human phys revision at the library / yesterday's fit check
24 APRIL 2024 | 73/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
sorry for the mini hiatus! spring hit and i had to do some frolicking, but, unfortunately, it is lock-in season
had my last gender and health seminar today! talked about aging and menopause and how the health system will always pathologize women for simply living
got lunch with my usual wednesday crew! there was also a little farmer's market today, so i bought some apples and brussel sprouts
went to the library to study for my human physiology test next week (yikes omg i'm scared)
had my sociology lecture! fun stuff about how science never will be objective and is unfortunately (?) carried out by humans
had an interview for a program i'm applying for next year omg it was so scary but i tried my best!
went home and cooked brussel sprouts and pasta because self care
working on more human phys revision and also mcat revision

primary source work in seminar / locking in to draft my thesis
03 APRIL 2024 | 72/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
had a lazy morning in my pajamas finishing reading for my gender and health seminar while it was raining out
it continued raining which made walking around miserable
fun discussions in my seminar about childbirth stories and folk practices
i got an A on the paper i turned in last month for this class, and the prof emailed me beforehand to ask if she could use it as a model paper, which was so so exciting, i love academic validation
got tacos with a friend after class!
went to my sociology seminar and continued learning about genetic ancestry testing
went to the library to start working on my first draft of my capstone paper due next week
had two hours of dance rehearsal for my cultural show next weekend!

early morning readings / evening in the stacks
01 APRIL 2024 | 71/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
woke up at 5am this morning to finish the readings for a paper i had due at 5pm, and i gotta say that procrastination kicked my ass
finished the readings and started outlining my paper before my bio lab at noon
we did a renal function lab, which meant we had to pee in a cup every 30 minutes and test it, kind of a gross lab overall since it wasn't super sterile, and the whole room smelled like pee
went home after and finished my paper!
went to my sociology lecture, talking about genetic testing, which was super cool
had a dance practice for my cultural show in two weeks, finished choreographing and teaching the dance!
spent the rest of the night finishing readings for my seminars tomorrow

old philosophy readings / new sunset play
28 MARCH 2024 | 70/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
took my physio exam this morning,,, disappointed in myself because i know i could have done so much better if i had just started studying earlier, but alas, life moves on
attended my sociology recitation, and i'm so behind in the work for that class too, but i was able to participate in the discussion at least
had my research capstone as well! continuing with research presentations, and i love hearing about everyone else's work, there's so much cool stuff out there
my ballet company had a little watch party for our show so i went after class! what fun to just laugh and be a little silly, especially in a field that is so critical
holy thursday mass <3 (i fell asleep during the homily, which is to be expected when i pulled an all nighter, i suppose) i always love the music for the holy thursday mass, feeling so ready to go into this weekend
currently working on writing a piece i'm performing at my friend's coffeehouse tomorrow, recovering from a long and stressful week

primary source work in seminar / research proposal work
20 MARCH 2024 | 67/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
went to bed super late last night so woke up kind of late this morning, just in time to dress nice and make it to my gender in health seminar
fun discussion in my seminar about advertisements on women's hygiene and modern stories of shame around menstruation
had lunch with a couple of my friends who are also in the seminar!
got a bit of work done for my research proposal (due tomorrow eek i know i'm cramming)
went to my sociology lecture - i missed a class earlier this week and still haven't caught up, so i was a bit confused
went home and took a (much needed) nap
now working on completing my research proposal! presenting it to my cohort tomorrow please wish me luck <3

treating myself with a little grace today because, surprise surprise, the material for my cultural trauma class got a little too personal
went to my 8am physiology lecture in sweats and then came right back home lol
made a fried egg sandwich for lunch!
finished reading the first four books of aristotle's nichomachean ethics for ancient greek philosophy seminar
then went to my cultural trauma seminar which was helpful for my thesis but also very difficult; i think i might speak to my prof about it though i probably should have done that preemptively
went to my philosophy seminar, and i'm not a philosopher by any means but i'm just not invested in aristotle's argument? and the discussion in class made it worse because i just don't buy in to the idea that humans have a function, so i wasn't very participatory in class today
finished three problem sets for physio and worked on some stuff for the organization i volunteer for
working on readings for my gender health seminar tomorrow!
