Disabled people don't owe you a diagnosis. Don't ask "what's wrong" there's nothing wrong with me I'm just disabled. You're a stranger, why would I tell you something that should only be between me and my doctor?

When I use my cane I'm just as disabled as when I use my wheelchair. I'm not suddenly less disabled my needs vary.

Advocate for yourself! You matter. You need accommodations such as a mobility aid or an elevator pass? Talk to your 504 officer or your equivalent to get what you need to function! Talk to your doctor, boss or parent about using devices that'll help you! You're in pain and if an aid will help you, use it!

Leg numbness sucks, it makes it harder to walk and I often find bruises from bumping into things all the time. My spacial awareness when it comes to my legs is non-existent.

Just because I'm not in my wheelchair today doesn't mean I'm not disabled or I'm faking it. Flare ups happen, bad days exist. Not every disability is a constant there's fluctuation in pain levels and mobility.

Disabled people are deserving of love. I'm not a burden that my boyfriend has to deal with. We are capable of loving a person just as much as an abled person. Stop acting like we can't be in long-term committed relationships or that our partners are only our caretakers like that diminishes our love. Let us love for love is for everyone whether platonic or romantic, disabled or not.

People need to stop making fun of those who use the elevator. I'm not using the stairs because I'm "lazy" it's because I'm physically incapable of using them. This is a recurring issue of people not minding their business or simply laughing at me for using the elevator instead of the stairs. Like sorry? Am I supposed to miracle my legs to work properly?

One thing that pisses me off about being disabled is that I can't do things like others can. On the weekend I don't have "free time" to do what I want to do. I can't go to parties or even leave my home without assistance. I'm fundamentally exhausted and have to use the weekend as my "resting time".

As someone who's been ignored and mistreated by doctors I've come to the conclusion that I want to change that. I want to be the doctor that may deliver bad news but will have steps of what to do with your diagnosis. I want to be a diagnostic doctor.

Hey, it's okay to struggle! Putting on clothes by yourself can be difficult! Walking long distance sucks! Brushing your teeth is a lot of effort! Take your time and be gentle with yourself. You're worth it.
