and they had a common wife named "Ohul". The sun's body is warm, the moon's body is cold, so Ohul prefers to hug the sun rather than hug the moon. The sun always taunts the moon about this, and the moon is very unhappy.
One day the moon couldn't bear it anymore. He blew on the sun, and the sun was hidden by a thick black fog. Then the moon climbed up into the sky along a vine.
In doing so, Ohul lost two husbands. She then took a basket of clay and climbed up along the vine, trying to win back the moon's heart. But the moon cut the vine. Ohul fell from the sky and became a nighthawk.
Since then, whenever the moon rises in the night sky, the nighthawk will always make a cry, and the sound is Ohul asking her husband to come back to her side. The basket of clay Ohoole had taken with her when she went up to heaven was also scattered on the ground as she fell. The women used the soil to make pottery in honor of Ohu.
Then the sun climbed into the sky along another vine. He wanted to make peace with the moon, but the moon could not forget the humiliation the sun had inflicted on him and always avoided the sun.
