in the name of moving forward- THE DARK DAYS ARE OVER.

I recently removed myself from a toxic living situation that I only came to realize how toxic it really was until I got shingles 3 weeks after moving out and dealing with an irrevocable end of a friendship that was a ticking time bomb. I am incredibly happy in my place of being now and am reminded that we are all so capable of exceeding our potential when our surroundings, relationships and home base are safe places and made a priority to maintain. With a weak  foundation great things can present themselves to you and you may not even see them, but with a strong foundation those opportunities simply are easier to see and will fall into place. This is a photo of my old kitchen/living room. These days were dark, even during the summer and especially through the smoke in the city while the BC wildfires torched so many other's homes & safe places. There were forever cigarette butts, wax, weed & ash on the kitchen table and always a dirty bong next to the dying succulents on the window sill where I eventually stopped eating meals at all together. This was a dark lens and so was I. Bed was home base, New Town (Chinese Bakery) was nutrition, Marijuana was mandatory and Anxiety & Depression were dwelling on me. There was so much chaos I allowed into my lens like work and money stress, returning eating disorders and old bad habits (like my ex, who is now a friend in the making, but sometimes feels hopeless). It was all so unnecessary and avoidable at my own hand and mind. I'm telling you this because I don't share much and I'm usually listening to other's tell me about their chaos and I invite that approach from others. I love to help and I will always, always listen. Everything is sound though, because feeling emotions, chaos and uncertainty happens to all of us in different ways at different times, but what is important is that we can choose to self-reflect and act for change and care. I know I did when brought to the abrupt consequences of another individuals manic, hurtful words & actions. I do recognize that I had the helping hearts and hands from my beautiful friends and family who all supported me emotionally and physically. At the time however, I couldn't but selfishly feel alone, in my own lens. We're not alone though - Keep your head up folks'
