Last print run for my book Cute Claws 2, open for preorders, here!

As paper prices drastically changed since I launched the series, I'm faced with the obligation to change the way it will be printed in the future. But as I never warned people who may have wanted it in this specific way before it sold out, I'm doing a last print run with its original price!

True, I haven't yet posted the Mao mao, I'll do that soon (and I drew two versions of her, with different outfits!).

Actually these sketches are from a listing I did recently on my shop, which can be... roughly summed up as "pick a seasonal anime (that I watch) and I'll draw you a random character from it". I haven't advertised it yet because people found it by themselves. I had my plate full for pre-holidays orders haha (and I haven't posted them before, because people might have bought them as holidays presents).

But now I'm more free and the listing is still up if you're curious!

Have you ever considered doing an artbook? I loved your illustrations on Cute Claws and work in general and I got a feeling you can crowdfound it successfully (obviously easier said than done but your art is eyecandy lol). Anyhow I wish you good luck for your projects for 2024! >:D

I've already considered the artbook, yes, but I feel that I'm not productive enough for that ;; Especially with illustrations. I think I have more fun doing smaller books just centered around one precise idea or concept? I'm even tempted to go back to a very zine oriented way where there's less pressure, more mixed content and ideas. But hey, we'll see! (also paper is still absurdly expensive haha)

2023 Art summary is here!

Lot of time was spend into personal life so not the most productive, art-wise. But looking back, It's a year where I really enjoyed sketching with just pencil and paper! and forgetting to post that almost all the time

I've also shown my love for the color blue more. I've always been a bit bummed that people associate me with pink (surely because of my logo). Not a very serious problem, I know, but!!! More blue in 2024!

To conclude, I would say that persisting in art has been harsh lately. Doing just "pretty pictures" has been taken from us. Maybe going back to less formal art will be the way? I can't really know... But I want to try indulging more in 'ideas that just seem fun to do', more freely.

Yeah, sure! Let me see, here is what I mostly use: For digital art I love to draw with Clip Studio Paint, paired with Photoshop for touch-ups and preparing files for printing. My tablet is a Wacom Intuos Pro medium. I also have an Ipad pro with a CSP subscription, that I use sometimes.

For traditional art recently I'm mostly just sketching but my favorite brand of sketchbook is definitely Maruman! The pages are very thin so it's a good reminder that a sketchbook has to be used in a lighter way, it can't be perfect. I have different sizes!

Pencil-wise I like to use Kurutoga (it's a brand of mechanical pencils that automatically rotates the nib, so you go trough them more efficiently). Basic kneaded eraser. And for book signings I use Faber Castell Polychromos (they are very hummm... "soft"?) for a nice colored under-sketch paired with some fine nib permanent black marquer!
