this makes a bit more sense if you get the idea that part of the reason jazz has no canonical friend group for her age is because her parents are weird. but Danny doesn't have that problem because he has Tucker and Sam. and while I'm sure Jazz doesn't think Danny's friend's would abandon him. their nutty obsession with ghosts partly "ruining" her social life could honestly be a sore spot for her.
hell, she even takes the opportunity to set Danny up with an invitation to go to a popular football jock's party that she's not really interested in. but something Danny is interested in. Jazz is very smart and bookish and keeps to herself but it'd be a safe bet to assume there's tension with people thinking her parents are freaks and that affecting her.
Danny defends his parents a lot. but Jazz probably just retreated more into her academics while embarrassed.
I never gave much thought to it until now over how Jazz wants to protect Danny from their parent's ghost obsessions. It's probably due to having to grow up with it herself. Though what's funny though is that Danny doesn't seem to be bothered by his parent's obsessions with ghosts.
