at the end of LegacySMP season 1 a few of them decided to end the season off with a wither battle they'd spawn in withers and the withers fought each other? i'm gunna rewatch the episode to remember cuz there is lore that goes into s2
yeah a wither battle
Chim's wither was the last one alive so he won
after that they do a prETTY stupid thing
"lets have some fun" are pretty much their last words before disaster
so they unleash a shit ton of withers onto the server and at the start of season 2, there's this little cutscene/narration
"The Legates went too far, the withering energy they unleashed swept across the world with unrelenting fury. As they fled, the legates used all the ingenuity and power at their disposal, combining the most advanced redstone machines with the summoning power of the church of the holy bee. To create a rift, escaping to a new world. Everything was left behind but all is not lost. In the journey between worlds, they found new allies, and they will all need to work together, because the withering energy influences even this new world. A strange force controlled by a hivemind outside of their control" This was said by every Legate that was in s1, unsure if the new members in s2 were also part of it
HOWEVER, the premise of s2 was that we the VIEWER could choose whatever chaotic event happens that last about 2 weeks
does that little bit not remind you of the watchers? SO i have a tiny little headcanon
the ones that participated in the wither battle, and set the withers free into the Legacy world have a little bit of Wither power in them
Sausage, Archelaus, Sliced Lime, Jermsy Boy, Nash Crafter, Chimney Swift, Avomance, Pearl and Python were part of the wither battle so they were most affected by the withering/wither powers... i'm pretty sure logicalgeekboy was there too
however, the other legate members, a few of them bein some empires members (fwhip, gem, scott, katherine, jimmy and more) were affected a bit less and the fact that they enter a NEW WORLD leads into Sausage's power to dimension hop, and we find out that Gem can do that too in s2, and that could add onto how Pearl put Sausage into Afterlife (my theory, he met her when he died in empires, and she said he deserves another chance for a life)
BUTT
it's ALWAYS eaten my brain how the smp right after season 2 is Empires
and sausage, gem, fwhip and pearl ARE ALL IN AN ALLIANCE CALLED THE WITHER ROSE ALLIANCE THE WITHER CALLS FOR THEM

The Legates created a being MUCH LIKE the watchers because they were bein foolish and it affected 90% of them
YOU KNOW WHO ELSE WAS IN LEGACY BUT WAS ALSO IN HERMITCRAFT?

Now depending on the timeline there's 2 things
Python bought the watchers to Hermitcraft before Grian
The watchers wondered how Python disappeared, so tracked him down and bought them to Legacy season 2
in empires season 1, sausage mentions how he's cursed, and xornoth says to shelby there was a greater evil in him before he even had hold of him. WHAT IF the Wither being never left any of them alone. which explains why Pearl wasn't scared of xornoth and why the redstone corruption was so alluring to fwihp..

Condolences
My heart goes out to the three that lost their lives on Tuesday morning,(June 13th, 4am-6am, 2023) and to those who are recovering/have recovered due to that same event. For those who don’t know, a 30 year old man killed a 61 year old man (a caretaker at a school) and stole his van, proceeding to stab 2 19 year old university students, and proceeding to run over 3 people, who are currently in hospital and recovering. This all took place in Nottingham City Centre. Nottingham being my home, a place i’ve grown up in for the past 17 years of my life. It isn’t the safest, but i love it here. To think that could have been anyone, to think those university students are only 2 years older than me, it’s crazy. I was at the vigil yesterday morning, among thousands of people paying their respects to those who have died. My condolences goes to the families, friends, acquaintances, really to anyone who knew the ones that died, and the ones who were injured. Stay strong. ❤ (I unfortunately cannot get a green heart, because laptop)
