Fuck this game. Fuck it. First I get hit with all the memories of these genuinely great people I absolutely hated at the beginning them came to love as I'm riding with my girl Liliana as the sun sets, silent streams pooling from my eyes.
Temporary relief seeing John's alive, then miss Grimshaw is fucking shot, more crying.
We escape, LILIANA IS FUCKING SHOT. This time it's full blown wretched sobbing as I thank my horse I've journeyed with for over 300 hours and experienced all my ups and downs with.
I'm STILL bawling as I climb the mountain with John, then Arthur just has to say we ain't both gonna make it and passes on his hat. Still crying.
I then get launched into a fight scene and blindly shoot motherfuckers through my tears.
Micah, this son of a bitch, jumps me and now I'm grappling with him while snot is still running down my nose.
Beat the shit out of him, just learned how to breathe again, Dutch shows up and all I can think is "papa doesn't love me anymore".
AND THEN I FIND A COZY SPOT. I lean against the rocks and watch as the damned sun rises.
That was the most exhaustive hour of my fucking life. I'm never recovering from this.

Good Traits Gone Bad
Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!

Well, I am in tears, and all because I found a true family where I was finally valued as me, and not my brother counterpart.
This section (Homeless) was so beautifully written, and despite having only met these characters in a singular chapter, they left a lasting impression that convinced me to stay with them till the very end.
We've of course got Stan, a middle aged man mourning his wife who willingly helped Jodie off the streets and shared what little he had. When later questioned by police of there are people who would miss us, his is the sole face brought to mind. Stan is the support we never had growing up, giving it all never expecting anything in return. He's the first person to make us feel like we mean something as an individual, and not for our capabilities.
Tuesday, birth name Elisa, is a sisterly figure that is open to discussion and so full of love to give. Upon discovering she was pregnant, her ex-boyfriend beat her and so she ran away, hoping to not only create a comfortable life for her child, but even just give Zoey a chance at life. She refused to allow the world to bring her down, and perseveres to form a better life for her kid.
Walter, a former teacher until loans got the best of him, is a rather cynical man who drinks a tad bit too much. While he's quick to chalk Jodie's confession of Aiden up to drugs, he never belittles anyone and makes an effort to stand by his friends' side when needed, offering a steady and reassuring support.
Jimmy has clearly experienced a difficult life and struggles with drug addiction. When Jodie first meets him, he is suffering from withdrawals and Stan warns her to stay away until he has his fix, but Jimmy I'd hardly the aggressive guy others might perceive him to be. While eating dinner, he merely complains about being cold but is able to sit around with the others, enjoying their company. Despite suffering from his own personal problems, he is quick to do whatever is needed of him, despite being more frightened by the world than the others, as he has first handedly witnessed her cruelty.
They are the family I've always dreamt of and more. Easy going banter, a mutual circle of support, open displays of emotion. I am genuinely upset I cannot wrap my arms around them as Jodie did in my epilogue when she arrived at Stan's new apartment. I yearn for the love I felt through my screen as I noticed the frames photo next to Jodie's hospital bed. Even apart, they were continuing to support her.
I will gladly help raise Zoey to become as amazing a person as this family. I don't need a romance, just pure unfiltered love.

I can't. I have a singular weakness (okie, maybe not true, but for the sake of this post, allow me to play pretend😊) and that is found family. You cannot show me an old scraggly man realize "oh shit, I got a new kid now" then zoom to Connor's puppy dog eyes completely oblivious to the world and not expect me to be ready to lay down my life for them

*UPDATE*
Arabella has left my camp, but dear old Withers gave me hell for giving her false hope and is officially supporting herrr. Gotta love the "I didn't ask for this but apparently I have a kid now" trope

Okie, so when I was younger, I would stay up reading past my bedtime - I know, scandal, but I was an absolute rebel who with time now relies on glasses to not trip over my own fucking feet. Anywho, this wasn't the issue. The issue was when I heard my parents footsteps approaching from down the hallway and knew I had about 4 seconds to pretend to be far beyond consciousness.
Except I thought when you fell asleep, you stopped breathing. So there I was, already in an awkward ass pose in my best efforts to act as though I had no conscious thought over my movement, holding onto my breath for dear life.
Limbs contorted in inhumane ways, skin turning blue, I was willing to face god himself rather than deal with the consequences of disobeying the law in their domain. I was not about to face an eternity in hell, I was ready to ascend above rather than see the flames ignited within those eyes.
Anywho, while all these thoughts were going through my head, my parents were standing there at the doorframe, probably suffering from a panic attack because why the fuck is my child's chest not moving.

Ah, yes, but of course. The problem didn't all start from a sudden change in hormones as she matured and it affected her mental. She sensed that she was missing some sick ass tattoos, the feel of a flame searing her skin, never knowing whether you'll make it to the next day or not.
Fuck the feeling everyone gets of feeling like something's missing, that they're destined for more. Demons. Angels. Vamps. Werewolves. Fey. Warlocks. Hot ass people in leather that make you question your sexuality.
Everything makes so much more fucking sense now
