Out of the Calcian royal siblings, Vanteri is the only one with a different father. Vanteri’s birth father is from Ialdze Nil, the country created by the God of Knowledge. The people of Ialdze Nil can read the minds of those they’re familiar with. As such, the queen of Calcia had devious intentions for her telepathic child, but after the assassination of the Lysithean royal family her plans dissolved. Vanteri and his younger brother, Zatheel, were cast aside and ignored after this. They became very attached to one another and Vanteri stopped speaking vocally for the most part, preferring to speak to Zatheel telepathically and let him do all the talking for both of them. Vanteri is one of my favorite characters because he makes up half of my favorite couple, the other half being Keller. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon! I am so far behind posting my art that I’m posting stuff from May of last year )_) woops. Well here’s a lovely little drawing of the Crafting God from my story/webcomic.
Carver is the God of the Arts, they oversee all trades and crafts from woodworking to baking, architecture to horticulture. After Neve (Frost God) inspired the mortals to build temples to the culinary arts, more spirits were needed to attend to that energy generated. One of the spirits who took a great liking to the role was Carver. Carver was a hearth spirit working for the fire god, Basker, to attend to these temples. Eventually there was enough essentia to warrant the assignment of a god. Thus, Carver was granted the abilities over all arts. After they were appointed, a renaissance began and many great artists were born. With the temperament of a cinnamon roll, Carver just wanted to make art and cook food all day and hated seeing the other gods fight. During the war of the gods mortals started praying in their temples to bless them with creativity to build better weapons, but Carver refused to help them. Sirens were originally created by the love gods to act as companions to the Guardian of the Order Door, Nylori. Three sirens were originally created, each with powerful love magic expressed via singing and performing. Nylori, however, was inconsolable and no matter how much the sirens tried she would not smile. Eventually, two of them left and started families of their own. This gave rise to the race of sirens. While the first three did not age, they could die of other causes. Mages eventually learned that a siren’s magic could be taken and used to make love potions, and while the practice is illegal now there are few sirens left in the world. Of the three sisters, Adeline is the only one left, but descendants can be found scattered about. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon! Incantare is the God of Magic. She was created by a mage to act as their servant until they died. She then began wandering the world learning any magic she could. She happened upon a stranger in her travels. They told her they were the god of this dimension, but that they had failed their task and the price was destruction. She asked if she could help, and the god pulled their soul from their chest and gave it to her, transferring their abilities. They then unravelled into loose yarn before vanishing. Terribly confused, Incantare went on with her travels until she noticed items around her began to unravel as the god had. This continued until no people existed, and then no animals existed, and no plants. The world was completely silent. Once everything was gone, a voice called out from seemingly all directions. “So he shirked his responsibilities onto you, huh? What a loser. Well, come on then, let’s get you started with your own dimension. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon! You can also follow me on Tumblr, Instagram, and TikTok!

Calica is the youngest son of the Calcian royal family. As his mother has a vendetta against the Lysithean royal family, he and all of his brothers were trained to be assassins. As children, all of the brothers were cursed with the ability to die eight times and come back to life. The ninth time they die though, they stay dead. Each time they die they feel all of the pain of it, and they also lose a piece of their soul making their magic weaker. In addition, this curse gave them each the ability to shift into the form of a cat, which was an easy way to slip in and out of places undetected. In the story, his brothers have been successful in killing all but one member of the Lysithean family, and Calica just so happens to be the one to find the last one. If you haven’t seen it already, check out my webcomic on Webtoon or Tapastic!

Saga is the God of Knowledge and Stories. Before she was a god, she was a scribe in the Eternal Archive, diligently recording the rise and fall of universes she was assigned. One day, a weaver tore its way into the archive. Many of the other scribes fled but Saga stayed to prevent the weaver from eating the records. She held it off long enough for Altiora to arrive and stop it. As a reward, Altiora offered her one wish. After eons of writing about worlds she would never see, she resolved to become a god and try to create a world herself. She had written how hundreds failed, and thought she could do better. In the current pantheon, She gave the world curiosity and writing. She helped to populate a small continent with a telepathic race of people, and her temples were some of the largest collections of books in the world. Raura is the God of Cruelty. Before she became a god, she was born in a universe where every sentient being had a number somewhere on their body representing how good or bad they were. Growing up, she was raised to be a Balance Keeper and kept her number at 0. However, she began questioning her beliefs. What would happen if someone were to go really low? She began trying to tank her number, hurting people, turning people against each other. She convinced others that negative numbers were freeing and the Positives were just trying to control them. Wars broke out and the negatives blamed the positives for taking away their freedoms and the positives blamed the negatives for taking away their safety. Mercy, the god of the universe, grew stronger off of the chaos Raura caused but hated to see all of the suffering. One day, as multiple countries tore each other apart, Raura was found dead. Mercy and Ione are the Gods of Mercy and Vengeance. Long ago, Mercy had created his own world. A universe in which every sentient being had a number displayed somewhere on their body. This number represented how good a person was, and for every well intentioned action, the number went up. For every action intended to harm, it went down. This incentivized the people to be good, and it worked. However, Mercy draws his power from pain and suffering, which he can absorb and relieve. Thus, he grew weak and unable to protect his dimension. He prompted the people to build Temples of Balance, where the workers must maintain their numbers at zero. Ione was one of the first of these, and was the epitome of ‘an eye for an