X-MEN

Call me a jumper on the bandwagon, but X-Men '97 has proved another way for big corporations to take advantage of my nostalgia. Hence I redrew and coloured my old X-Men sketch, making some alterations, putting in Morph and Bishop. redrawing some faces.

BIERS - WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR SHAPE

This one sort of came out of me. I think Biers only appears in a few of the Discworld books, but it's a fun setting.

Also, for the deep lore here, I know that the Igor in Biers is not AN Igor - I just wanted to draw one. But maybe Igor got himself an assistant who was an Igor. I'm sure it's not confusing.

A quick sketch coloured. Don't ask me what's happening with the legs, I'm really not sure.

I really wanted to do some Fantasy High art but I was not in the mood to draw a load of people like I normally do. But I had seen a sting ray that very day!

THE DEVOURER

I'm just experimenting with some brushes at the moment, I dunno. The most annoying thing about this picture was finding a good pose for the Silver Surfer that worked in context.

BALDUR'S GATE

I really wanted to have a finished picture, and play around a lot with Clip Studio and brushes. Also, one day I will not have everyone run towards camera, but that is not this day.

KARLACH

I am not usually fast to pick favourite characters. But Karlach!

I am still finding my way with Clip Studio - I have yet to find an inking brush I really like. I'll figure it out eventually.

THE SINISTER SIX

This is actually a big glow up - I did this picture, almost exactly, 8 years ago. The first picture I did in Adobe Illustrator, because I wasn't confident in any actual painting programme (the above is in Clip Studio). While there's some things in the original I like that didn't make it to the new one, I admit to being pleased. Give yourself an ego boost - find a picture you did a ton of years ago and do it again.

MIGUEL O’HARA

You’ve seen the movie by now, and you love/hate this guy already.  It was all I wanted to draw this afternoon.

X-MEN 

I often don’t get to colour things before I have to move onto something else.  But here’s hoping.  This is my first full work in Clip Studio though, as I attempt to get out from under the heel of Adobe.

Before was the lineart, this is the shading.  I gave Tim a jacket because it is cold.

I kept seeing everyone’s good Neverafter art and knew it would be my next port of call.  I’d like to do more with these in terms of shading but I was hoping to get some real crisp lineart.

It is nice to be up to date with a Dimension 20 series rather than playing catch up all the time.

BALANCE

I don’t have a ton of time at the moment as I’m working on other things but this is one of those pictures that I’ve put together inch by inch over a long time.  I’ve tried to do a big Balance picture before but it never quite works out.  Still this is something!  

I started replaying Dragon Age: Inquisition and all of this came tumbling out. It very quickly turned very green.

Sometimes you have an idea, and it’s... something but it’s not really anything.  But it might be a TV show.

Or maybe alternatively, you start thinking about why on Earth people sometimes show Medusa with a bow (like did it originate with Clash of the Titans?) and then you draw Medusa with a bow and think... this would be great with a jacket.

This is my current player character, Portia the triton barbarian.  Newest image on top going back in time - original Portia was in illustrator, the two newer Portias are in photoshop which I’m training myself back into, though frankly I might make the jump into clip studio paint at some point.

More D&D stuff - this is Brad and Janet respectively, I made these for tokens for use on roll20.  Brad is a kenku who speaks only in advertising slogans and Janet is a bear.
