status of this blog update
hiya! been quite some time here huh!! despite the inactivity, this blog manages to still get followers, notes and asks pretty often. i'm glad people have enjoyed the things i suggested here that much :]
this won't come as a surprise, but i thought it'd be nice to clarify anyway; this blog is inactive and will stay so for the indefinite future. i liked working on this, but i haven't been deeply entwined with kin things online in awhile, and have more important things to dedicate my time to nowadays. the support this blog has gotten warms my heart nonetheless, and the blog will stay up as an archive to what i did post too!
i will likely close the askbox entirely within the week. take this as my kind farewell, and thank you for enjoying the blog as it was. i hope you all take care.

:D so, idk if this is too terribly weird, but I’ve already got a game (riddle school) that gives me those good good kin feels, I’m wondering if you know of any other simple, brightly colored, unsettling (horror’s ok, just not jump scares, I’m a coward lol) school games? it’s my favorite kind of feelings and I’d love more games to choose from!
hello!! i don’t think that’s weird at all, i used to love those games! unfortunately though that’s a pretty niche genre, so i only have one that checks all the boxes!
the wanderings of a high school boy is a semi-aimless short adventure following a quiet boy as you try to uncover the story. its relatively short, but interesting and reminds me of riddle school stylistically! its free, and on windows. heads up, it downloads as an .rar so youll need something to extract it! (CW themes of bullying, depression, implied suicide)
i did think of a few that might have similar vibes/narrative voices though!!
i havent played a riddle school game in a long time, but iirc at one point you get kidnapped by aliens? so this is playing off that! sol traveler is a short little concept game about waking up on a spaceship and finding your way home. its a quick walking-simulator-esque game but i thought it was fun! it’s on windows, and free!
the endless express has you trying to catch a train home... but where is it? colorful simplistic visuals and fun dialog with the characters in the game make me think it’s something you might like! its exploration-focused mostly, though theres some interaction too! this game is free and on windows, mac and linux!
additionally, if you haven’t already you might have a good time checking out the other things riddle school’s creator has done! i haven’t played any of these, but his sites full of his work, maybe you’ll find something you haven’t seen!!

hello! it’s been a hot minute hasnt it!!
a lot has changed in my life since ive been absent! (i was gone for about a year, afterall..)
but i miss this blog! so here’s whats goin on! :3
the inbox has been completely wiped. i’m sorry for anyone who has been waiting all this time on a request fill, but it was just too overwhelming for me, and if i’m gonna be able to return to this blog i need a fresh start!
that said, requests are open again! send some in, and i’ll do my best to start using this blog again. please be sure to take a look at the faq and rules once again, as everything (including the theme!) has gotten an update.
bear in mind, i am an adult with a job that is often full-time, and when i’m not at work i have my own life + freelance art as a job aswell. updates and fills will be slow! but i will be trying my best to do this again. if the blog gains traction like it did before, i might return to the concept of bringing on another mod. for now though, this is all!

I realized this blog has been inactive for a few months. I really hope I don't come off as rude. But... Is this blog still active? also are you looking for mods?
you’re not rude at all! my apologies for the silence here.
this blog isn’t officially ‘dead’ in any way, as in i don’t want to shut it down formally, but i have struggled finding time to work on requests. recently i graduated, so life has been pretty busy!! (plus i have a few disorders that seriously affect how well i can remember stuff like this, so i end up forgetting about the blog entirely until something reminds me if i’m super busy ;v;)
that said, i really do wanna come back to doing stuff here! but i think requests will either have to be smaller fills, or like you mentioned, i will need to bring on other mods to help. seeing as it’s been 6+ months of quiet here, i think it may be time to formally consider that! theres 70-something requests in the inbox right now and i seriously don’t think i’ll be able to get through them alone without wiping the inbox entirely.
so! on that note! i’ll be making a post pretty soon asking for help on the blog. expect it, at worst, sometime within the next week! in the meantime i’ll be trying to push through a few requests myself.

