One of my favorite parts of Endwalker is Emet-Selch seeing the Ghost WoL, immediately clocking it as Azem Something and going No, Not Today Satan while Hythlodaeus is sitting down beside the Ghost WoL and making pspspspsp noises at them and offering them free hugs and Emet's Aether and giving Emet the biggest wettest puppy dog eyes of Can We Keep Them?

Meanwhile WoL is having some emotional whiplash and an existential crisis.

Thank you, Peter Bramhill! I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that Thancred is a super important character on a personal level. You've brightened a lot of our days with this stubborn anime dad.

I love this - I love this sentiment of this message, to send a little shoutout to the community, and hopefully raise a few spirits, and yeah, you're right, it has been a tricky couple of years, to say the least. So uh, so look, I love this script you sent, so you know, many congratulations to whoever put this together - so hopefully I can do it justice! So, I'm gonna give it a go here.

*in a quiet, solemn voice* "As 'Warrior of Light', I do suppose most assume you able to bear the burden of these last few years with your head held high, hm? You've done well. Lackluster praise, perhaps, but I shall save the epic songs of your exploits for another day. 'Til then… do remember you aren't alone. That you've others at your side, who you've done right by, more than eager to repay the favor."