eye’. After her death, Mercy made her into a Spirit of Balance, and for a while things were… alright… That is, until someone asked just how low a number can go. Enaia is the God of Souls. The ability to create souls is exceedingly rare, as it requires an innate level of understanding and excessive time to master. As a child, Enaia’s universe was being recycled, eaten by Altiora, the ‘god of gods’. Altiora stopped, sensing Enaia’s innate skill, and snatched her up out of the universe. Enaia was terrified of Altiora at first, but eventually was won over with displays of grandeur. Altiora began teaching Enaia to create souls, and gave her access to the Eternal Archive where records of every universe made under Altiora’s system were housed. One day, Altiora was complaining about a newcomer to her system, a chaos god with six arms. Enaia was intrigued that someone so new could bother the God of Gods. The pantheon started with a handful of primary gods all with broad areas of control. As the world they created grew more gods were brought on to help with niche tasks. However, the War of the Gods interrupted that and unfortunately there were never any gods of the sun, stars, or moon specifically. Basker, the Fire God, also served as the keeper of stars and the sun. He was also one of the gods with a direct hand in the fall of the pantheon. After Order killed Mercy, Vengeance propositioned Basker to help her destroy Order. Basker, already upset at Order for separating him from his love, gladly accepted. Having killed a god before, Basker knew they had to weaken her. So he proceeded to start burning the world and causing wars and starvation. This balanced the pantheon’s powers towards Chaos and undercut Order’s abilities. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon or commissioning me! Neve the God of Frost, used to be feared as her magic typically spelled the beginning of hardship. For a long time she was thought of primarily as the god of winter. However, this view made it difficult to obtain mana as people would not worship a god who brought them cold and starvation. She devised a plan to make herself more appealing to worshippers. First, she created a race of glacial faeries, who could easily present frost magic to other races and create refined frost essence. Second, she prompted these faeries to teach the humans about food preservation. Lastly, she bestowed the gift of ice cream upon humans via a prophetic dream to the Calcian head chef of the royal court. Since then food related magic has grown and temples have been built to the culinary arts worshipping Neve and Basker, the gods of Frost and Fire. Saynna Lysith is the only living descendant of the God of Death and heir to the Lysithean throne. On the night of the party celebrating her birth, two princes from the Calcian Kingdom snuck in and assassinated her parents and two older siblings. According to reports, one of the princes had brought a terrifying monster with him and attempted to kidnap the newborn princess, but failed thanks to the heroic intervention of her uncle and a family friend, Valeth Veziris. Her uncle lost his life, and Valeth was permanently scarred, but Saynna was safe. It was decided by the Lysithean noble council that Saynna would be hidden until it was deemed safe enough for her to begin attending the Royal Necromancer’s Academy, and Valeth would act as regent until she could take the throne. Valeth was a prince of Arana, and his brother was king of Calcia. The hope was that having him as regent would ease tensions between the countries, but many believed this was a conspiracy within the Aranian royal family to create an empire. Male version of the love gods, who can change their forms whenever. Irisa and Koirin have been sweethearts for a very long time, and hate to be apart. As two gods of the same purpose, they share a source of mana and thus must be a bit more careful with what they spend. Luckily, it’s easy to get people to believe in gods of love. Irisa and Koirin even created sirens in the mortal world, a race of magic users who access many kinds of magic through singing and derive their mana from the attention they receive from others. After the War of the Gods, love was one of the rarest forms of magic to possess unless you were a siren, thus they were hunted for their mana which was used in potions. It was then made illegal to make or sell love potions unless done by a siren or obtained from a licensed vendor. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon or commissioning me! I was debating not posting this one because it didn't fit as nicely into a static format compared to the video version, but for continuity's sake, here you are. I've mentioned weavers a few times in my other story posts and here's an explanation. Weavers are the beings which weave and break down the fabric of reality to create and destroy organized structures. Weavers can change their appearance at will though, so you probably wouldn’t recognize them if you saw one. Gods get their powers to create realities from weavers, either by killing them or receiving it as a gift. Gods can also steal this power from other gods. Contrived beings, those created in organized universes, are more adept at creating complex realities than weavers, but weavers gain significant power from eating gods and the things they make. Weavers typically live in the void, which is the empty space outside of realities. Realities are usually made up of multiple layers, the outer layer being the divine realm so gods can defend their creations against hungry invading weavers. I was having a really hard time coming up with a name for the God of Time in my story, and I was struggling with it. I decided that I wanted to name her after an hourglass or something related. So I googled hourglass in different languages. I saw a few languages called it something like clessidra or clepsydris. Curious, I looked up the etymology of the word and it turns out it comes from the word clepsydra which is made up of the Greek roots klepto and hydra and essentially means water thief. It turns out a clepsydra is a timepiece which used to keep time by dripping water like an hourglass. If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon or commissioning me! Clepsydra is the God of Time and Prophecies. She has three pairs of eyes, one sees the present, one sees the past, and one sees different possible futures. She has been kicked out of multiple pantheons because while she is very skilled at what she does, she has a penchant for drama. As the only god who can typically see the future within a pantheon, and whose power works on the other gods as much as it does the mortal realm, she often leads pantheons down paths which are the most entertaining for her. She’ll seldom lead them to complete destruction, but that doesn’t mean things won’t go very awry. She fueled Order’s paranoia, convincing Order that Mercy was out to get them and needed to die, starting the War of the Gods.  If you enjoy my art please consider supporting me on Patreon or commissioning me!