i can think of a couple!!
aer: memories of old is an open world, exploration-heavy game with low poly graphics and an incredibly interesting story! you learn about the world through scrolls and parchment left behind as you explore, and i can personally highly recommend it! you only shift into a bird, but you can do so at will and i’m quite fond of it. it’s currently $14.99 on steam, but you can also find it on ps4 and xbox one!
the legend of zelda: twilight princess is kind of a popular game so recommending it may be silly, but i personally really love it and i wanted to offer a game for four-legged shifters too! the world falls into darkness and you’re forced to figure out how to fix it as a wolf turned against your will. it’s on gamecube, wii and wii u but i’m pretty sure you can emulate it for pc as well!! depending on which version you buy on console, brand new it runs $15-$35, but you could find it for less used!

fox flares is a cute little browser game about a spontaneously combusting fox. your job is to reach water within the time limit to cool down! it’s only in a game jam build for now, but worth checking out!!
pajuu is a game about a young fox and his mother. it has a very sweet soundtrack and wonderful art, though it may not be best for you if you don’t want some sad feelings. it’s on browser, as well as downloadable for mac, linux and windows!

hey!! i’m so sorry for the complete silence over here! life is rather hectic and i havent had much time to focus over on this blog. with that, i bring a little update! (also a few queued posts)
i’m going to be trying to get on a schedule of knocking out a few requests every week if i can, but i’m very forgetful and i can’t honestly say how well i’ll keep to that. i get stressed easily about if my recommendations are good enough and then i end up waiting longer because i dont want to disappoint!! it’s pretty silly!
but on that note, i’ve been considering bringing on someone new to help put out requests so there isn’t such huge bouts of silence in between! this isn’t an open call just yet, but if you’d be interested, keep this in mind while i work out how i want to do this!!

tiny worlds in flasks is a relaxing game about building little terrariums. reminds me of making spell bottles! it’s free on browser and windows!
florus is a procedurally generated game about a musical garden and the tunes you can make with it. it’s downloadable for windows!
morphe is another musical game that allows you to walk around a mountaintop, relaxing and making little tunes as you go. it’s free to download on mac, windows and linux!
i’d also like to recommend botany? which i covered a bit back!

scribblenauts and its many subsequent games are a personal favorite of mine! some of the games are wii u only, but a good portion of them are for ds and 3ds! it’s also currently only $4.99!
art academy is another favorite! it features plenty of lessons and freedraw features. there’s also a wide array of sequels, both in new iterations for 3ds and with franchise themes! i believe there is a pokemon and disney version. it’s also $4.99!

Do you think you'll be looking for more mods soon? even just to help find more games?
i’m not sure! it honestly is a lot to keep up with on my own, and i’d love to put out games more frequently, but none of my friends could take the spot right now and i’m not sure how i’d feel about bringing someone i don’t know on! it’s definitely a consideration, i don’t plan on going dark for two months again in between batches of request fills, but it’d certainly be nice to be more active.

oliver the inadvertant werewolf is a game focused on the less murdery parts of werewolf life! featuring some fun dialogue. it’s free to download on windows and mac!
don’t escape is a short flash game about barring yourself in well enough that your wolf form cant escape that night! it’s a fun play on those ‘escape the room’ games and has a series of sequels! it’s free on browser.

redum of sun is a game about archery in a bright low-poly world! it reminds me a lot about classic elves. it’s currently only a prototype, but it’s free and for windows!
halen: ballad of the blade thief is a free to play game focusing on combat and fluid movement! it looks very pretty and immersive. it’s free to download on windows and (shakily) mac!

cardamom is a musical game about a cat trying to help the tenants of a dysfunctional apartment! it’s only in alpha right now, but said alpha is free and the artstyle is precious! it’s for mac and windows!
my garbage cat wakes me up at 3 am every day is a short game about being a cat and knocking things over, as cats do. the goal is to wake up your owner before the sun rises! it’s free on browser!
catpocalypse now is a little game about directing a cat to destroy an apartment (i’m sensing a common theme in ftp cat games..)! it’s free on browser!

the raccoon who lost their shape is a little narrative game about contacting the dead and questionable geometry. its free to play in-browser or by download on itch.io! it’s for windows and mac! (it’s also made by filmcow, so theres interesting humor in it!)
meadow is a little mmo-like game where you can play as various forest creatures. sadly they don’t have raccoon yet, but they have many other animals that may be close! it’s $2.99 on steam, for windows.
i’m sorry, there’s a surprising lack of games centered on raccoons!! however i can also recommend following punchesbears as theyre developing a game called wreckoons that looks very fun!
